Sullivan Brothers SLSCO Gets Border Wall Contracts For The Rio Grande Valley Texas & California "IndyWatch Feed"

Galveston, Texas in its glory days. It is currently home to SLSCO.

Little information is available on this company, SLSCO, because its private, though it feeds at the taxpayer trough, including the silly wall. Walls and fences can be crawled over and dug under. Even as would-be immigrants were recently filmed climbing over an existing wall, and tunnel under the existing walls, Trump continues to petulantly bleat about the wall. The question remains why.

Are these Sullivans related to Trumps Sullivan teamster friend? With virtually no information on this company and its owners, we can only observe that the company engages in sectors of the economy which are traditionally connected to the mob. This can occur on the level of subcontractors, however. We will probably not be able to know who the subcontractors-suppliers are, because it is private.

We find no large financial donations/financial ties to Trump, but the may still be there, hidden because the company is private, or in the subcontracts.

Tunnel Experts Building Part Of Trump Wall; Will It Come With Built-In Smuggling Tunnel(s)? "IndyWatch Feed"

Tunnel experts building part of Trumps wall with Mexico? Just wondering if it will come with a built-in smuggling tunnel? In these strange times, anything seems possible. Tunnel experts are a strange choice for a border wall.

Walls and fences are made to be crawled over or dug under. Some of the tunnels are very deep and very professional. Heat sensors and cameras along the border make more sense.

Even as would-be immigrants were recently filmed climbing over...

US Grand Jury Charges Two In Illegal Turkish Influence Scheme "IndyWatch Feed"

From VOA News:
US Alleges Illegal Turkish Influence Scheme
Last Updated: December 17, 2018 2:38 PM, by Ken Bredemeier
The United States is accusing two former business associates of one-time Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn of illegally carrying out a Turkish lobbying campaign in the United States.

The indictments against Bijan Kian, a 66-year-old American, and Ekim Alptekin, a 41-year-old Turk, were unsealed Monday in a courtroom in Alexandria, Virginia, just outside Washington. The two men were charged with conspiring to violate U.S. lobbying laws, with Alptekin also accused of lying to federal investigators.

The U.S. alleged the men worked with Flynn, whom President Donald Trump named as his first national security chief in 2017 before firing him in less than a month. The United States said Kian and Alptekin conspired to covertly influence U.S. politicians and public opinion against Muslim cleric, F...

Midnight Meme Of The Day! "IndyWatch Feed"

by Noah

One party rule or two party rule, it's rarely really about solving problems, especially the problems of those that Washington condescendingly call "ordinary" Americans. It's all about maintaining the status quo for profit, and mucking it all up even more, while convincing the most people at election time that "I alone can fix it" when you have no intention of doing so because you're a sadistic sociopathic asshole.

Jamming a stick in the spokes is what way too many politicians love to do. Too many of them run for office just to have the opportunity and the cash that might bring. They love chaos as much as they fear a change in the status quo. Both have the advantage of offering excuses for doing nothing constructive while keeping the K Street Gravy Train running smoothly. That's Number One.

Intertwined with the current Trump Shutdown situation, we have a Tax Scam that has resulted in what will end up being trillions of dollars of debt because the Republican Party wanted to grease the palms of their super rich benefactors with a $1.5 Trillion handout, all for a kickback in "campaign contributions" (bribes) of course. Then, the same political betrayers and lowlife scum doubled down on their vileness by talking about offsetting some of that deficit by stealing the old age dignity and health of those "ordinary" Americans at the very same time that they demand billions for a useless boondoggle of a 7th century wall. Money for us? Zero. Money for an unneeded wall? Unlimited but let's start with $5 Billion. In the end, we "ordinary" Americans pay for it all and we still pay for the lifetime healthcare and pensions, aka socialistic retirement subsidies of those who stick it to us with a smirk as well.

What could that demanded $5 Billion for T...

Is Trump Fit to Serve as President? "IndyWatch Feed"

As I detailed earlier, Mitt Romney has had some unflattering things to say about President Trump, including that he is very, very not smart, and that hes a conman, a fake, and a fraud. But hes hardly alone in negatively assessing the presidents intelligence and character. In fact, those in the best positions to observe him seem to be unanimous on these points.

The most important and prestigious cabinet positions are the ones that oversee our military, our diplomacy and our economy. Heres how Trumps initial appointments for those positions have graded their boss:

Secretary of Defense James Mattis Trump has the understanding of a fifth or sixth grader.
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson Trump is a f*cking moron.
Secretary of Treasury Steve Mnuchin Trump is an idiot.

No one works more closely with a president than their chief of staff. Trump is now on his third CoS in less than two years. Heres what they have had to say about him.

First chief of staff Reince Priebus Trump is an idiot.
Second chief of staff John Kelly Trump is a f*cking idiot.
Third chief of staff Mick Mulvaney Trump is a terrible human being.

For good measure, former deputy chief of staff Katie Walsh has said that [Working with Trump is] like trying to figure out what a child wants.

After chief of staff, the National Security Adviser is the most influential aide in the West Wing. Heres what Trumps second National Security Advisor...

Romney Throws Doodie in Trump's Pool "IndyWatch Feed"

The day a new Congress is sworn in is supposed to be a day of celebration and positivity, but incoming Utah senator Mitt Romney decided to preempt Thursday's good times by throwing a Baby Ruth candy bar in the swimming pool.

In an editorial published in the Washington Post late on New Years Day, Romney took a pollaxe to President Trump. Lamenting Trumps name-calling and displays of resentment, Romney wrote that The Donald has not risen to the mantle of the office, lacks the essential qualities of honesty and integrity, and that his most glaring failure has been in the indispensable qualities of character required of a leader.

As Romney described the multitude of global challenges America faces, he noted that a 2016 Pew Research Center poll showed that 84 percent of people in Germany, Britain, France, Canada and Sweden believed President Obama would do the right thing in world affairs, but that one year later, that number had fallen to 16 percent. He then drew the obvious conclusion:

To reassume our leadership in world politics, we must repair failings in our politics at home. That project begins, of course, with the highest office once again acting to inspire and unite us.

And if that wasnt clear enough, Romney went on to be a bit more explicit about how he views the president.

I do not intend to comment on every tweet or fault. But I will speak out against significant statements or actions that are divisive, racist, sexist, anti-immigrant, dishonest or destructive to democratic institutions.

At no point in the piece does Romney suggest there is even the smallest chance that President Trump will somehow change for the better. So, while it is only implied, the verdict is clear. If we must start by repairing our highest office because the person...

Warren Will Need to Avoid Being Typecast "IndyWatch Feed"

Maybe the Boston Globe is right and Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts missed her best chance to run for president in 2016, but shes throwing her hat in the ring anyway. Making a New Years Eve announcement may not be the best calculated move to get the maximum amount of attention, but she will at least have a couple of news cycles to herself.  She even changed her Twitter handle from @elizabethforma to a @ewarren in order to lose its parochial flavor.

Naturally, her announcement was accompanied by a video heavy on biography and economic populism. If youve followed her career, you wont be surprised by her messaging, although I dont consider that a bad thing. Her messaging has been her biggest strength.  Where shes run into trouble is in allowing herself to be defined in the media by her adversaries.

I find it instructive to compare her to Senator Sherrod Brown of Ohio who is also seriously considering a presidential run based largely on economically populist ideas. Their images are almost diametrically different. Sen. Brown, with his gravelly voice, unkempt hair and rumpled suits, is at risk of being typecast as the candidate of the white working class who doesnt appeal to the more ethnically diverse Obama coalition or meet the identity politics/#MeToo Era-driven desire for nonwhite non-male leadership. Sen. Warren, running with basically the same rationale, is at risk of being typecast as a divisive figure of the coastal elites and intellectual left who has no prayer of unifying the country.

Both of them desperately need to fight back against these narratives to be successful candidates in the primaries. In truth, both of them have the potential to excite the base with populist policies while also using their excellent communication skills to sell those ideas to enough white working class voters to deliver a thumping (and unifying) general election victory.

Sherrod Brown is in a bit of an unenviabl...

Gen. McChrystal Slams Trump "IndyWatch Feed"

In July 2010, when Stanley McChrystal resigned in disgrace, few people questioned it because he had violated military protocol by allowing members of his staff to be quoted by Rolling Stone making comments critical of President Barack Obama, Vice-President Joe Biden, and senior members of their foreign policy team. But it angered Michael Flynn and contributed to making him Americas angriest general.

Thats ironic because Flynn went on to promote the candidacy of Donald Trump and McChrystal went on television on Sunday to condemn Trump in moral terms.

Is Trump immoral, in your view? Raddatz asked.

I think he is, he said.

McChrystal said he couldnt tell any of Trumps supporters that they are wrong, but added, What I would ask every American to do is stand in front of that mirror and say, What are we about? Am I really willing to throw away or ignore some of the things that people do that are are pretty unacceptable normally just because they accomplish certain other things that we might like?

If we want to be governed by someone we wouldnt do a business deal with because their their background is so shady, if were willing to do that, then thats in conflict with who I think we are. And so I think its necessary at those times to take a stand.

McChrystal also discouraged anyone from agreeing to serve as Trumps Secretary of Defense.

He also cautioned anyone who might fill the vacancy left by Defense Secretary James Mattis departure, to consider if their values sufficiently align with those of the president.

I think maybe it causes the American people to take pause and say, wait a minute, if we have someone who is as selfless and as committed as Jim Mattis resign his position, walking away from all the responsibility he feels for every service member in our forces and he does so in a public way like that, we ought to stop and say, OK, why did he do it?,' McChrystal said on This Week.

I would ask [potential candidates] to look in the mirror and ask them if they can get comfortable enough with President Trumps approach to governance, how he conducts himself with his values and with his worldview to be truly loyal to h...

Congress Should Ignore Trump "IndyWatch Feed"

I agree with Paul Waldman that the best way to end the government shutdown is for everyone to completely ignore President Trump. The House Democrats and the Senate Republicans should reach a compromise that allows the GOP to argue that theyve strengthened the border and allows the Democrats to say that theyve stood firm against paying for a wall that Trump assured us would be financed by the Mexican government. Then they should send this bill to Trump and dare him to veto it.

The Senate already voted 100-0 to keep the government open. The only reason the government is partially closed is that the House Republicans refused to hold a vote at all. With the Democrats taking over the House in January, the dynamic changes. A bill can be put on Trumps desk.

The Senate Republicans might be reluctant to put Trump in that kind of jam, but theyre not going to keep the government closed forever just to appease him. And, in any case, theres really no profit in trying to get Trump to agree to something in advance since hes too mercurial to be trusted. Hes already burned the Senate once and disrupted their holiday plans by refusing to sign a bill they passed unanimously.

The partial shutdown has only been going on for a few days and it is already beginning to cause mayhem in the Department of Justice and our national parks. The Smithsonian museums and the National Zoo will close in a few days and the Environmental Protection Agency is out of money. Housing sales are getting held up because people cant get flood insurance. And soon it will do severe damage to research and development.

Trump's Disgraceful Betrayal of the Kurds "IndyWatch Feed"

Back in July, I wrote that Id rather have my son run our foreign affairs than the president.

In particular, [Trump] has absolutely no feel for how other nations think about the United States. He doesnt know how South Korea feels about North Korea or Japan, or what it meant to tear up the Trans-Pacific Partnership. He doesnt know why the Russians were so interested in the success of Brexit, although he certainly jumped in with both feet to lend a hand. He doesnt understand why the European Union wanted to strengthen their economic relationship with Ukraine or why they so strongly object to the annexation of Crimea. He doesnt know why the Assad regime is opposed by ISIS or why the Turks dont want us using the Kurds as proxies in the region. He doesnt know why the Saudis are so angry with Qatar or that we depend on Qatar for our most important military base in the Middle East.

The general pattern has been so disastrous that it appears to all the world like Trump is deliberately following a Russian-inspired plot to alienate America from its allies, weaken NATO, tear apart the European Union, and drive our troops out of both the Far East and the Middle East. More than anything else, it seems this way because almost all the errors are pointed in the same direction of undermining Russias adversaries.

But is has to be admitted that Trump routinely makes mistakes that are rooted in his own magical thinking and ignorance. His wall with Mexico is one example, while his trade war is another. These actions may please Russia but theyre equally explainable by Trumps racist and superficial understanding of how things actually work.

All of those issues are still current and causing our nation problems. In the case of the Kurds, the president impulsively sold them out while talking on the phone with Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoan. He clearly did not understand the implications of what he was doing. Almost immediately, our best allies in the region applied for protection from the government in Damascus.

Syrias most powerful Kurdish militia has called on the Assad government to send its forces to protect against an att...

Iraqis, We Know Your Pain "IndyWatch Feed"

Everything Trump touches turns to crap. In this case, he went to Iraq and all we got was a request to pull all our troops out of their country.

Iraqi lawmakers Thursday demanded U.S. forces leave the country following a surprise visit by President Donald Trump that politicians denounced as arrogant and a violation of national sovereignty.

Trumps trip to U.S. servicemen and women at al-Asad Airbase in western Iraq on Wednesday was unannounced and the subject of extreme security, which is routine for presidential visits to conflict regions. But it came at a time when containing foreign influence has become a hot-button issue in Iraqi politics, and it provoked vociferous backlash.

Iraqi lawmakers were smarting after the U.S. president left three hours after he arrived without meeting any officials, drawing unfavorable comparisons to the occupation of Iraq after the 2003 invasion.

Trump needs to know his limits. The American occupation of Iraq is over, said Sabah al-Saidi, the head of one of two main blocs in Iraqs parliament.

Trump, al-Saidi added, had slipped into Iraq, as though Iraq is a state of the United States.

While Trump didnt meet with any officials, he spoke with Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi by phone after a difference in points of view over arrangements led to a face-to-face meeting between the two leaders to be scrapped, according to the prime ministers office.

The visit could have unintended consequences for American policy, with officials from both sides of Iraqs political divide calling for a vote in Parliament to expel U.S. forces from the country.

Trumps trip was probably spurred at least in part by critical stories like the one NBC News ran on December 25 pointing out that he was the first president since 2002 to fail to visit troops on Christmas Day. The trip to Iraq was an answer to that but also a chance to change the subject from an avalanche of bad news for the president.

Of course, he also used the opportunity to give the most partisan speech to the troops on foreign soil in our nations history and to...

If This is True, Trump is Finished "IndyWatch Feed"

On Sunday, April 15, 2018, I wrote, If Michael Cohen went to Prague, then Donald Trump will be impeached, convicted, and removed from office, assuming he doesnt resign. The piece was in response to a Thursday evening article Peter Stone and Greg Gordon had written for McClatchy that claimed that the Office of Special Counsel (OSC) had evidence that, contrary to his repeated denials, Michael Cohen actually had traveled to Prague in the late summer of 2016 just as he was alleged to have done in the Steele Dossier. Obviously, I had no way to independently verify Stone and Gordons reporting, so I focused on the consequences of what they claimed to have learned assuming it were true. As for the veracity of their piece, I only noted that they were serious and well-respected reporters and that I knew that they were convinced they had the story right or they would never have gone to print with it.

As the months went by and there was no corroboration of their scoop, I began to wonder if they were going to wind up with egg on their faces. Lanny Davis began representing Michael Cohen and continued to deny that the Prague trip ever took place even as it became apparent that Cohen was cooperating with the OSC.  Cohen was arrested, pleaded guilty and was convicted, and yet there was still no hint that he had verified a trip to Prague.

As a refresher, the claim that Michael Cohen went to Prague in late August or early September 2016 was the single most damning allegation in the Steele Dossier.  Among the alleged purposes of the trip were to coordinate with Kremlin officials in an effort to manage the fallout from the mid-August firing of Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, find an innocent explanation for Carter Pages recent trip to Moscow, and to develop a plan to compensate Romanian hackers who had supposedly played a role in the DNC hacks.

According to the Kremlin insider, COHEN now was heavily engaged in a cover up and damage limitation operation in the attempt to prevent the full details of TRUMPs relationship with Russia being exposed. In pursuit of this aim, COHEN had met secretly with several Russian Presidential Administration (PA) Legal Department officials in an EU country in August 2016. The immediate issues had been to contain further scandals involving MANNAFORTs commercial and political role in Russia/Ukraine and to limit the damage arising from exposure of former TRUMP foreign policy advisor, Carter PAGEs secret meetings with Russian leadership figures in Moscow the previous month. The overal...

Our Excruciating Relationship With the Saudis "IndyWatch Feed"

Back on December 12, I argued that we should have reevaluated our relationship with Saudi Arabia long before now. It seems that the days of reckoning have finally arrived, yet we appear to be off to an inauspicious start to the process. In Wednesdays New York Times, Declan Walsh and Eric Schmitt explore some of the absurdities of the situation.

The biggest distortion in our relationship is that weve spent decades building up the Saudis armed forces but have always done so with the expectation that those forces would never be used.  Now that they are being used, theyre killing civilians in a losing conflict that is devoid of strategic vision.  We dont like the situation, and yet we cant easily extricate ourselves from it.

In my earlier piece, I wrote its less that Trump is a true outlier than that he doesnt know how to sugarcoat things, and what I meant by that is that weve been reliant on selling billions of arms to the Saudis for a while but only now do we have a president whos willing to say that we dont want to rein in the House of Saud on any level because we dont want to risk our contracts or political relationship.  In the past, weve struggled with the moral and strategic implications of this situation, but not to the point of changing it.  Now were at risk of making our peace with it at a time when that position is least defensible.

Our country is completely implicated in the war in Yemen, including the atrocities, the starvation, and the military failure, and the New York Times is wondering why we cant even keep track of which aerial bombardment missions are being carried out by which coalition partners or whether or not it is our bombs that are landing on civilian schools and markets and hospitals.

The Saudi Air Force is armed and trained by us, and Boeing has a  $480 million contract for service repairs to the fleet.  The new acting Secretary of Defense Patrick M. Shanahan is a 30-year veteran of Boeing who, until now, has been recusing himself for decisions related to the defense contractor.  It wont be long before Boeing finds itself in a public relations disaster.

They are in the same position as our government. They made a contract with the devil, and now the consequences of that bargain are coming due.

On December 12, the U.S. Se...

Jackasses in a Hail Storm "IndyWatch Feed"

The Hill characterized it as the president spending Christmas Eve morning busily handing out lumps of coal to his critics and adversaries, plus those whom he blames for problems hes caused himself. Truthfully, it has been a sickening and depressing display from someone who should be doing his best to spread yuletide cheer and joy.

But Im still focused on Trumps soon-to-be jurors in the United States Senate. For example, theres crusty Pat Roberts from Kansas who is 82 years old and currently contemplating retirement. Hes a Republican from a very pro-Trump state but hes in the news today quoting a Democratic president.

While the presidents stance has emboldened some conservative allies, other Republicans have grown exasperated with what they believe is a gambit that has little chance of success.

This is my fifth shutdown, Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kan.) said on CNN. Im beyond frustrated.

[Former President Lyndon Johnson] said sometimes you just have to hunker down like a jackass in a hail storm and just take it. Thats about where we are, he added.

When Senator Roberts says thats where we are, he really means thats where the Republicans in Congress are, because they seem paralyzed. Stock market trading Monday was the worst for any Christmas Eve on record, and thats just more stinging hail for the jackasses. After all, Trump basically goaded his Treasury Secretary into causing a panic on Wall Street.

Heres another potential juror for Trumps impeachment trial.

Lamenting that President Donald Trump doesnt share the foreign policy views of many Republicans, Sen. Pat Toomey said Sunday on NBC that [Defense Secretary] James Mattis resignation letter put his finger on those differences.

I think General Mattis has put his finger on where the president has views that are very, very distinct from the vast majority of Republicans and probably Democrats, elected and unelected, Toomey (R-Pa.) said of Mattis letter resigning from hi...

It's Gritty "IndyWatch Feed"

It's admirable to try to explain Gritty but it really comes down to this. If you've lived in Philadelphia, he needs no explanation at all and if you haven't lived in Philadelphia you are never going to get it. In some sense, his attitude is pure Mid-Atlantic, but it comes with the kind of inferiority complex that only South Jersey can feel for North Jersey or Philly can feel for New York. You have to mix cockiness in with self-loathing and defiant pride, and then you have to be a little ugly, a little fat, not that bright but not exactly an idiot either. You also have to look like you're comfortable walking the streets of Philly which are like a landfill that has been hit by a tornado. As for becoming a left-wing hero, that's a feature of Philly being the most Democratic city in the country, although that would never describe the Flyers' fan base, so it's still an impressive appropriation.

The Devil Demands Payment With Interest "IndyWatch Feed"

The whining is hard to take. It's not so much that the president has forgotten that he needs conservatives as well as populists in order to govern as it's that conservatives made a deal with the devil and the payment is coming due.

This is the most accurate section of the piece:

Coalition politics always requires sail-trimming by all coalition partners. Many Republicans who flocked to former President George W. Bushs call to "restore honor and dignity to the White House" in the wake of the Bill Clinton-Monica Lewinsky scandal have swallowed hard and accepted Trump for the promise of conservative Supreme Court justices and the defeat of Democrats.

Now they wonder when Trump will trim his own sails for them.

The bargain has always been that he'd cut taxes and surround himself with traditional Republican foreign policy experts. The departure of Gen. Jim Mattis from the administration is not just a vacancy in the Cabinet. Coupled with United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley's exit, this has Republicans, even those who have steadfastly stuck with the president, worried that there is a vacancy in the coalition bargain.

He provided two Supreme Court justices, a tax cut, and kept his promise to fill out his foreign policy team with adults, and now we have vacancies at Defense and the U.N., a conspiracy theorist at the State Department, a rental hack and fraudster at the Department of Justice, a Fox & Friends host at the U.N., and John Frickin' Bolton as the National Security Adviser.

This is supposed to be okay, though, because at least the Bitch didn't win.

Beating Hillary justified every other thing Trump has done or is plausibly accused of having done. And this is primarily because conservatives believed their own bullshit. When she served in the Senate, she got along fine with her colleagues who rightfully saw her as a serious person who came prepared, didn't throw unnecessary bombs, and kept her promises. That was quite a contrast with the caricature of her that had been built up over the preceding decades.

The election of 2016 was not a choice between a Democrat and a Republican but a choice between sanity and safety or rage and recklessness. Any ideological choice was settled in the primaries of the respective parties.

Trump is conscienceless conman and a transparent fool, an...

The Nature Of Conservatism Explains The Profound Corruption Of The Republican Party "IndyWatch Feed"

Posted in a MAGA/GOP corner of Reddit yesterday

Don't bet on anything more coming out of this beyond what came out of the no-follow-through-kvetching we got from Flake, Sasse and Corker but on New Year's Day the Washington Post published an OpEd by Senator-elect Mitt Romney (R-UT) reminding readers that "Trump was not my choice for the Republican presidential nomination" and that "on balance, his conduct over the past two years, particularly his actions this month, is evidence that the president has not risen to the mantle of the office." And yet his party-- particularly Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy keep enabling every horrible notion that pops into his head. In fact, in the same Op-Ed, Romney made it clear that he'll be voting for Trump's agenda even if he speaks out "against significant statements or actions that are divisive, racist, sexist, anti-immigrant, dishonest or destructive to democratic institutions."

Last month, writing for The Atlantic-- The Corruption of the Republican Party-- author George Packer asks a simple question most Americans have asked themselves-- "Why has the Republican Party become so thoroughly corrupt? " Unlike most of us, he actually answered the question. First though, he makes clear that he doesn't mean "the kind of corruption that regularly sends lowlifes like Rod Blagojevich, the Democratic former governor of Illinois, to prison. Those abuses are nonpartisan and always with us. So is vote theft of the kind weve just seen in North Carolina-- after all, the alleged fraudster employed by the Republican candidate for Congress hired himself out to Democrats in 2010." And he even made it clear that he's not jus...

Conservative Radio Host Michael Savage Hit With Death Threats, Heads to Secret Location "IndyWatch Feed"

Michael Savage

Conservative radio host and best-selling author, Dr. Michael Savage headed to a secret location after being hit with death threats.

This is the left violent, totalitarian thugs who want to kill people for the crime of having a different political opinion they want us dead.

All hands are on deck and city, state and federal agencies are investigating after a death threat was sent via email to a restaurant Michael Savage frequently dines in.

The email sent to the restaurant was written in caps, calling Michael Savage a crypto Jew and white supremacist piece of shit.

Via Washington Times:

The suspect then gets very specific.

The email goes on to totter on toward Hate Crime Land.

Michael Savage said in a phone interview that although he has ignored many threats over the years, he took this one seriously and changed location, but didnt offer any more information.

Dr. Savage did say however that they do have a suspect, they do have a suspect theyre looking at, as we speak.

The San Francisco-based radio host has every reason to take this threat seriously; he was physically attacked at a restaurant not too long ago.

Hacker Group Threatens To Leak 9/11 Truth "IndyWatch Feed"

The Dark Overlord hacker group has threatened to leak thousands of secret documents stolen from insurers and government agencies that they claim reveal the truth about 9/11 unless theyre paid not to.

The Dark Overlord, a professional adversarial threat group known for their hacks of Netflix, plastic surgery clinics, and other sensitive targets, posted a link to a 10GB encrypted archive of documents related to 9/11 litigation, promising to release the encryption keys if their demands were not met in a post on Pastebin on Monday.

The group claims the documents tell the story of what really happened on one of the most notorious dates in recent history, tweeting Well be providing many answers about 9.11 conspiracies through our 18,000 secret documents leak. They published a teaser consisting of letters, emails, and various documents that mention law firms, the Transport Security Administration, and the Federal Aviation Administration, with a promise of more to come.

They claim to have hacked documents from not only major global insurers like Lloyds of London and Hiscox, but also Silverstein Properties, which owned the World Trade Center complex, and various government agencies. The material, which supposedly includes confidential government documents that were meant to be destroyed but were instead retained by legal firms, allegedly reveals the truth about one of the most recognizable incidents in recent history and one which is shrouded in mystery with little transparency and not many answers.

Anyone worried they might be named in the documents can have their names redacted for a fee, according to the announcement. Terrorist organizations and competing nation states of the USA are also offered first dibs on the info if they pay up. Some of the documents were nabbed in an April hack of a law firm associated with Hiscox that the firm acknowledges could have exposed 1,500 of its US commercial policyholders. T...

Journalist Who Broke Story of Mueller Deleting Text Messages "IndyWatch Feed"

Bre Payton was a writer for the conservative online news magazine The Federalist and a guest commentator on the Fox News Channel. And she was a rising star.

From the moment we started talking I realized she was a potential star, Ben Domenech, the publisher of The Federalist, said in an essay on Saturday. She was raw, yes, but that could be honed. She was eager to learn, to write, and to go placesnot because of ambition, but because she wanted to change the world.

She seemed unafraid to take on things that mattered, including breaking the hard-hitting piece DOJ Destroyed Missing Strzok/Page Text Messages Before The IG Could Review Them on December 13th, where, unlike the mainstream media who later focused on the idea that there was no evidence that these text messages were deliberately destroyed, Payton leaned towards the conclusion that there was criminal intent in these deletions, a notion supported by Donald Trump.

And then she died suddenly on Friday in San Diego. She was 26.

I dont have any definitive proof for the notion that Payton was killed because she was going to disclose some type of sensitive information against the Deep State; however, it must be said that the cause and circumstances of her death are befuddling enough for one to consider such an idea. My only intention is to explain the facts and allow you to draw your own conclusions.

Wednesday, December 26th: Bre Payton, who lives in Washington, was in San Diego to be a guest host on a show on the One America News Network. Her last tweet was announcing to followers that they could see the show broadcast right now and responding to one follower who was watching it. So as of Wednesday night, all was well with Bre Payton.

Yes, I watching and youre doing an Awesome job with your pointed questioning and insightful reasoning and once again I will e-mai...

Does the West Have a Future? "IndyWatch Feed"

Identity Politics is now the defining characteristic of the liberal/progressive/left and the political ideology of the Democratic Party. It is an ideology of hatred preached against people whose skin is white. Identity Politics is completely inconsistent with a multicultural society.

The West used economic pressure to force South Africa to turn over the government to blacks. The situation remained more or less stable as long as there was only one black political party. However, the appearance of a second black political party resulted in a contest for power based on a competition as to which party hated white South Africans the most. The result is here.

It will be interesting to see if the emerging black apartheid South African state will experience the Wests disapproval and economic sanction sufficient to restore safety to white citizens of South Africa, or whether the black apartheid state will be accepted like the Israeli apartheid state.

The remaining white majority populations in the US and Europe are already being moved into second class citizenship. Only white people can be guilty of hate speech and hate crimes, and only minorities can be offended. As white people, despite still a majority in Western countries, have already lost free speech and other rights, what prospects do they have when they become a minority?

Have the corrupt and traitorous politicians in Europe and North America who multiculturalized the Western countries set the stage for the genocide of whites?

Time will tell.

Texas School Employee Sues District "IndyWatch Feed"

In a return to the bad old days of McCarthyism, Bahia Amawi, a US citizen of Palestinian descent, lost her Texas elementary school job after refusing to pledge in writing that she would not participate in the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement. Earlier this month, Amawi sued the school district that fired her.

The BDS movement against Israel has become a hot button issue in the closing month of 2018. A bipartisan group of senators tried to attach the Israel Anti-Boycott Act to the unanimous spending bill that Trump almost signed to avoid the current government shutdown. Meanwhile, Donorbox, a US software company, blocked the BDS fundraising account at the behest of a pro-Israel group.

The language of the affirmation Amawi was told she must sign reads like Orwellian or McCarthyite self-parody, the classic political loyalty oath that every American should instinctively shudder upon reading, Glenn Greenwald wrote at The Intercept.

On December 12, the Council on American-Islamic Relations filed a lawsuit on Amawis behalf in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas against Pflugerville Independent School District, alleging that Texas law requiring the oath violates the First Amendment. Amawis complaint says the law constitutes an impermissible attempt to impose an ideological litmus test or compel speech related to government contractors political beliefs, associations, and expressions.

Amawi had contracted with the school district for nine years to work with students with autism and developmental disabilities in Austin. This fall, for the first time, Amawi was required to sign an oath that she would not boycott Israel. When she refused to sign it, she was fired.

The point of boycotting any product that supports Israel is to put pressure on the Israeli government to change its treatment, the inhumane treatment, of the Palestinian people, Amawi explained. Having grown up as a Palestinian, I know firsthand the oppression and the struggle that Palestinians face on a daily basis.

5 Weeks After the Guardians Blockbuster Assange-Manafort Scoop "IndyWatch Feed"

Guardian online edition, left; Guardian print edition, right.

That the Guardian story would be seen as an earth-shattering revelation one that would bring massive amounts of traffic, attention, glory, and revenue to the paper was obvious. And thats precisely how it was treated, as it instantly ricocheted around the media ecosystem with predictable viral speed: The ultimate Whoa If True. Its  [the] ballgame if true, pronounced MSNBCs Chris Hayes who, unlike many media figures reacting to the story, sounded some skepticism: The sourcing on this is a bit thin, or at least obscured.

But Hayess cable news colleague Ari Melber opened his MSNBC show that night excitedly touting The Guardians scoop, while meticulously connecting all the new inflammatory dots it uncovered, asking one guest: How does this bombshell impact the collusion part of the probe?

From the start, the massive holes in The Guardians blockbuster were glaring. As I...

Mark Felt "IndyWatch Feed"

One strange element of the attempted coup against Donald Trump is that no one involved has brought up the name of W. Mark Felt. Or perhaps thats not so strange.

Mark Felt is a unique figure in American history, an FBI official who actually did bring down a president. The president was Richard M. Nixon, the occasion the legendary Watergate scandal.

For the benefit of all you millennials out there, Watergate was the outcome of a burglary pulled at the D.C. hotel complex of that name targeting the Democratic National Committee offices during the 1972 presidential election campaign. The burglars were caught and swiftly traced back to rogue White House staffers. No involvement by Nixon was ever proven and was unlikely in any case but in an effort to protect his staff, a collection of sideshow habitus ranging from the simply goofy to the truly deranged, Nixon instigated a coverup.

A two-year uproar ensued, which the national media, led by the Washington Post, blew up into a full-scale, national-historical constitutional crisis. As legend has it, Nixon was about to tear the Constitution into shreds when a pair of WaPo reporters, Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward, rode into town on white steeds and with the help of info from a shadowy gnome known only as Deep Throat (after a notorious porno flick of the day), blew the conspiracy wide open and sent Nixon packing. Thats the legend, anyway, handed down for decades since, a triumph of all right-thinking folk and a high point of postwar liberalism

For decades afterward, speculation was rife concerning the actual identity of Deep Throat, ranging from Nixon staffer John Dean to a phantom existing only in the caverns of Woodward and Bernsteins brains. Nobody actually pinned down the real individual, who was W. Mark Felt.

It wasnt until 2005 that Felts role was at last revealed, in a Vanity Fair article written by his attorney. It seems that his family, visions of lucrative book and film deals dancing in their heads, had persuaded the ailing and near-senile Felt to unburden himself at long last.

There followed a brief uproar minutely covered by media. Felt, a clear expression of puzzlement on his face, had his last hurrah. But that was all. The big book deal failed to materialize. All that ever appeared was a reprint of an earlier memoir (ghost-written, strangely enough, by National Review veteran Ralph de Toledano). A film involving Tom Hanks was kicked around before expiring. A later effort starring Liam Neeson was released only in 2017, to universal apathy. Felt slowly drifted back into oblivion. When he finally died in 2009, it...

We need to make better choices that align ourselves with these (and many other) looming realities.

This is our work here at Peak Prosperity.

First Campaign Fail? "IndyWatch Feed"

Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts is being widely criticized on Tuesday for pandering to millennials by posting a live video Q&A on Instagram while chugging on a beer.

The 69-year-old Warren cracked open a beer on-camera on an Instagram livestream on New Years Eve, and took questions from followers.

The seemingly-spontaneous video channeled similar social-media efforts by former Texas Senate candidate Beto ORourke and incoming New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, following Warrens announcement Monday that she is forming an exploratory committee for a 2020 run.

Im here in my kitchen, uh, and um, I thought maybe wed just take some questions and Id see what I can do, Warren began as she looked into a camera apparently set up on a countertop.

She continued: Its been kind of an amazing day. So, today, I, um, got up early this morning, and, uh, talked to a bunch of folks on the phone, and then went outside and talked to the press and this is our house, and has been for a long time, and there are all these reporters, and trucks, and everybody outside the house.'

Shortly afterwards she said: Hold on a second Im gonna get me a beer, and walked out of view of the camera.

Warren, who has a proven track record as a small-dollar fundraiser, announced upon returning that she has already received donations from individuals in all 50 states, the District, and Puerto Rico, adding: It really has been an exciting day, she said.

She told followers she and her husband would be following their usual New Years Eve routine: We watch Casablanca, we get some good food and, um, we sit there upstairs and we watch Casablanca.

She added the movie fills her with hope.

Ocasio-Cortez, 29, used Instagram stories and livestreams during her run last year to connect with her supporters. ORourke often broadcast himself cooking at home during his failed bid to unseat Ted Cruz in Texas.

Radiation "IndyWatch Feed"

What should we believe about radiation? Like just about everything else in our world there is controversy. Most doctors think it is safe to expose patients to radiation and of course the nuclear industry thinks radiation is as safe as apple pie. There are many forms of radiation we are being exposed to with much of it being natural but Chernobyl and Fukushima changed all of that. The amount of radiation coming out of Fukushima is staggering and will be with us forever.

The telecommunications industry wants to compete with massive radiation exposure of another type with their roll-out of 5G even though no studies have been made for its safety. The Nation raises the alarm, The wireless industrys determination to bring about the Internet of Things, despite the massive increase in radiation exposure this would unleash, raises the stakes exponentially. Because 5G radiation can only travel short distances, antennas roughly the size of a pizza box will have to be installed approximately every 250 feet to ensure connectivity. Industry is going to need hundreds of thousands, maybe millions, of new antenna sites in the United States alone, said Moskowitz, the UC Berkeley researcher. So, people will be bathed in a smog of radiation 24/7.

There are healthy forms of radiation, infrared radiation is extremely healthy as is measured dosages of ultraviolet coming from sunlight. But dermatologists tell us to stay out of the sun or cover up with lots of clothing or sun blocking chemicals. Unfortunately, this leads to vitamin D deficiencies and cancer.

Radiation is increasing in our world. There is no controversy about the fact that most forms of radiation creates oxidative stress, which in the end can cause cancer. There are many reasons to get serious about radiation exposure but the press, doctors and government would rather you not take any defensive actions to protect your health. They would rather you get frantic about the carbon dioxide and how it will end the world.

For those who are concerned and the negative health effects of radiat...

The Mattis Dilemma "IndyWatch Feed"

The resignation letter of Secretary of Defense James Mattis that was published last Thursday revealed much of the Deep State mindset that has produced the foreign policy catastrophes of the past seventeen years. Mattis, an active duty general in the Marine Corps who reportedly occasionally reads books, received a lot of good press during his time at Defense, sometimes being referred to as the only adult in the room when President Donald Trumps national security and foreign policy team was meeting. Conveniently forgotten are Mattis comments relating to how to Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet. His sobriquet in the Corps was Mad Dog.

In the media firestorm that has followed upon General Mattiss resignation, he has been generally lauded as a highly experienced and respected leader who has numerous friends on both sides of the aisle in Congress. Of course, the press coverage should be taken with a grain of salt as it is designed less to praise Mattis and more to get at Trump over the decision to leave Syria, which is being assailed by both neoliberals and neoconservatives who believe that war is the health of the state.

The arguments against the Trump decisions to depart from Syria and downsize in Afghanistan are contrived for the most part and based on the premise that American intervention in places that Washington deems not to be sufficiently promoting democracy, rule of law and free trade is a good thing. Peter Ford, former British Ambassador to Syria, put it nicely when discussing the reaction in the media: Trumps criticswill have the vapors about losing ground to Russia, making Irans day, and abdicating influence, but their criticism is ill-founded. Contrary to their apparent belief, the US does not have a God-given right to send its forces anywhere on the planet it deems fit. Withdrawal will see the US in one respect at least follow the international rules-based system we are so fond of enjoining on others, and will therefore be a victory of sorts for upholders of international law.

The central argument of the Mattis resignation letter that is being cited by critics relates to Washingtons relationship with the rest of the world and is framed as a failure by President Trump to understand who are friends and who are enemies. Mattis wrote

One core belief I have always held is that our strength as a nation is inextricably linked to the strength of our unique and comprehensive system of alliances and partnerships. While...

Boston Symphony Sued for Equal Pay "IndyWatch Feed"

Not even music from the heavens is immune to the laws of economics. It is no secret that public interest in J.S. Bach and Johannes Brahms is diminishing. The older patrons are dying off and the younger generations are about as attracted to classical music as Adina is to Nemorino from Lelisir damore. Because of this, symphony orchestras and opera houses are having a tough time balancing the books, depending on pop culture references, like video game themes and movie soundtracks, to pay the rent.

With demand dissipating and the supply of classically-trained musicians only growing, the industry has never been more competitive. If youre a violinist, then be prepared to compete with thousands of others in your city for a seat in the local 50-member orchestra. Unless youre Hilary Hahn or Daniel Hope, your chances of landing a gig are about as high as not falling for the coquettish Carmen.

The BSO Affair

Should you earn a full-time position with the company, will you be earning the same as everyone else? That question is being debated at the Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO) as one celebrated musician is getting paid less than another renowned performer. The case is now being brought to the courts.

Elizabeth Rowe, the first chair flutist for the BSO, is suing the organization over gender discrimination. She claims that she is receiving $70,000 less than John Ferrillo, the principal oboist. Using the third-wave feminist lens, you would surmise that this is a case of woman-hating on the part of the non-profit outfit. However, once you dive deeper into the case, you see that its not as simple as that.

Ferrillo, who has been with the BSO since 2001, was previously employed by the coveted Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. The BSO poached him from the Met by offering twice what the orchestras rank-and-file make. Rowe, meanwhile, was hired in 2004 as part of a blind audition, which involves performing behind a brown, 30-foot polyester screen, so no one could identify her gender or race.

The BSO insisted that gender did not play a factor in its compensation package.

So, whats the real story then?

Oboes versus Flutes

In a statement, the BSO leadership correctly pointed out three important facts: The two are not the same instruments, the oboe is harder to play, and there is a larger talent pool of flutists.

Just because you perform in the same orchestra, it doesnt necessarily mean that the equal pay for equal work policy applies. A harpsichord is much more difficult to play than the piano and there are fewer harpsichordists than pianists, too but here is t...

Rudy Giuliani: Mueller Should Be Investigated for Wiping Out the Strzok-Page Texts (VIDEO) "IndyWatch Feed"

Will the real crooks ever face justice?

  • Hillary breaks numerous laws with her homebrew server, for deleting emails under subpoena, for lying under oath and for careless handling of classified information.
  • Obama spied on his political opponents during the 2016 election for months!
  • Comey, Rosenstein and the Deep State lied to the FISA Court to spy on the Trump campaign.
  • Comey and Obama ran with a obviously fraudulent document to spy on Donald Trump.
  • Hillary and the DNC paid for the junk Russia dossier and the deep state knew this used it anyway.
  • General Michael Flynn was set up by Comey and Deep State operatives.
  • And Mueller deep state destroyed thousands of text messages between Strzok and Page after they were fired from Special Counsel.

Rudy Giuliani told Sean Hannity on Wednesday night that Robert Mueller Mueller needs to be investigated.
Its about time!

Rudy Giuliani: Mueller has to be investigated for wiping out those texts at an extremely relevant period of time. They say its part of the Justice Department retention policy. Garbage! Its not part of the Justice Department retention policy to destroy the evidence!

Rudy Giuliani also told Sean he will release a report after Mueller releases his report to the press.

They Just Dont Care> Democrat Leaders WOULD NOT EVEN LISTEN to Border Security Briefing at WH Meeting "IndyWatch Feed"

President Trump met with Congressional leaders on Wednesday following the holiday break in the White House Situation Room.

Republican and Democrat leaders met with the president today to discuss the continued government shutdown.

House Speaker-Designate Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) emerged from the meeting with President Trump at the White House Wednesday vowing to pass bills that will re-open the government and stiff the President on border wall funding.

Now this

Democrat participants in todays meeting refused to even listen to Homeland Security Officials during their presentation.
They just dont care.

Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy told reporters after the meeting:

Im a little disappointed with, what I would say, some on the opposite side. They wouldnt, once the secretary started they wouldnt, uh, Senator Schumer interrupted her and they really didnt want to hear it.

They dont care.

The Daily Caller reported:

The White House official told TheDC that both Pelosi and Schumer refused to hear out Nielsens briefing and instead advocated for two solutions to end the government shutdown. Neither of the Democratic options would provide the additional funding for border security requested by The White House.

Democrats in the room either dont care that there is a humanitarian crisis on the border or just prefer ignorance. It was incredibly disheartening that they dont want to know the facts when making policy, DHS Spokeswoman Katie Waldman said in a statement to TheDC.

Representatives for Pelosi and Schumer did not respond to requests for comment.

McConnell Thumps Pelosi: The Senate Will Not Waste Its Time Considering a Democrat Bill Which the President Wont Sign (VIDEO) "IndyWatch Feed"

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) thumped Speaker-Designate Nancy Pelosi Wednesday night from the Senate Floor.

McConnell said the Senate wont even consider legislation passed by the House Democrats this week because it wont include border wall funding.

Democrats will have to get serious about border security so that a government funding agreement can pass the House, earn 60 votes in the Senate, and receive a presidential signature, McConnell said, adding, All three of these things are needed. One partisan vote in the House wont solve anything.

As Ive said consistently for the last two weeks, the Senate will not waste its time considering a Democratic bill which cannot pass this chamber and which the President will not sign, McConnell said.

Take that, Pelosi!

Earlier Wednesday Chuck and Nancy emerged from the meeting with President Trump at the White House vowing to pass bills that will re-open the government and stiff the President on border wall funding.

Tomorrow we will bring to the floor legislation that will open up government. It will be based on actions taken by the Republican Senate, Pelosi said.

Thankfully Mitch McConnell is digging in his heels and refuses to entertain Pelosis showboating.

POLL: Who do you blame for the Government shutdown Trump or the Democrats?

McConnell also announced the Senate reached an agreement to confirm more of Trumps judicial nominees.

Third Way Failed The Test-- Again... Third Way Always Fails The Test "IndyWatch Feed"

I admit I hadn't heard about David Doel's show, the Rational National before. But here are two from consecutive days last week-- one up top and one at the bottom-- and he's talking about the same thing we were on those same days-- attacks on Bernie by the Wall Street Democrats, the Republican wing of the Democratic Party. I went so far as to list-- in the Meet The Scumbags section of this post-- the members of the Third Way Board of Directors and their Wall Street origins. They're the ones running the Bernie smear campaign-- and he hasn't even declared he's running yet-- in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada. As Bernie pointed out in his e-mail to supporters on Thursday, these crooked conservative banksters-- defenders of the status quo-- not only want to defeat him, "they want to make sure that the progressive agenda is not advanced by anyone... Our agenda terrifies the political and financial establishment of this country."

Ironically, the crooks at Third Way say that "Bernie failed the test" in 2016 and now they need to put someone up who can beat Trump. I say ironically because it was the Third Way candidate, Hillary Clinton, who ran and failed, not Bernie, who many people feel was cheated out of the nomination by Debbie Wasserman Schultz and other party bosses who rigged the primary against him. One of the Third Way crooks told the media that "By far the most important question that Democrats should be asking is which candidate and which set of ideas has the best chance of beating Trump. The midterms proved conclusively that the Sanders ideas fail that test." That isn't what the midterms proved at all. Even relatively conservative Democrats were running on Bernie's ideas, especially Medicare for All, which is overwhelmingly supported by Democrats and independents and even by 52% of Republicans!

Senate Judiciary Committee Sets Confirmation Hearings For AG Nominee Bill Barr Jan. 15-16 "IndyWatch Feed"

William Barr

The Senate Judiciary Committee set confirmation hearings for President Trumps AG nominee Bill Barr for January 15th and 16th.

William Barr, former Attorney General who served under George H.W. Bush was nominated by President Trump in December to be the next Attorney General.

Barr, 68, currently works as a lawyer at Kirkland & Ellis and served as United States Attorney General from 1991-1993.

Jeff Sessions resigned as Attorney General in early November at President Trumps request.

Matthew Whitaker currently serves as Acting Attorney General. Whitaker also took control of Muellers Russian witch hunt from DAG Rod Rosenstein, although Rosenstein reportedly oversees the day-to-day operations.

If confirmed, Bill Barr will take over the Mueller investigation.

Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett previously cautioned against Trump choosing Barr to replace Sessions as AG saying he is a Washington insider.

As for William Barr, yes unquestionable integrity, a fine reputation, great experience he brings gravitas to the job but he is an establishment figure at a time that I think we need a disruptor as Attorney General, Jarrett said, adding, Somebody who would vigorously go after corrupt officials at the FBI and Department of Justice who were abusing their positions of power and attempting to undermine democracy.

Jarrett then concluded, Im afraid Barr is not that guy.

Mr. Barr did however question Robert Muellers Russia investigation in a 19-page memo to Justice Department officials, reported the New York Times.

Mueller should not be permitted to demand that the president submit to interrogation about alleged obstruction.

Muellers obstruction theory is fatally misconceived. As I understand it, his theory is premised on a novel and legally insupportable reading of the law. Moreover, in my view, if credited by the department, it would have grave consequences far beyond the immediate confines of this case and would do lasting damage to the presidency and to the administration of law within the executive branch.

Incoming House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler Threatens to Subpoena AG Matt Whitaker "IndyWatch Feed"

Rep Jerrold Nadler

On Wednesday, incoming House Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) threatened to subpoena Acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker to make sure King Muellers precious witch hunt continues unabated.

Nadler told USA Today that his first order of business as Chairman will be to drag Whitaker in to testify before the House Judiciary Committee.

We will, if we have to subpoena him and we will ask him, basically, about protecting the Mueller investigation, Nadler told USA Today.

Has he communicated with the White House? Has he told the White House what the Mueller people are doing? Nadler asked. In other words, is he in any way improperly interfering with the investigation?

Acting AG Whitaker refused to recuse himself from the Mueller investigation despite a tremendous amount of pressure from Democrats and their mouthpieces in the media.

Nadler isnt the only House Democrat vowing to drag Whitaker before Congress to testify.

Leaker, liar and incoming House Intel Chairman, Adam Schiff (D-CA) said in a November interview on CNNs State of the Union that the Democrats intend to bring Whitaker in for a hearing to ask him a series of questions about the Mueller witch hunt.

Matthew Whitaker took over as Acting Attorney General in November after Jeff Sessions resigned as AG at the request of President Trump.

The Deep State and Democrats immediately came out swinging against Whitaker after he took over the Mueller probe from Rosenstein.

Unlike Jeff Sessions, Whitaker has been very vocal about his disapproval of Muellers witch hunt and the liberals are going crazy in their quest to stop him.

The House Democrats will spend all of their time investigating Trump and harassing any person who supports the President rather than work for their constituents its going to be a long two years.

Fake Indian Elizabeth Warren announced the formation of her presidential exploratory committee on New Years Eve. The came after the disastrous sideshow in November when Warren essentially announced to the world that her Cherokee heritage was a scam.

Today Elizabeth Warren went to campaign in Iowa.

Warren is speaking in Storm Lake, home of Buena Vista College, an agricultural community in northwest Iowa.

Chuck Schumer: The American People Dont Want Us to Give in on the Wall and Border Security (VIDEO) "IndyWatch Feed"

President Trump met with Democrat and Republican leaders Wednesday in the Situation Room at the White House.

The Democrat leaders came from the meeting and immediately spoke with their supporters in the liberal mainstream media.

Pelosi promised the keep the government shutdown over funding for the border wall.

Democrat Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer then told the cranks in the media that Democrats will continue the shutdown.

Chuck Schumer: The bottom line is very simple. On our last meeting the president said, I am going to shut the government down. (not accurate but media wont call him out on it). They are now feeling the heat. It is not helping the president. It is not helping Republicans to be owners of this shutdown. Today we gave them an opportunity to get out of that and open up the government as we debate border security. And to say to them because he says he wont sign it and use the government as hostage, we should just give in. The American people dont want that. Thats bad for our country and its not the way to govern.

But allowing hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants to roam the country is perfectly fine, huh Chuck?

Pelosi Emerges From Meeting with Trump Looking Rested After Hawaiian Vacay Promises to Stiff Trump on Border Wall Funding (VIDEO) "IndyWatch Feed"

House Speaker-Designate Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) emerged from the meeting with President Trump at the White House Wednesday vowing to pass bills that will re-open the government and stiff the President on border wall funding.

Tomorrow we will bring to the floor legislation that will open up government. It will be based on actions taken by the Republican Senate, Pelosi said.

Democrats are taking back control of the House Thursday and their first order of business will be to present six appropriations bills and one short-term bill to re-open the government.

Zero money will be allocated to fund President Trumps border wall.

As previously reported, Nancy Pelosi plans on putting pressure on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell by introducing bills that exclude border wall funding a similar bill just passed the Senate a couple weeks ago which Pelosi noted on Wednesday at the White House.

President Trump refused to sign the bill that bounced back and forth from the House to the Senate then back to the House, resulting in a partial government shutdown.

McConnell said many times he will not bring a bill to the Presidents desk that excludes border wall funding.

Soon-to-be House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said that there will be another meeting at the White House Friday, hoping Dems will make a counteroffer.

Trump Administration Wins Case Against Youths Global Warming Junk Lawsuit "IndyWatch Feed"

Sorry kids, life is hard.

Every major global warming prediction from the hysteria 10 years ago was complete trash.

The Daily Caller reported:

The Trump administrations battle against a global warming lawsuit brought by 21 youths will continue into 2019 after a federal court handed the government a big win over the holiday season.

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals sided with the Department of Justice (DOJ) in a Dec. 26 ruling largely missed by major media outlets. The court granted DOJs petition for interlocutory appeal that decreases the chances of the climate lawsuit going to trial anytime soon.

The three-judge Ninth Circuit panel is the very same one that in March 2018 ruled against Trump administration petitions for a writ of mandamus, which allows a higher court to overrule a lower court before a case is decided.

Environmentalists handling the case on behalf of youth activists immediately filed a petition asking the District Court of Oregon to restart trial proceedings in light of the appeals court ruling.

I left the country-- and stayed away nearly 7 years. I had a great time... but in the end I still came home (once it looked like Nixon was absolutely getting impeached). "This," he wrote, "is a country born in the blood of slavery and Native American genocide, where freedom from tyranny applied to White landed gentry only. The republic our founders got together represented an evolutionary shift up from authoritarian monarchy but a distant drift from pluralist enfranchisement. If we want to talk every race, gender and class, America has never been an actual democracy. At best, its been one long, slow, embattled slog toward and at times, away from it.
While weve long since extended the vote beyond that initial White minority, with battles at every increment, any meaningful enfranchisement requires more than the mere permission to cast a ballot. It demands that our representatives respond to the will of the people who elect them. Yet, as a recent Princeton/Northwestern study reveals, even when we do elect our representatives (and Ill say more about that in a moment), the legislation and policy those representatives implement almost exclusively reflects the will of big donor elites and corporations not everyday constituents:
Multivariate analysis indicates that economic elites and organized groups representing business interests have substantial independent impacts on U.S. government policy, while average citizens and mass-based interest groups have little or no independent influence. Castro Lashes Out at Trump on 60th Anniversary of Communist Sh*thole Wishes Limp-Wristed Obama Was Still in Charge "IndyWatch Feed"

On Tuesday GOPe leader Mitt Romney attacked Republican President Trump in a scathing Washington Post oped.

This comes after President Trump endorsed his senate run in Utah.

On Wednesday Raul Castro lashed out at President Trump on the 60th Anniversary of the Communist takeover of Cuba.

Castro told his fellow Communists he wished Barack Obama was still president.
What a surprise!

El Pais reported (translated):

The same day that Cuba celebrated the 60th anniversary of the Revolution, which in the words of Raul Castro has not aged and is cured of fright, the former president and leader of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) charged against the president of the United States. United, Donald Trump, admitting that relations with the world power have deteriorated in the last two years. That is why Castro urged Cubans to prepare for all scenarios, including the worst ones.

The general, 87 , acknowledged that the relationship with the US Administration is not good, after the melting season that the island experienced in 2014 with the previous tenant of the White House, Barack Obama, and with Castro still as president. The current government is moving again in a confrontational direction, Castro said, referring to Donald Trumps executive. In a more warmongering tone, Castro accused Washington of trying to force a regime change on the island and called on the most balanced minds of the US government to avoid a confrontation scenario that, according to the communist leader, Cuba did not you want, but for which the island is ready.

We're all talking about Mitt Romney's op-ed (and his possible plans for 2020), and now the Washington Examiner is reporting this:

Mitt Romneys scorching critique of President Trump in a New Years Day op-ed has sparked a call from within the Republican National Committee to change party rules to protect Trump from any long-shot primary challenge in 2020....

[RNC committeeman Jevon O.A.] Williams wants the RNC to change the rules, endorse Trump and declare him the de-facto nominee, heading off any primary challenge.
This isn't the first suggestion by Republicans that their own voters should be deprived of the opportunity to endorse (or not endorse) Trump's candidacy for reelection:
Last month, a torrent of criticism followed after the Washington Examiner reported that the South Carolina Republican Party might cancel its 2020 primary for president to preserve Trumps standing.
And on the Friday before Christmas, the Examiner noted other efforts -- so far unsuccessful -- to limit primary and caucus voting in 2020:
In addition to South Carolina Republicans mulling the cancellation of their primary, Trump allies in New Hampshire are pushing the state GOP there to amend its bylaws so that it could formally endorse the president. The New Hampshire GOPs state committee, about 500 activists, is set to vote on this proposal in late January.

Most party insiders in New Hampshire expect it to fail because of a desire to preserve New Hampshires unique role the first in the nation primary....

Thats ultimately the route the Iowa GOP decided to go. After grappling with whether to endorse Trump and cancel its 2020 presidential caucus, the party decided it was more important to protect Iowas status as the host of the first nominating contest on the presidential calendar.
But those states are deeply invested in their nominating contests. It won't surpris...

Nancy Pelosi Hires Corrupt Deep State DOJ Lawyer to Pave Pathway to Impeach President Trump "IndyWatch Feed"

House Speaker-Designate Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) hired a Deep State DOJ lawyer to House general counsel to target President Trump.

Welcome to 2019 the House Dems are going to push to impeach President Trump.

Pelosi hired Douglas Letter, a 40-year veteran of the Justice Department and former associate general counsel during the Clinton Administration, reported the Washington Examiner.

Letter retired in February of 2018, but resurrected from the depths of the DC swamp for one last power grab.

Douglas Letter has an outstanding and highly decorated record of achievement in service of America. He will bring deep experience and legal expertise to the House, as he counsels and represents our institution, Members and staff as House General Counsel, Pelosi said in a statement.

Douglas Letter, 65, attacked President Trumps personal lawyer Rudy Guiliani in September over his impending report on dirty cop Mueller.

Heartburn spread across Washington after the Presidents lawyer Rudy Giuliani suggested that the White House might assert executive privilege as a way to bury at least parts of Special Counsel Robert Muellers much-anticipated report at the end of his investigation, Douglas letter wrote in September.

Letter is a DC swamp creature who has spent years working with corrupt players such as Janet Reno and Eric Holder to name a few, via the Examiner:

Letters long career for the DOJ included roles such as deputy associate attorney general under former Attorney General Janet Reno, and senior counselor to former Attorney General Eric Holder. His decades of service, which included working on cases such as Obergefell v. Hodges, the 2015 landmark case which legalized gay marriage, was praised by the likes of Holder and Benjamin Wittes, editor-in-chief of Lawfare and friend to ex-FBI Director James Comey.

Amoral and No Conscience Harry Reid Hits President Trump From His Death Bed "IndyWatch Feed"

Former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, 79, lashed out at the President from his death bed.

Harry Reid is dying of pancreatic cancer, but just like his friend the late John McCain, the former Democrat Nevada Senator has to make his hatred for President Trump known in his final days.

In a rare in-home interview with New York Times reporter Mark Leibovich, Harry Reid compared Donald Trump to a mob boss and said hes is the worst president weve ever had.

Trump is an interesting person. He is not immoral but is amoral. Amoral is when you shoot someone in the head, it doesnt make a difference. No conscience. I think he is without question the worst president weve ever had. Weve had some bad ones, and theres not even a close second to him. Hell lie. Hell cheat. You cant reason with him, Harry Reid said.

Reid responded to the partial government shutdown by saying, You cant legislate when you have a chief executive whos weird, for lack of a better description.

Democrat Harry Reid worked as Obamas lapdog when he was the Senate Majority Leader. He famously made the decision to get rid of the filibuster for judicial appointments in 2013 in order to get over 100 Obama-appointed judges approved.

We had over 100 judges that we couldnt get approved, so I had no choice. Either Obamas presidency would be a joke or Obamas presidency would be one of fruition, Harry Reid told the NY Times.

POLL: Who Do You Blame For The Government Shutdown: Trump Or Pelosi?

The nuclear option for judicial appointments has turned out to bite the Democrats in the ass thanks to Harry Reid.

Harry Reids bitterness towards President Trump and his desire to attack a sitting president from his death bed says more about Reid than anything else.

Caravan Migrants Get Children Caught in Concertina Wire Hurl Rocks at Border Patrol Agents Who Respond With Tear Gas "IndyWatch Feed"

Rep. Matt Gaetz Blasts Democrats For Lobbying on Behalf of Illegal Aliens Instead of American Citizens (VIDEO) "IndyWatch Feed"

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) blasted the Democrats on Wednesday for negotiating on behalf of illegal aliens instead of American citizens.

Appearing on Fox News, Gaetz discussed the government shutdown, which has now entered day twelve.

What the president is not willing to compromise on are the outcomes, Gaetz told Fox News. I think he is willing to negotiate inputs, whether its more or less wall, more or less fencing, or slats, or drones or technology. What he is not going to compromise on is the safety of the American family or the protection of the American economy thats needed.

Gaetz explained that he knows who President Trump is working for but that he cant say the same about the Democrats.

I dont really who Democrats are negotiating for. I mean, are they really negotiating for illegal immigrants, he asked.

Prior to the shutdown, Gaetz appeared on Justice with Judge Jeanine and urged Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to use the nuclear option to get border security funding.

Were going to have real border security or were going to have a long shutdown, Judge, Gaetz said at the time.

#ShoutYourAbortion Founder Announces Childrens Book, Shares Video Talking to KIDS About Why She Loves Abortions "IndyWatch Feed"

Amelia Bonow, the founder of the vile #ShoutYourAbortion campaign, has announced that she is making a childrens book about killing your unborn baby and included a video of herself preaching the joy of abortion to kids along with her announcement.

The pro-abortion activists shocking video was entitled, Kids Meet Someone Who Has Had an Abortion. The video is part of the of Kids Meet series run by the Seattle-based HiHo Kids.

The #ShoutYourAbortion campaign encouraged women to post positive stories about their abortions online to destigmatize the action.

In one segment, Bonow is telling a young girl about her own abortion and the child asks her what happened. The woman explains that her partner was not wearing a condom.

Why wasnt he wearing a condom? the wise child asked.

Another child asked if she was being reckless at the time. Bonow responded by saying that she wouldnt say she was reckless and that mistakes just happen. The young boy reminds the woman that adoption is always an option.

I feel like if I am forced to create life, I have lost the right to my own life, responded Bonow.  I should be the one to decide if my body creates a life. Even if you are giving a kid up for adoption, you still like have a kid out there somewhere.

Bonow then questioned his religion, and he told her that he believes in God. She told him that she believes abortion is all part of Gods plan.

The activist also attempted to convince a young girl that getting an abortion is like a crappy dentist appointment.

You go to the doctor and they put this little straw inside of your cervix, and then inside of your uterus and they just suck the pregnancy out. It was like a crappy dentist appointment or something. It was just like, blah a body thing that was kind of uncomfortable but then it was over and I felt really just grateful that I wasnt pregnant anymore.

Bonow also complained about the pro-life movement to the children, implying that it is just white males who want to protect the unborn.

Republican Religion Denies Jesus Christ "IndyWatch Feed"

Joe Heim began his year with an interview with Jerry Falwell the Lesser for the Washington Post. At first I thought it was a satirical column and, I must admit that I still wonder if it actually was. Falwell spent the interview arguing with Jesus on behalf of Trump making light of Jesus' own words. Forget "suffer the little children to come unto me" or "love thy neighbors as ourselves" or "help the poor." Falwell brags that he laughs out loud when liberals talk about those things. "Jesus never told Caesar how to run Rome," said Falwell. "He went out of his way to say that's the earthly kingdom, I'm about the heavenly kingdom and I'm here to teach you how to treat others, how to help others, but when it comes to serving your country, you render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's. It's a distortion of the teaching of Christ to say Jesus taught love and forgiveness and therefore the United States as a nation should be loving and forgiving, and just hand over everything we have to every other part of the world. That's not what Jesus taught. You almost have to believe that this is a theocracy to think that way, to think that public policy should be dictated by the teachings of Jesus."

Heim reminded him that "In 2016 you wrote in a Washington Post editorial that voters in the 2010 and 2014 midterms sent a message they were "tired of the leftist agenda." What message did voters in the 2018 midterms send?"

Falwell answered with lies and Heim didn't call him out on them. "This midterm, the president did better than the average president does in his first midterms. So I think the message is that the American people are happy with the direction the country is headed and happy with the economy, happy with our newfound respect in the world. It's a better result than you normally see in the first midterms." Ten million more people voted for Democratic House candidates than Republican House candidates. So wh...

Nancy Pelosi Rams Austerity Provision Into House Rules Package Over Objections of Progressives "IndyWatch Feed"

Despite pressure from progressive Democrats, the House rules package for the 116th Congress will include a pay-as-you-go provision, requiring all new spending to be offset with either budget cuts or tax increases, a conservative policy aimed at tying the hands of government.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who will be sworn in this week to represent a district in New York, will vote against the package, her spokesperson told The Intercept. Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., announced Wednesday that he would oppose it.

Presumptive House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who will be sworn in on Thursday, has promised for months to restore the pay-go rule, which she instituted when first taking over the speakers gavel in 2007. She ran into resistance from progressives, who believe that the rule would make it more difficult for Democrats to pass a host of liberal agenda items, from Medicare for All to a Green New Deal to tuition-free public college. Critics also argue that pay-go creates an unlevel playing field, where Republicans get to blow giant holes in the tax code, as they did with the 2017 tax cuts, while Democrats must pay fealty to the deficit.

Theres enormous appetite in the Democratic Party and among all Americans for major public investment to tackle our nations major crises: deepening inequality and structural racism and climate disaster, said Waleed Shahid, communications director for Justice Democrats, in a statement to The Intercept. Pelosi and the Democratic Party leaderships support of Paygo makes actually solving these crises all but impossible. The Democratic Party leadership is unilaterally disarming and shooting themselves in the foot.

New IG Report Reveals Additional Strzok-Page Text Messages Questions Remain on FBI Conduct and Alleged Affair "IndyWatch Feed"

Guest post by Joe Hoft

The Department of Justice Inspector General (DOJ IG) recently released a report dedicated to the lost text messages between corrupt Mueller gang members Peter Strzok and Lisa Page.  The two former FBI employees were supposedly having an affair and also additional texts were reportedly found between the two, but will we ever see support for either of these?

President Trumps attorney and former mayor of New York Rudy Giuliani was on FOX and Friends last week and he discussed the corrupt Mueller gang and its inaugural members Peter Strzok and Lisa Page

They [Strzok and Page] seemed to be obsessively, compulsively texting about him [Donald Trump].  I mean I dont know what kind of lovers they were if they were texting about that all the time?  I shouldnt have said that.  Thats terrible [hand over mouth laughing].  But I mean this is ridiculous.

Mayor Giuliani has a point. To date we have not seen any evidence that Strzok and Page were lovers.  Theyve had thousands of emails but we dont know of any that definitively provide evidence of an affair.

** Was the affair just a cover up to provide an excuse for their thousands of emails or were they really having an affair?
** If they were having an affair, where is the evidence and why is it not released to date?
** Does the Deep State believe that if good, hard working and God-loving Americans find out what FBI leaders in the Obama Administration were doing with taxpayer funded positions of leadership, that they would be very upset?
** Why no leaks on the texts of their affair?

** Why are the only Deep State FBI leaks detrimental to the Trump administration?

The FBI has lost the trust of the American public Probably forever.

Another point that Giuliani raises is related to the DOJ IGs report released last month regarding the lost Strzok and Page text messages.  We reported on December 29, 2018, that Muellers Special Counsel team scrubbe...

The Pence Principle is a Must-Read Survival Manual for Men "IndyWatch Feed"

NOTE: This is a sponsored post by Randall Bentwick. If youre interested in advertising on my site, click here.

For years, I scoffed at radical MGTOW (Men Going Their Own Way) types who refused to interact with women out of fear that they might be falsely accused of rape or some other sexual impropriety. Five or ten years ago, the idea that you could end up in legal trouble because some woman at the office or in your college class that you barely interacted with could accuse you of a heinous crime and get away with it was absurd. False rape accusations happened, of course, but those required you to have had sexor tried to have sexwith a woman, not merely interacted with her.

Then Brett Kavanaugh happened.

In a desperate attempt to keep President Donald Trump from appointing Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, the Democrats dredged up Christine Blasey Ford, a woman that Kavanaugh had briefly interacted with more then thirty years ago at a party, to accuse him of trying to rape her. When Ford emerged, the feeding frenzy began, with numerous women that Kavanaugh had interacted with at parties or in a professional setting accusing him of rape back when he was a teenager.

It didnt matter that Fords testimony was full of holes. It didnt matter that the only witness to Fords and Kavanaughs interactions said that Kavanaugh didnt rape her. It didnt matter that these incidents all happened back when Kavanaugh and his accusers were teenagers. The entire media and half of the country lined up behind Ford and her ridiculous accusations, smearing Kavanaugh in an attempt to ruin his life and derail Trumps agenda.

Fortunately, they didnt win: Kavanaugh was confirmed to the Supreme Court after Senate Republicans collectively grew a spine. But youre not a well-connected GOP figure like Kavanaugh, and if this kind of thing happens to you, you might not be so lucky. In the age of #MeToo, where women can (and do) profit immensely from claiming to be the victims of sexual assault, you need to protect yourself.

The Pence Principle: Lessons All Men Must Learn from Ford Kavanaugh by Randall Bentwick is a book that can help you protect yourself in the age of the false rape accusation. Written in response to the Ford-Kavanaugh hearings, Bentwicks book, while flawed, is a good roadmap for men looking to navigate the crazy world of modern gender relationships. In particular, The Pence Principle is vital for young men, who sorely need guidance in a world that is hostile to them and their interests....

Delos "IndyWatch Feed"

Delos, says Leto to the island in the Homeric Hymn to Delian Apollo,
if you would be willing to be the home of my son Phoebus Apollo and make him a rich temple for no other will touch you, as you will find: and I think you will never be rich in oxen and sheep, nor bear vintage nor yet produce plants abundantly  but if you have the temple of far-shooting Apollo, all men will bring you hecatombs and gather here, and incessant savour of rich sacrifice will always arise, and you will feed those who dwell in you from the hand of strangers; for truly your own soil is not rich.
And so it came to pass. The legendary birthplace of Apollo and Artemis, to which Leto fled to escape the wrath of Hera, became one of the great religious sites of the Greek world.

Delos is a small island in the archipelago known as the Cyclades, in the center of the Aegean Sea. By classical times there was not much to these islands, but they developed early. They throve in the Bronze Age and kept some of their wealth during the Dark Ages that came after the sack and ruin of Mycenae and Knossos. Around 800 BC, when the island sanctuary as it was known in classical times began to develop, these islands were as wealthy and cosmopolitan as anywhere Greek was spoken, and this may explain the prominence of Delian Apollo.

And yet Leto was right; Delos was a poor place at all times, with...

Popular Far-Left Account Spends Christmas Doxing and Threatening ICE Employees with Bombs, Apparently Does Not Violate Twitter Rules "IndyWatch Feed"

A Twitter account with over 8,000 followers spent Christmas posting the names, photos, job titles, and locations of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

Despite being reported dozens of times, Twitter has apparently not found the tweets to be in violation of their terms of service.

According to a report from Far Left Watch, the user @AntiFashGordon had grabbed the employee list from another user, @Animal_Mothah, who described the ICE employees as American genociders.

This list was retweeted hundreds of times and was met with praise by other far-left Twitter users. One user even said Hopefully someone will pay them a warm Christmas visit with some explosives and some buckshot! FLW reports.

After another Antifa account doxed Fox News host Tucker Carlson, dozens of fat-left radicals showed up at his home where he lives with his wife and small children.

Far Left Watch notes that since the Twitter rules do not appear to apply to the left, it may be more strategically sound to report this information to the FBI. Should you decide to go this route, make it clear that these users are using Twitters platform to put ICE employees in danger and that Twitter is failing to take any action against them.

Five Weeks After The Guardians Viral Blockbuster Assange-Manafort Scoop, No Evidence Has Emerged Just Stonewalling "IndyWatch Feed"

As I noted...

Even in his famous anti-Trump speech in March 2016, Mitt Romney hedged his bet:

Now, not every policy that Donald Trump has floated is bad, of course. He wants to repeal and replace Obamacare. He wants to bring jobs home from China and Japan.
Romney concluded that Trump was "a phony" and "a fraud" and that even Trump's orthodox Republican policies were unlikely to be executed in a serious manner. But what concerned Romney most was his certainty that a victory in the primaries for Trump (who still hasn't quite wrapped up the nomination) would lead to a far more unspeakable horror -- a Hillary Clinton presidency:
... polls are ... saying that he will lose to Hillary Clinton. Think about that. On Hillary Clintons watch, the State Department, when she was guiding it and part of the Obama administration, that State Department watched as Americas interests were diminished at every corner of the world.

She compromised our national secrets. She dissembled to the families of the slain. And she jettisoned her most profound beliefs to gain presidential power. For the last three decades, the Clintons have lived at the intersection of money and politics, trading their political influence to enrich their personal finances.

They embody the term, crony capitalism. It disgusts the American people and causes them to lose faith in our political process. A person so untrustworthy and dishonest as Hillary Clinton must not become president.

Of course, a Trump nomination enables her victory.
So, sure, Romney was anti-Trump in early 2016 -- but only because he despised Democrats, and because he was pro-GOP orthodoxy. By the summer of 2018, when he was running for Senate in Utah, Romney was no longer quite certain that Trump's deviations from the GOP mainstream were all that bad, as The Salt Lake Tribune noted:
On the edge of a mountaintop in Utah, its getting complicated for Mitt Romney.

With the sun setting over his shoulder, the former Republican presidential nominee and would-be senator tells his audience, gathered on the patio of a resort, that President Donald Trump will win a second term. Romney also says that annual $1 trillion deficits under Trump are highly stimulative. And ignoring Trumps new trade tariffs, Romney says theres nothing already on the horizon that will push the U.S. into a recession....

Ukraine Fears Breakout Offensive as Russia Breaks New Years Truce; Ukrainian Soldier Killed "IndyWatch Feed"

Ukraine says one of its soldiers has been killed and two others wounded in clashes in the countrys east despite a fresh cease-fire agreement between Kyiv and Russia-backed separatists, January 02, 2019 08:40 GMT

From VOA: Ukraine Fears Breakout Offensive as Russia Breaks New Years Truce January 01, 2019 12:24 PM, by Jamie Dettmer

Ukrainian officials are warning that Russia may be about to escalate its conflict with Ukraine, including possibly launching a breakout offensive from Crimea.

And they accuse Moscow-backed separatists in Ukraines Donbas region of violating the latest cease-fire dubbed a New Years Truce by attacking Ukrainian positions with a heavy-caliber weapon banned under the Minsk peace agreements.

An increasing number of Russian military convoys have been spotted moving toward the border between Crimea, the peninsula annexed by Moscow in 2014, and Ukrainian-held territory, and there have been ominous fighter-jet redeployments to Crimean airfields, according to the Institute for the Study of War, a Washington-based think tank.

Russia continues to build up and prepare its military forces for possible offensive operations against Ukraine from the Crimean peninsula and the East, the institute has reported. It says Russia could conduct such operations on short notice.

Analysts say the movements are threatening, but they are divided over the intent, with some suggesting President Vladimir Putin is keeping the West guessing.

The data suggests that Putin is preparing to attack, although alternative interpretations are possible, the institute said.

The unpredictability is the point, a senior European defense official told VOA. Putin is testing Ukraine and the West to see if hell be checked, to see what he can get away with, and maybe with an eye to securing another summit early this year with [U.S. President] Donald Trump, he added.

The Russian leader issued New Year greetings to dozens of global leaders on Sunday, including Trump, saying relations between the U.S. and Russia are the key to ensuring strategic stability and international security. Putin added that Russia is open to dialogue with the United States on the most extensive agenda.

Trump's Syria Decision Could Be Fatal "IndyWatch Feed"

Since there is no fixed and defined definition of what constitutes an impeachable offense, it pretty much comes down to whatever Congress thinks is unforgivable or at least politically unsustainable. What Nixon did met that definition. What Bill Clinton did ultimately did not. I think its obvious that there must be some kind of criminal or at least highly unethical component, but the truth is that the decision will always come in a specific context in which the totality of the conditions in the environment are what is determinative.

President Trump is presently working on almost all fronts to justify his removal. For Republican senators, nothing is more damning that his foreign policy decision making. Its highly doubtful that this will factor into any actual articles of impeachment, but his impulsiveness and cluelessness and doubtful loyalty are going to at least privately give the senators comfort that theyre justified in pulling the plug.

The Associated Press has the story:

President Donald Trumps decision to withdraw American troops from Syria was made hastily, without consulting his national security team or allies, and over strong objections from virtually everyone involved in the fight against the Islamic State group, according to U.S. and Turkish officials.

Trump stunned his Cabinet, lawmakers and much of the world with the move by rejecting the advice of his top aides and agreeing to a withdrawal in a phone call with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan last week, two U.S. officials and a Turkish official briefed on the matter told The Associated Press.

Look at the details:

The Dec. 14 call came a day after Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu agreed to have the two presidents discuss Erdogans threats to launch a military operation against U.S.-backed Kurdish rebels in northeast Syria, where American forces are based. The NSC then set up the call.

Pompeo, Mattis and other members of the national security team prepared a list of talking points for Trump to tell Erdogan to back off, the officials said.

But the officials said Trump, who had previously accepted such advice and convinced the Turkish leader not to attack the Kurds and put U.S. troops at risk, ignored the script. Instead, the president sided with Erdogan.

In the following days, Trump remained unmoved by those scrambling to convince him to reverse or at least delay the decision to give the military and Kurdish forces time to prepare for an orderly withdrawal.

The talking points...

Democracy Is Comin'... To The U.S.A. "IndyWatch Feed"

"The economy can only go down from here. The number of revelations from Robert Mueller can only go up," wrote Edward-Isaac Dovere in his Atlantic essay, 10 New Factors That Will Shape the 2020 Democratic Primary. And whether those two sentences excite you or depress you, he wants to warn you that they don't mean a Democratic candidate is a shoo-in for 2020. That's debatable but what isn't is that the primary race for the nomination "will be different from any that have come before" and that, as he put it so eloquently "the early polls being circulated will likely have as much relevance to the outcome of the race as learning Mandarin does to visiting Algeria." [That said, Sonatrach, Algeria's government-owned oil giant-- the largest company in Africa and 11th largest oil consortium in the world and employs 120,000 workers, producing 30% of Algeria's GNP jointly operates the Adrar refinery, near the village of Sbaa with the China National Petroleum Corporation. On top of that, China is playing an increasingly important and hands-on role in Algeria's economic development.]

Dovere lays out 10 factors he says will define the Democratic primary to choose a final combatant to take on Trump. First off will be Trump's role as an annoying ring-side commentator. He'll try to do as much damage to each candidate as he has already likely done to Elizabeth Warren. "The most predictable part of Trumps reaction to the primary campaign: Hell be tweeting about all the big candidates as they get in. Hell throw out nicknames. Hell insinuate. Hell let loose rumors from the oppo files, forcing reporters to chase them down... Usually, an incumbent lets the other partys primary finish...

Tom Fitton and Judicial Watch Reveal Obama and Hillary Knew Arms Were Going to Syria from Libya Lied About It Under Oath (VIDEO) "IndyWatch Feed"

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton knew that the US was sending arms from Libya to Syria back in 2011, a year before the Benghazi consulate attacks.

Hillary Clinton denied she knew about the weapons shipments during public testimony (under oath) in early 2013 after the deadly Benghazi terrorist attack.

Senator Rand Paul questioned Hillary Clinton about this gun running program back in January 2013 during her testimony on the Benghazi terrorist attack.

In late July 2016 Julian Assange told Democracy Now that the Wikileaks DNC emails contains information on the weapons shipments to Syria.

enator Rand Paul later said Hillary could get five years in prison for lying to Congress about US arming Syrian rebels.

Rand Paul made the comments during an interview on FOX news.

On Monday Judicial Watch founder Tom Fitton spoke about smoking gun documents discovered by Judicial Watch that show Obama and Clinton were aware arms going to Syria through Benghazi and were warned about rise of ISIS.

Clinton lied about this under oath which is another crime.

Fitton believes this may be why General Flynn was so desperately targeted by the Obama Deep State.

Depletion of Iron From Tumor Cells Prior To Vitamin C Therapy "IndyWatch Feed"

It is widely known that mega-dose vitamin C transiently produces hydrogen peroxide, an oxidant, to selectively kill cancer cells.  In the late 1970s Linus Pauling and Ewan Cameron were first to report of success utilizing intravenous vitamin C to produce 1-year survival among 22 percent of otherwise hopeless cancer patients (chemotherapy at the time was far less effective).  Subsequent studies concluded oral vitamin C could not possibly reach adequate blood concentrations of vitamin C to produce hydrogen peroxide (cancer cell killing effect) even though the data from that study ran contrary to the conclusions drawn.  [Knowledge of Health 2016]

Thereafter Steve Hickey and Hilary Roberts posited a dynamic flow theory of ascorbate (vitamin C) therapy that addressed the fact vitamin C is rapidly excreted and its oral absorption is drastically reduced when consumed in mega-doses.  Therefore, Hickey and Roberts posed intermittent oral administration of vitamin C to maintain high blood levels sufficient to exert a cell killing (cytotoxic) effect in cancer cells. [Journal Orthomolecular Medicine Vol. 20, 2005]  Liposomal vitamin C further increases vitamin C delivery inside cells to potentially effect a cure.

These revelations have led to a renaissance in the use of vitamin C for cancer.  [Knowledge of Health, 2016]

Now another breakthrough in the scientific understanding of vitamin C therapy for cancer is being reported.  Researchers in Japan report extracellular iron (outside cancer cells) decomposes hydrogen peroxide generated by vitamin C.  The inhibition of cancer cell growth via vitamin C (hydrogen peroxide) is completely blocked by the presence of iron.  [Scientific Reports 2018] This was demonstrated in leukemia cells (cancer of the blood) in a lab dish.  Given that most of the iron stored in the body is bound to hemoglobin in red blood cells, it is understandable why iron plays such an important role in leukemia.

The anti-cancer effect of vitamin C is completely abolished by iron.  Iron serves as a growth factor for tumor cells.

With this new understanding, researchers employed iron-binding molecules prior to vitamin C treatment with demonstrable anti-cancer effects.  An iron-chelating (key-lay-ting) drug, or donation of blood to reduce iron load, or a low iron diet (in humans, avoidance of red meat) increased the cell-killing effect of vitamin C.

A reduction of iron combined with vitamin C infusions worked synergistically (more than additively) to the point where detection and invasion by tumor cells was completely elim...

The Worst Enemy of Black People "IndyWatch Feed"

Malcolm X was a Muslim minister and human rights activist. Born in 1925, he met his death at the hands of an assassin in 1965. Malcolm X was a courageous advocate for black civil rights, but unlike Martin Luther King, he was not that forgiving of whites for their crimes against black Americans. He did not eschew violence as a tool to achieve civil and human rights. His black and white detractors accused him of preaching racism and violence. Despite the controversy, he has been called one of the greatest and most influential black Americans.

Many black Americans have great respect for Malcolm X. Many schools bear his name, and many streets have been renamed in honor of him, both at home and abroad. But while black Americans honor Malcolm X, one of his basic teachings goes largely ignored. I think its an important lesson, so I will quote a large part of it.

Malcolm X said: The worst enemy that the Negro have is this white man that runs around here drooling at the mouth professing to love Negros and calling himself a liberal, and it is following these white liberals that has perpetuated problems that Negros have. If the Negro wasnt taken, tricked or deceived by the white liberal, then Negros would get together and solve our own problems. I only cite these things to show you that in America, the history of the white liberal has been nothing but a series of trickery designed to make Negros think that the white liberal was going to solve our problems. Our problems will never be solved by the white man.

Theres a historical tidbit that those much younger than I (almost 83 years old) are ignorant of. In black history, we have been called and called ourselves several different names. Among the more respectable have been colored, Negro, black, Afro-American and African-American. I recall when Mrs. Viola Meekins, when I was a student at Stoddart-Fleisher Junior High School in the late 1940s, had our class go page by page through a textbook and correct each instance in which Negro was printed with a lowercase n. In Malcolm Xs day, and mine, Negro was a proud name and not used derisively by blacks as it is today.

Malcolm X was absolutely right about our finding solutions to our own problems. The most devastating problems that black people face today have absolutely nothing to do with our history of slavery and discrimination. Chief among them is the breakdown of the black family, wherein 75 percent of blacks are born to single, often young, mothers. In some cities and neighborhoods, the percentage of out-of-wedlock births is over 80. Actually, breakdown is the wrong term; the black family doesnt form in the first place. This is entirely new among blacks.

The World Known to Me "IndyWatch Feed"

In a few hours it will be another new year, 2019. I can remember when 1984 seemed far in the future, both as a calendar date and George Orwells predicted dystopia, to which 9/11 and the digital revolution gave birth in the 21st century. Now I find myself 35 years past 1984 and a stranger in a strange land.

Over these holidays two occurrences brought the strangeness of the present time home to me.

One was the arrival of the memoir, From the Cast-Iron Shore (University of Notre Dame Press, 2019) by my friend and onetime colleague, Francis Oakley, an historian of the medieval era and past president of Williams College. The other was the report that a Japanese man had married a hologram.

Little doubt that feminism has made women troublesome, but preference for a hologram indicates a shifting preference for the virtual over the real. Many in the younger generations have friends they have never met face to face. They join together in teams to play Internet games, or they open themselves to the world of strangers on Facebook. It seems that digital interaction with people thousands of miles away is replacing the human interaction of a sports team or a date consisting of male-female face-to-face interaction.

I have read reports that young women pay for their university educations, if education it is, by engaging in digital sex work. They display themselves naked and provocatively in various sexual positions accessible on the Internet while engaging in sexual conversation, and the young men find this form of sexual engagement preferable to face to face contact with a woman. The saying is: It is cheaper than a date and without commitments.

On beaches I observe attractive women clothed in little but two shoe strings, a sight that would have driven the young men in my day crazy with lust, totally ignored by guys fixated on their cell phones. I sometimes think that people will stop going to beaches as they will prefer the virtual experience to the real one.

Francis memoir reminds me that the world he and I knew is over and done with, and that the kind of education that we got, him more than me, is no longer attainable.

The memoir reminds me that the rise of a poor Irish boy, via a Jesuit education and...

Soros Person of the Year Indeed "IndyWatch Feed"

Since 2015, the proponents of neoliberalism have been pushing ahead with their plans for open borders and globalist agenda without the consent of the people. The last 365 days saw that destructive agenda greatly challenged.

In light of the epic events that shaped our world in 2018, it seems the Yellow Vests the thousands of French citizens who took to the streets of Paris to protest austerity and the rise of inequality would have been a nice choice for the Financial Times person of the year award. Instead, that title was bestowed upon the billionaire globalist, George Soros, who has arguably done more meddling in the affairs of modern democratic states than any other person on the planet.

Perhaps FTs controversial nomination was an attempt to rally the forces of neoliberalism at a time when populism and nascent nationalism is sweeping the planet. Indeed, the shocking images coming out of France provide a grim wake-up call as to where we may be heading if the globalists continue to undermine the power of the nation-state.

It is no secret that neoliberalism relentlessly pursues a globalized, borderless world where labor, products, and services obey the hidden hand of the free market. What is less often mentioned, however, is that this system is far more concerned with promoting the well-being of corporations and cowboy capitalists than assisting the average person on the street. Indeed, many of the worlds most powerful companies today have mutated into stateless superpowers, while consumers are forced to endure crippling austerity measures amid plummeting standards of living. The year 2018 could be seen as the tipping point when the grass-roots movement against these dire conditions took off.

Since 2015, when German Chancellor Angela Merkel allowed hundreds of thousands of undocumented migrants into Germany and the EU, a groundswell of animosity has been steadily building against the European Union, perhaps best exemplified by the Brexit movement. Quite simply, many people are growing weary of the globalist argument that Europe needs migrants and auste...

The Atomic Bombing of Japan "IndyWatch Feed"

In the summer of 1945, President Harry Truman found himself searching for a decisive blow against the Empire of Japan. Despite the many Allied victories during 1944 and 1945, Truman believed Emperor Hirohito would urge his generals to fight on. America suffered 76,000 casualties at the battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa, and the Truman administration anticipated that a prolonged invasion of mainland Japan would bring even more devastating numbers. Even so, plans were drawn up to invade Japan under the name Operation Downfall.

The estimates for the potential carnage were sobering; the Joint Chiefs of Staff pegged the expected casualties at 1.2 million. Staff for Admiral Chester Nimitz and General Douglas MacArthur both expected over 1,000 casualties per day, while the personnel at the Department of the Navy thought the totals would run as high as 4 million, with the Japanese incurring up to 10 million of their own. The Los Angeles Times was a bit more optimistic, projecting 1 million casualties.

With those numbers, its no wonder the US opted to (literally) take the nuclear option by dropping Little Boy on Hiroshima on August 6, and then Fat Man on Nagasaki on August 9. Japan formally surrendered 24 days later, sparing potentially millions of U.S. servicemen, and vindicating the horrifying-yet-necessary bombings.

At least this is the common narrative that were all taught in grade school. But like so many historical narratives, its an oversimplification and historically obtuse.

When Truman signed off on the deployment of the newly-developed atomic bombs, he was convinced that the Japanese were planning to prosecute the war to the bitter end. Many have argued that the casualty estimates compelled him to err on the side of caution for the lives of his boys in the Pacific. But this ignores the fact that other significant figures surrounding Truman came to the opposite conclusion. General Dwight D. Eisenhower, chief among the naysayers, said, I was against (use of the atomic bomb) on two counts. First, the Japanese were ready to surrender and it wasnt necessary to hit them with that awful thing. Second, I hated to see our country be the first to use such a weapon. Although he made this statement publicly in 1963, he made the same argument to then Secretary of War Henry Stimson in 1945, as recounted in his memoirs: I voiced to him my grave misgivings, first on the basis of my belief that Japan was already defeated and that dropping the bomb was...

Rough Times Ahead "IndyWatch Feed"

While Congress and the president fight over funding a border wall, they continue to ignore the coming economic tsunami caused by the approximately 22 trillion dollars (and rapidly increasing) federal debt. President Trump may not be troubled by the debts effect on the economy because he believes he will be out of office before it becomes a major problem. However, the crisis may come sooner than he, or most people in DC, expects.

The constituency for limited government, while growing, is still far outnumbered by those wanting government to provide economic and personal security. From lower-income Americans who rely on food stamps, public housing, and other government programs, to middle-class Americans who live in homes they could not afford without assistance from federal agencies like Fannies Mae and Freddie Mac, to college students reliant on government-subsidized student loans, to senior citizens reliant on Social Security and Medicare, to billionaire CEOs whose companies rely on bailouts, subsidies, laws and regulations written to benefit politically-powerful businesses, and government contracts, most Americans are reliant on at least one federal program. Many programs are designed to force individuals to accept government aid. For example, it is almost impossible for a senior citizen to obtain health insurance outside of Medicare.

The welfare state is fueled by the Federal Reserves easy money policies, which are also responsible for the boom-and-bust cycle that plagues our economy. The Federal Reserves policies do not just distort our economy, they also distort our values, as the Feds dollar depreciation causes individuals to forgo savings and hard work in favor of immediate gratification. This has helped create an explosion of business and individual debt. There has been a proliferation of bubbles, including in credit card debt, auto loans, and student loans. There is even a new housing bubble.

An economy built on fiat currency and public and private debt is unsustainable. Eventually the bubbles will burst. The most likely outcome will be the rejection of the dollars world reserve currency status due to government debt and the Federal Reserves monetization of debt. When the bubbles pop, the result will be an economic crisis that will likely dwarf the Great Depression.

The fall of the dollar and the accompanying economic downturn will make it impossible for the government to continue running up huge debts to finance a ma...

The West Is in Disarray "IndyWatch Feed"

We are witnessing the withdrawal from Syria of the American military contingent, protests in France, the prospect of a British hard Brexit, the political decline of Angela Merkel in Germany, Netanyahu in crisis, and Mohammad bin Salman of Saudi Arabia suddenly becoming an international pariah. The contemporary crisis of leadership in Europe, the United States and among their main allies has thrown the West into chaos, leading it to one of its most critical junctures in recent decades. It is a situation brought on by the United States and its contradictory politics, which results in diminishing the sovereignty and decision-making power of Washingtons allies.

Well before the election of Donald Trump, European Union leaders Merkel, Cameron and Hollande were already faltering and evidencing signs of failure.

Hollande fell in the polls because of policies favoring the interests of the elites at the expense of the increasingly poor and indebted French population. Cameron, to stave off a Labour victory under Jeremy Corbyn, promised a vote on Brexit, a decision that would eventually end up costing him his political career. Angela Merkels Christian Democratic Union (CDU) party, the undisputed master of the German political scene, suffered for the first time in fifteen years heavy electoral defeats stemming from recent migration policies. The Chancellor, harshly criticized for these results, resigned from the position of president of the party, leaving the CDU split into two factions. The situation worsened in the UK and France over the next twelve months, with Cameron resigning following the Brexit vote and Hollande forced to give up on the the idea of running for reelection given his unpopularity.

Theresa May and Emmanuel Macron then replaced Cameron and Hollande. Macron immediately committed to revolutionizing French politics, promising a French renaissance. May (with a view to sabotaging it) promised to negotiate vigorously with the EU to obtain the best possible conditions for the UKs Brexit, scheduled for March 2019. Both have acted contrary to their promises, sealing their political fates.

Meanwhile in the United States there has been strong jostling between the political-financial-war elites for the dominance of Trumps foreign policy. The President, either out of inexperience, ineptitude or intentionally, soon succumbed to the foreign-policy establishment, with its usual offerings of neoliberalism and brutal imperialism. Trumps weaponized use of the dollar thereby ended up in an unintended blue-on-blue attack, with Trumps money bags, Saudi Arabia and Israel, receiving some friendly fire in addition to the intended targets, Iran, Russia and China. An understanding between Trump and the foreign-policy establishment has therefore been reached, sealed with the appointments of Bolton and Pompeo, establishing a modus vivendi between competing inter...

The Fountain of Beverly Hills "IndyWatch Feed"

I suppose it makes sense that a heavily Jewish neighborhood would want to get rid of a fountain that promotes genocide. Since the days of my youth, theres been a park up the street with a pleasant, unassuming fountain in the middle of it. Nothing spectacular, no Bellagio-style aquatic ballet. Just a pretty little fountain shooting water in the air as local kids play catch and their Salvadoran nannies chat with each other about green cards and slave wages.

Alas, the fountain is now gone. Removed by our homeowners association with no debate or discussion.

I sought out one of our wizened community leaders (a Democratbig surprise) to inquire about the fountains sudden disappearance. We felt it sent a bad message in a city plagued by drought, I was told.

Sent a message? I asked how a fountain with no words chiseled into it can send a message. Well, climate change is killing us all. Were losing the planet. Global warming represents the final genocide of the human race. This is no time to be wasting water.

Yes, I answered, but the fountain, like most fountains, didnt waste water. It recycled it. It used the same reservoir over and over again, needing little more per year than a few small refills due to evaporation during the summer months.

That may be, my local sage answered, but a lot of people dont know that, and they might see the fountain and interpret it as an encouragement to go home and waste water, and before you know it, were all dead.

The more I thought about that response, the more I realized its indicative of a malignant and rapidly growing pathology among leftists these daysthe need to frame all political discourse in terms of us vs. death.

Were just tryin to save lives, man!

Want a fun little exercise? Google people will die if. Nothing more. That little semi-phrase alone will bring forth a wealth of dire warnings about the consequences of not doing as leftists demand. People will die if Judge Kavanaugh is confirmed (Yale law students). People will die if Congress doesnt create a Green New Deal (Alexandria Crazy Eyes Ocasio-Cortez). People will die if the government shuts down (Sen. Dianne Fossilized Feinstein). People will die if the GOP health care bill becomes...

Forecast 2019 "IndyWatch Feed"

Welcome to the American hall of mirrors and mind the broken glass all over the floor. Thats Natures way of saying the country has run out room to punk itself. 2018 was the consolidation of bad faith in everything we do: politics, the news media, economics & finance, show biz, regular biz, jurisprudence, medicine, education, and relations between men and women the year of peak dishonesty and self-deception. Of course, the trouble with dishonesty is that it doesnt comport with Reality, and Reality being Mother Natures husband, bats in the cleanup position. Entering 2019, the bases are loaded with delusions, misdirections, and turpitudes. I shall get right to it without further throat-clearing.

The nations focus remains clamped to mercurial character in the White House. If you subscribe to Strauss and Howes theories about The Fourth Turning, then you might see president Donald J. Trump playing the archetypal role they call The Gray Champion, an elder figure of the transcendental Boomer generation sent by fate to rescue a floundering society at a grave moment in the seasons of history. Yes, I know: we might have been better off calling Ghostbusters. A cardinal precept at this blog is that fate is a trickster. You order a Gray Champion and room service sends up a Golden Golem of Greatness.

To put it mildly, Mr. Trump has failed to charm at least half the country. They are embarrassed at his physical presence: his lumbering gait, like unto a behemoth land mammal of the Oligocene; that swaying bay window stomach half-concealed by the flaps of his suit-jacket and bisected by the oddly elongated necktie; the pained smile he puts on for the photo-ops; his man-spreading when seated with the worlds poohbahs, and that strange confection of sculpted hair, like the spun sugar on a Croquembouche, or the pouf on some horrifying plastic dashboard figurine. His manner of speech, the weird, palindromic repetitions, the childish artlessness of his casual utterances, the absence of Beltway focus-group cant, and of course the reviled Tweets drive his opponents up a tree. The gilt-plastic trappings he surrounds himself with also offend them. For all I know, they hate his cologne, too.

His adversaries say he is undermining institutions. By this perhaps they mean the beloved DC gravy-train of regular institutionalized grift divvied up between elected officials, Wall Street, the War-and-Intel matrix, and the unholy infestation of lawyer-lobbyists slithering around the Swamp. Just look what happened when Mr. Trump threatened to end US military operations in Syria: apoplexy among the Neocons and Progs-for War though none of them could coherently state what our strategy is there (is it to overthrow Assad so we...

The Populist Right is Less Popular Than You Think "IndyWatch Feed"

It never ceases to amaze me how the populist Right, or what speaks in its name, overestimates its strength both here and in Western Europe. One neednt be an enemy of these activists to recognize the exaggerated nature of their claims.

Those in the media who now demand a border wall insist that the people want this goal achieved immediately if not sooner. In fact, according to Ann Coulter, Trump scammed the American people by not giving them the wall theyre clamoring for. But according a nationwide poll by The Hill51 percent of American voters oppose Trumps project, while only 49 percent endorse it. Other poll results indicate even more widespread resistance to Trumps border wall. Meanwhile, as many as 80 percent of those polled wish to legalize DACA residents, and presumably they arent making their stand contingent on building the wall, as Trump is.

Equally misleading is the happy talk coming from French and German populists who seem to believe they can give the people a real voice by holding referenda. One devotee of the Rassemblement National (the new name for Frances Front National) wishes to follow Switzerland and Croatia, which hold referenda on important political and economic questions. The problem with referenda is that theyre not much of a check on regular party politics. They only work, as the German legal theorist Carl Schmitt observed in the 1920s, if they provide popular input for something like a presidential dictatorship. In a party system with a powerful judiciary, which seems to be the present arrangement in Western countries, referenda are regularly crushed through the political-judicial process, often immediately after theyre passed. This happened, for example, with Californias Proposition 187 in 1994, which called for an end to state funding for social services for illegal residents. A federal court prevented its implementation, just as Californias Proposition 8 referendum result against legalizing gay marriage in 2008 also fell to a federal judge, who struck it down as unco...

We Had a Plan for a Wildfire. We Had a Hydrogen Bomb "IndyWatch Feed"

An investigation into the deadly Camp Fire has revealed some of the planning errors that contributed to the wildfires fatal devastation.

At least 86 people died in November when the fire raged through Paradise, California, where four roads were the only evacuation route out for more than 38,000 residents.

Now, an investigation published on Sunday by the Los Angeles Times finds that Paradise officials ignored repeated warnings, did not have a plan to simultaneously evacuate the entire area, used a public alert system that could be compromised by fire, and failed to sound a citywide evacuation alert.

Jim Broshears, the citys emergency management director during the fire and its former longtime fire chief, said that the fire was so out of control it was like dealing with a hydrogen bomb.

Lets all just be honest, he told the newspaper. We didnt have a plan that addressed a fire that would be everywhere. We had an evacuation plan built for a wildland fire. We had a hydrogen bomb. We were so overmatched.

The Camp Fire started northeast of Paradise and spread at a rate of 4,600 acres an hour

The report finds that Paradise had been given dire warnings several times, including in the 2005 state fire management plan, which specifically warned of an east wind fire driven by gusts through the canyons that surround the town on three sides.

The plan also warned of a high potential for large damaging fires and loss of life and property in the Concow Basin beside Paradise the origin location of the Camp Fire.

Heavy fuel loads, steep terrain, poor access and light flashy fuels create severe fire hazards. The increased population in this area creates a high potential for catastrophic life and property loss, the document warned.

Then in 2009, a Butte County grand jury warned that the town faced disastrous consequences if it did...

Vitamin D Deficiency "IndyWatch Feed"

Last years 30-day new years resolution guide was a big hit. This year, for the month of January, we will revisit this tip-a-day format by looking back at 30 of the most-read articles of all time, reviewing the topics readers have found most valuable over the years.

First on the list, and the topic of this article, is vitamin D deficiency. What are the risks? How can you determine if youre deficient? And what are the benefits of raising your vitamin D level?

Vitamin D deficiency is incredibly common around the world, but many mistakenly believe they arent at risk because they consume vitamin D-fortified foods, such as milk. Few foods have therapeutic levels of vitamin D naturally, and even fortified foods do not contain enough vitamin D to support your health needs.

Despite its name, vitamin D is actually a steroid hormone that you obtain primarily through sun exposure, not via your diet. Since most dermatologists and other doctors recommend avoiding the sun and using sunscreen before venturing outdoors, vitamin D deficiency has reached truly epidemic proportions around the world.

Unfortunately, while the justification for sun avoidance is that it may reduce your risk of skin cancer, by avoiding sun exposure you risk vitamin D deficiency, which in turn raises your risk for many cancers not only internal ones but also skin cancer, as well as a whole host of chronic diseases.

Considering the importance of vitamin D for disease prevention, strict sun avoidance is likely doing far more harm than good. The major problem with sun exposure is burning, not overall exposure. And, the easily treatable forms of skin cancer squamous and basal cell carcinomas are the ones most likely to form.

Definition of Vitamin D Deficiency

According to research1 published in June, 2018, an estimated 40 percent of Americans are profoundly vitamin D deficient, defined as having a serum (blood) level of vitamin D below 20 ng/mL (50 nmol/L). Sufficiency is defined as having a level of 20 ng/mL or higher.

Calling someone with a vitamin D level of less than 20 ng/ml vitamin D deficient is like calling someone over 400 pounds simply overweight; in both cases a grossly serious understatement.

Seventy-five percent of American adults and teens are deficient in vitamin D when a sufficiency level of 30 ng/mL is used.2 If the sufficiency cutoff were to be moved to 40 to 60 ng/mL, sufficiency rates in the U.S. would lik...

Happy New Year, everybody!

Really, Mr. President? This is the best you've got?

In an exclusive interview aired during Fox News' "All-American New Year" special Monday night, President Trump suggested that only U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren's "psychiatrist" knows whether she thinks she can win the White House in 2020....

Fox News' Pete Hegseth asked Trump whether Warren really thinks she could make him a one-term president.

"Well, that I don't know," Trump responded. "Youd have to ask her psychiatrist."
Donald Trump's nickname insults have always been childish -- as far back as 2016, Stephen Colbert imagined that Trump was being advised by a middle school bully:

But most of Trump's previous insults at least made some reference to traits associated (rightly or wrongly) with the targets: Low Energy Jeb, Crooked Hillary, Liddle Little Marco. When Trump really has nothing, the best he can come up with is to call someone insane -- hence Crazy Bernie for Bernie Sanders, which never really caught on. And now he's repeating himself with Warren.

And it's a insult to say someone has seen a psychiatrist? This is Trump (b. 1946) showing his age, and showing how mired he is in the cultural zeitgeist of approximately half a century ago, when he was a young man. He grew up at a time when the gang members of West Side Story would talk about being taken to a "headshrinker," and he was in his early twenties when the most talked-about book in America -- I'm sure even Trump knew about it, though it's hard to imagine him reading it -- was Philip Roth's Portnoy's Complaint, which was written in the form of a patient's monologue to his psychoanalyst.

A farce called The President's Analyst hit movie theaters the year Trump turned 21, and then, five years later, George McGovern's first running mate, Tom Eagleton, had to leave the Democratic ticket when it was revealed that he'd been hospitalized for depression and undergone electroshock therapy.

But Trump is living in the past. I suspect a psychiatric history like Eagleton's wouldn't even be disqualifying now, assuming the candidate had discu...

Globalist Trash Mitt Romney Steps In to Fill Jeff Flakes Shoes: TRASHES TRUMP in WaPo Op-Ed Before He Is Sworn In "IndyWatch Feed"

Globalist trash Mitt Romney took a shot at President Trump in a Washington Post op-ed just two days before he is set to be sworn in to the Senate.

President Trump and Mitt Romney have a very complicated relationship they are more like frenemies.

Over the years, Mitt Romney has criticized Trumps stance on immigration and he really stepped up his attacks after Trump passed him over for Secretary of State.

Now Romney is taking a shot at Trump just days before hes sworn in to replace outgoing Utah Senator Orrin Hatch.

The Trump presidency made a deep descent in December, Romney began his op-ed before going into a diatribe about Trump abandoning his allies because he pulled out of Syria.

Romney said the departures of Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and White House Chief of Staff John F.Kelly, the appointment of senior persons of lesser experience, the abandonment of allies who fight beside us, and the presidents thoughtless claim that America has long been a sucker in world affairs all defined his presidency down.

Romney praised the Trump-hating globalists who used to work for President Trump. Every person he listed has since been fired or resigned he even praised Jeff Sessions who did more to destroy Trumps presidency than any other person.

It is well known that Donald Trump was not my choice for the Republican presidential nomination. After he became the nominee, I hoped his campaign would refrain from resentment and name-calling. It did not. When he won the election, I hoped he would rise to the occasion. His early appointments of Rex Tillerson, Jeff Sessions, Nikki Haley, Gary Cohn, H.R. McMaster, Kelly and Mattis were encouraging. But, on balance, his condu...

Knoxville Police have charged a man accused in a deadly crash on Chapman Highway Saturday night with criminally negligent homicide.

KPD said Franco Cambrany Francisco-Eduardo, 44, now faces the homicide charge in addition to charges for not having a drivers license and having no proof of financial responsibility, which means he did not have drivers insurance. Arrest records also showed there was a hold for immigration (ICE).

An investigation found at around 6:40 p.m. Saturday, a Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling north around the 4700 block of Chapman Highway when it crossed into the southbound lanes of traffic and hit a Honda Civic, resulting in a chain reaction crash, according to KPD. In total, four cars were involved.

*MAJOR CRINGE* Elizabeth Warren Live Streams From Her Kitchen Robotically Drinks a Beer (VIDEO) "IndyWatch Feed"

This was major cringe.

Fake Indian Elizabeth Warren tried as hard as she could to be just a normal gal hanging out in her kitchen, drinking a beer in an effort to connect with young potential 2020 voters.

Warren used Instagram to live-stream video of herself from in her kitchen, knocking back a cold one shortly after announcing her 2020 exploratory committee, on Monday.

Elizabeth Warren copied Commie princess Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez with her live stream kitchen hang out. Ocasio Cortez recently did something similar to connect with young voters.

Elizabeth Warren sounded monotone and robotic; we arent sure who is more robotic Pocahontas Warren or Hillary Clinton.

Elizabeth Warren acted surprised that her husband Bruce suddenly appeared in the kitchen as if its out of the norm for a man to be in the kitchen looking for food

She offered her a husband a beer then thanked him for supporting her, Im glad youre here, Warren said to her husband.

Pocahontas then leaned forward so she could read off the names of Instagram users who joined her livestream as she swigged her beer MAJOR CRINGE.

Watch this video of Elizabeth Warren trying to act like one of us from the kitchen of her multi-million dollar Victorian home in Cambridge, Massachusetts:

Video via Js Political Edits:

On Monday, Pocahontas officially launched her 2020 exploratory committee and posted a video to social media.

The 4 and a half minute video Warren posted painted a very dark picture of the US Warren echoed Socialist crackpot Bernie Sanders and railed against the millionaires and billionaires.

Oddly, Pocahontas didnt mention her Native American heritage in her campaign video, but she did lash out at top Fox News anchors such as Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity.

Warren recently took a DNA test proving shes 1/1024th Native American [Peruvian] it looks like she isnt done embarrassing herself.

EPIC! James Woods Trolls Hillary Clinton in New Years Message "IndyWatch Feed"

James Woods wished Americans a Happy New Year shortly after midnight Tuesday.

Everyones favorite conservative actor, James Woods posted a video of Hillary Clinton slipping down steps in India and said, Wishing all America a Hillary-free 2019!

Hillary slipped down steps while visiting the Jahaz Mahal in Mumbai, India in March of 2018 despite two men holding her up.

James Woods used video of Hillary slipping down the steps in his New Years Eve message.

Of course we would all love a Hillary-free 2019, however it doesnt look like twice-failed presidential candidate will be exiting stage left any time soon.

Hillary Clinton has not ruled out a 2020 presidential bid.

In October, Philippe Reines, one of Hillarys longtime aides said she hasnt ruled out a 2020 run for the White House.

Hillary Clinton fueled 2020 rumors Monday after she posted another vintage photo of the first family to her Twitter account with a New Years message.

POLL: Should Hillary Be In Jail?

Even if Hillary Clinton doesnt run again for president, she is actively part of the resistance by fundraising with her PAC Onward Together.

Hillary Clinton shouldnt be tweeting, fundraising or even teasing a 2020 White House run, she should be in prison for Clinton Foundation pay-to-play and the use of her private server to cover-up her crimes.

The Rest Of America Needs To Be Connected To A Rapidly Changing Digital Universe That Is Revolutionizing Every Aspect Of American Life "IndyWatch Feed"

On Sunday, the NY Times published an OpEd by Ro Khanna (D-CA), Spread the Digital Wealth. Ro's own district, CA-17, has lots of it to share. Although it starts up in Newark and Fremont in the East Bay, traditionally white collar towns, it meanders down into the Silicon Valley and bedroom communities like Milpitis, Sunnyvale, Cupertino and Santa Clara and right to the edge of San Jose. The district's residents are about 50% Asian-American now. Khanna was elected in 2016 after having served as an Assistant Secretary in Obama's Commerce Department. He has a law degree from Yale, where he specialized in intellectual property law, and before joining Congress wrote a book on competitiveness in business, Entrepreneurial Nation: Why Manufacturing is Still Key to America's Future.

He's widely considered one of the hardest working and effective members of Congress and he works on the cutting edge of policy, much of it informed by his studies and experience in the tech and business world. ProgressivePunch rates him the 5th most progressive member of the House (not counting the newly elected freshmen). He was the only member of the House to endorse Alexandria Ocasio Cortez's campaign against "future Speaker" Joe Crowley. In his Times OpEd Sunday he addressed a burning question in much of America-- when will "noncoastal towns and rural communities, including many communities of color be able to participate in the digital revolution. We know," he wrote, "that almost all Americans are avid consumers of technology, but many lack the opportunity to do the creative work that fuels our digital economy."
At stake is the dignity of millions of people. Within the next 10 years, nearly 60 percent of jobs could have a third of their tasks automated by artificial intelligence. Many traditional industries are becoming digital. Recently, a senior hotel executive described his business to me as essentially a digital one, explaining that his profit margins were contingent on the effectiveness of his software architects. Todays hospitality vendors, precision farmers and electricians spend significant time on digital work.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo Pardons 22 Illegals to Prevent Their Deportation "IndyWatch Feed"

Democrat New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has pardoned 22 illegals to stop them from being deported.

The pardons were mostly for drug possession, but drug dealing, arson and robbery as well.

One of the men Cuomo pardoned set an acquaintances car on fire as an act of mischief, according to the governors statement.

Cuomo also used the statement to trash President Donald Trump.

While President Trump shuts down the federal government over his obsession with keeping immigrants out, New York stands strong in our support for immigrant communities, Governor Cuomo said. These actions will help keep immigrant families together and take a critical step toward a more just, more fair and more compassionate New York.

The statement explained that the goal was to remove the barriers that their criminal records present to their immigration status. Some are facing deportation, while others wish to be able to participate in their communities as citizens of the country they call home. In each case, a pardon will make immigration-related relief possible, if not automatic.

Cuomo additionally commuted the sentences of seven illegal immigrants that are currently imprisoned.

For years Elizabeth Warren used the fact that she was Cherokee Indian to leap-frog ahead of her competition in her academic career.

So Warren went out and hired a private firm to run her genetic test.

She announced the findings in a high profile article in the Boston Globe and in a campaign video on her Indian heritage.

But then the results were corrected. Warren is only 1/1,024 Native American She is less Native American than the majority of American caucasians today.

What a disaster!

On Monday Elizabeth Warren announced she was launching an exploratory committee for her run for president.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg Undergoes Cancer Surgery "IndyWatch Feed"

I have good news and I have bad news. The bad news is that Ruth Bader Ginsburg just underwent surgery at Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. The good news is that the surgery went well.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg had two cancerous nodules removed from her left lung Friday at a New York hospital, the Supreme Court announced.

There is no evidence of any remaining disease, says a court spokesperson, nor is there evidence of disease elsewhere in the body.

The 85-year-old justice was hospitalized last month after a fall in her office, in which she fractured three ribs.

In 1999, Ginsburg underwent surgery for colorectal cancer, and 10 years later she was treated for early stages of pancreatic cancer.

Apparently, the disease was detected early and fortuitously as a result of scans taken after she fractured her ribs. Since there is no current evidence of metastasis, its possible that she will make a full recovery.

At times like this, its always somewhat crass to talk politically, but everyone hearing this news is thinking the same thing, which is that it could have a very lasting impact on the makeup of the Supreme Court if Donald Trump (or Mike Pence) gets to pick Ginsburgs replacement.

There will be time to discuss that nightmare scenario some other time. For now, we should just be grateful that the cancer was detected at an early stage and that the surgery went well.

Ted Malloch: Happy 2019 The Reign of Trump Year Three "IndyWatch Feed"

Guest post by Ted Malloch author of The Plot to Destroy Trump

There are those who seek merely to decry Trump and there are those who are befuddled by him calling him chaotic.

His opponents truthfully want to destroy, perhaps even impeach him, now that he is winning. And some in the establishment and the old guard fear he has taken over the GOP.

Donald Trump and the political phenomenon he has created are most understandable and formidable. He is NOT going away.

How do you understand Trump?

Three kinds of people are involved in politics: theorists, unprincipled actors and principled actors.

Theorists of both the right and the left and many lesser minds in academia and in the media, conceive of politics as putting into practice a preconceived theory; an ideology which supplies in advance of the historical facts a formulated end.

To be educated into this ideology is to be taught how to expound, defend, and implement the strict ideology.

What it maintains is that what was previously carried out under the aegis of politics can now be accomplished through intellectual discourse alone.

Political actors who do not play this game are either fools or scoundrels.   Theorists expect politicians to be imperfect but deferential versions of themselves.

The theorists like to be consulted, and although they pretend that they have no ego (its all about the theory), they are most devoted to their own prestige.

Republican theorists pretend that Reagan was one of them; he was great at giving speeches but he did not write them; nor was he constrained by abstractions.

Lincoln could write and give speeches; but he too, was not constrained by any theory.

Politics, however, is not the application of theory to practice.

Politics is not about theory.

Its about addressing and responding to current but inherited issues (not some timeless universal concerns); this is, by the way, a form of conservatism when it is principled.

At best, one hires theorists to write set speeches speeches are rituals, not theories.

Politics can be practiced in one of two ways, principled or unprincipled.

The Clintons are unprincipled.

They lacked a visio...

Dershowitz then went on to say that any of the people today who compare the current US political climate to the Nazis are basically Holocaust deniers.

A December poll found one-third of Europeans know little about the Holocaust.

Alan Dershowitz: Well, its remarkable how little history people know and how little they are willing to learn about something as tragic as that. And the result is these false analogies all over the place. Everybody is compared to Hitler. Everybody is compared to the Holocaust Anybody who compares Trump or anybody else to Hitler essentially is a Holocaust denier.

Matt Forneys Favorite Terror House Magazine Submissions of 2018 "IndyWatch Feed"

While I ordinarily do a year-end roundup of my favorite blog posts, articles, podcasts, and other things Ive done, because Ive shifted into working as a publisher and live stream host, I no longer write as much as I used to. Much of my energy has been focused on building up Terror House Magazine and Terror House Press, turning them into the premier hubs for outsider literature.

Since we launched in May, Terror House Magazine has published over 350 submissions from over 150 different writers, spanning short stories, literary nonfiction, poetry, reviews, and serialized novellas. Our traffic has continued to grow, with December falling a hair short of being our best month yet. Weve been attacked by both the far-left and the neo-Nazi right, with the clods of #saferLIT trying to blackball our writers and famous right-wing personalities like Richard Spencer and J.F. Garipy crying about us on their shows.

My co-editor Glahn has published an article today featuring his favorite Terror House submissions over the past year, and I present my favorite picks below. Note that I deliberately avoided choosing submissions that he also picked, since our tastes overlap on many of them, instead choosing to highlight several favorites of my own. Additionally, both Glahns list and mine exclude submissions that won Terror Houses Best of the Month Award, which you can find here.

Blood Knot by Jose Oseguera

Im not really big on erotica; my one foray into writing it was as part of an aborted trolling campaign. For that matter, I dont even really like gratuitous sex in writing period. Dangerous Days, a documentary about the making of Blade Runner, features an extended cut of the scene where Harrison Ford and Sean Young make out where she gets topless, with Ridley Scott explaining that he didnt put it in the final cut because he views sex scenes as unnecessary unless they drive the plot forward in some fashion.

Blood Knot is a perfect example of a book where gratuitous sex isnt just welcome, its necessary. Story of O-esque novella about a relationship between a young man and an older woman, Osegueras graphic prose goes from sexy to sickening when layered with context. Blood Knot is a story about abuse, showing how the sins and scars of one person are transmuted to the next generation, knowingly or unknowingly.
