The Russian dossier was paid for by the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clintons presidential campaign.
The junk dossier was used as evidence in a FISA court hearing as evidence to spy on Trump volunteer Carter Page in October 2016.
Kramer then returned back to the US and delivered the phony
dossier to John McCain.
McCain handed the document over to the FBI.
David Kramer is a senior fellow at the McCain Institute for International Leadership at Arizona State University.
FOX News reported:
A former State Department official and associate of Sen. John McCain has invoked his Fifth Amendment right not to testify in connection with questions from the House Intelligence Committee about the anti-Trump dossiers Russian sources, according to a law enforcement source.
David J. Kramer, who is a central player in how the unverified Trump dossier made its way to the FBI in late 2016, testified before the committee in December in a closed-door session, indicating he had information about the dossiers sources. A subpoena was issued for mid-January, as first reported by The Washington Examiner.
The law enforcement source confirmed, however, that Kramer did not appear and has exercised his Fifth Amendment rights.
Yet Kramer gave a videotaped deposition last December in separate civil litigation against BuzzFeed about the dossier and his contact with the former British spy who compiled it, Christopher Steele. Steele was hired by opposition research firm Fusion GPS to write and research the dossier, with funding from the Democratic National Committee and Clinton campaign.
According to British court records obtained by Fox News as part of its ongoing investigation of th...
Special counsel Robert Mueller filed a new indictment charging former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and aide Rick Gates with multiple counts of tax and bank fraud.
The new charges, returned by a federal grand jury in Alexandria, Virginia on Thursday, come after Mueller separately charged the two men in Washington last year with money laundering and failing to register as foreign agents for their work related to Ukraine.
Read the charges here.
Last week Special Counsel Robert Muellers prosecutors hit Trumps former campaign Chairman Paul Manafort with new allegations of bank fraud.
Robert Muellers team is now focusing on Manaforts real estate transactions and alleged mortgage fraud.
These are separate allegations from Manaforts October charges of money laundering and failure to file a FARA form.
Manafort has been on house arrest since he was indicted in October of 2017.

I want to tell you about my night with President Trump.
I was born a S.O.B. (son of a butcher). My dad David Root was a blue-collar butcher, who spent his workdays wearing a white apron with blood stains. My mom was a homemaker, as well as part-time cashier at the butcher store.
Only in America can a son of a butcher spend time at Mar-a-Lago with the President of the United States. Only in America would the billionaire President of the United States thank the butchers son for his supportand actually take time to listen to the opinions of the butchers son turned Vegas small businessman.
I was invited to Mar-a-Lago by my great friend Lee Lipton and his wonderful wife Erika. Lee is another example of the one-in-a-billion attitude of our great President. Lee and I met and became fast friends a decade ago because we have so much in common. Like me, Lee is a Jewish Republican small businessman- a restaurant owner in Palm Beach, Florida.
But Lee happens to be friends with the President of the United States.
Lee has been mentioned in recent articles about the President in the New York Times and Washington Post. When the President sat down for interviews with journalists from these newspapers, my friend Lee sat at the table. Lee is a witness to history.
I first met President Trump through Lee Lipton. Many of my opinion pieces and newspaper articles are shared with the President by Lee. Lee is a loyal friend. That could be why President Trump appreciates Lees friendship and counsel.
So, when Lee invited me down to Palm Beach to spend Presidents Weekend at Mar-a-Lago, I jumped at the chance. I flew to Palm Beach on Friday morning and landed in time to host my nightly TV show live from Newsmax TV headquarters.
Then I rushed to a late dinner with Christopher Ruddy, the Founder, CEO and visionary behind Newsmax Media, one of the most powerful and successful political brands in the world. Chris is the man who hired me and gave me a national TV show.
On Saturday night, Lee and I arrived for dinner at Mar-a-Lago. The restaurant was packed with the most incredible group of people in all of America- captains of industry, celebrities, high profile billionaires, media superstars. In the middle of it all sat President Donald J. Trump.
As soon as President Trump saw mehe yelled Wayne and waved me to join him at his dinner table. The Secret Service escorted me through the security surrounding his table. He was having dinner with...
In 2017, 13 federal agencies expressed high confidence that more than 92 percent of the observed rise in global average temperatures since 1950 is the direct result of human activity. But the Trump administration wants to debunk its own findings. First, Trump nominated Kathleen Hartnett White, a senior fellow at the Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF), to lead the Council on Environmental Quality. As you might imagine, the TPPF is basically a front for utility companies and the oil and gas industry.
Craig McDonald, director of Texans for Public Justice, told the Texas Observer, TPPFs donors are a Whos Who of Texas polluters, giant utilities and big insurance companies. TPPF is thinking the way its donors want it to think.
Unfortunately for the polluters, Kathleen Hartnett White gave one of the most pathetic performances in history during her confirmation hearings. It was so bad that her nomination had to be pulled.
Senator Tom Carper of Delaware, the top Democrat on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, said he found Ms. Whites views so unsettling that he mounted a campaign to block her confirmation. Mr. Carper said he visited the offices of 16 Republican senators to voice his concerns, bringing with him an iPad in order to play a three-minute video that his staff had compiled of Ms. White struggling to respond to questions posed by both Republicans and Democrats at her hearing.
In an interview last week, Mr. Carper said he believed his effort had played a part in ending Ms. Whites nomination.
Her climate change skepticism wasnt necessarily the problem. Her complete ignorance of environmental science was just too much to overlook. Thats why the Trump administration is tossing us another climate skeptic.
The Trump administration is considering a North Carolina regulator who questions mainstream climate science to be the next White House enviro...
Ive often compared the red/blue divide in our politics to two tectonic plates that are locked together. Every so often, there is some slippage along the fault line that causes a minor political earthquake, but things usually settle back into a stable state. No one can quite predict when The Big One will come, but theres always the potential for a huge shift that will permanently rearrange the divide and leave one party with an insurmountable advantage.
Weve had two presidential elections, in 2000 and 2016, when the party with fewer voters nonetheless won the election due to an advantage in the Electoral College. In Congress, weve seen control switch back and forth during this same period. The one thing that would change everything is if Texas and its 38 Electoral College votes suddenly moved into the Blue column. Without Texas, its inconceivable that a Republican could win the presidency. The Republicans currently enjoy a 27-11 advantage in their congressional delegation, and they hold both U.S. Senate seats. Both of those majorities are key to the Republicans current control of Congress.
Based solely on demographic analyses of Texas, it has looked like the Democrats might be competitive in the presidential election by 2024 and perhaps have an outright advantage by 2028. Those estimates dont take into account the possibility that racial, ethnic or gender groups might change their voting preferences. If whites vote even more heavily Republican or Latinos become more like swing voters, then Texas may remain reliably red for a longer period of time. But if the reverse happens, or if, say, white women move sharply away from the GOP in reaction to school shootings and the #MeToo movement, then Texas could be competitive in 2020.
Early voting for the midterm election primaries started in Texas on Tuesday, and the Dallas Morning News reports that the Democrats are turning out at close to presidential year numbers.
Of the 51,249 Texans who cast ballots Tuesday on the first day of early voting, more than half voted in the Democratic primary.
The total number of voters from the 15 counties with the most people registered is high for a midterm year. In 2016, a presidential election year, 55,931 Texans voted on the first day of early voting for the primary. But in the last midterm election in 2014, only 38,441 Texans voted on the first day.
Even more surprising is the turnout among Democrats. Since the last midterm election, the party saw a 51 percent increase in first-day early voting turnout, while Republicans saw a 16 percent increase.
Some of the individual county numbers are striking...
Financial records filed last year in the secretive tax haven of Cyprus, where Paul J. Manafort kept bank accounts during his years working in Ukraine and investing with a Russian oligarch, indicate that he had been in debt to pro-Russia interests by as much as $17 million before he joined Donald J. Trumps presidential campaign in March 2016.
The loans for the 377 Union property totaled 6.5 million and were for a property that Manafort initially bought for less than $3 million.
Between the Hamptons property and the Brooklyn property the Federal Savings Bank loaned Manafort $16 million or 5 percent of all of the bank's loans, according to records kept by the FDIC.
Manafort owed Oleg Deripaska somewhere in the neighborhood of 16 or 17 million dollars. That's the same amount of money he borrowed once he lost his job with the Trump campaign.
When he was still employed by the campaign, he tried offering Deripaska private briefings and otherwise monetizing his access and position. Then he got fired.
On Aug. 19, 2016, Manafort left the Trump campaign amid media reports about his previous work for a pro-Russian political party in Ukraine, including allegations he received millions of dollars in payments.
That same day, Manafort created a holding company called Summerbreeze LLC. Several weeks later, a document called a UCC filed with the state of New York shows that Summerbreeze took out a $3.5 million loan on Manafort's home in the tony beach enclave of Bridgehampton.
This doesn't look all that complicated. Manafort owed a Russian oligarch approximately 16 million dollars. He'd been stiffing him for a few years. He came up with a desperate idea to repay him which was a priority due to Deripaska's connections to organized crime. He would offer to work for Trump for no pay. Then he would begin paying Russia back in other ways. A change in the Republican platform. Private briefings on the inner workings of Trump's circle. But he got exposed and fired. The same day, he began scrounging for $16 million using the connections he'd made to secure the highly dubious loans.
This, too, has been exposed. And now Manafort is up shit's creek.
In court filings Friday related to Manafort's bail, federal prosecutors said they have "substantial evidence" that a loan made from the bank to Manafort using the Virginia and Hamptons properties as collateral was secured through false representation...
My congressman, Ryan Costello, is well-respected in my community. Hes a local boy who did good. He knows he represents a district that voted for Obama once and for Hillary Clinton. He doesnt throw bombs and keeps away from right-wing media. He casts an occasional dissenting vote. He tries to sound reasonable about immigration policy. He opted out of attending Trumps convention in Cleveland because of concerns about his behavior and rhetoric. Its all sensible behavior for someone who most definitely represents a swingy district. His predecessor, Jim Gerlach, survived some rough election cycles using the same basic playbook.
But Costello has been acting weird lately. He was supposed to be at the softball practice where his colleague Steve Scalise was shot and almost killed, but he missed his ride. After that, he became less accessible. He refused to attend a town hall meeting in Phoenixville, explaining implausibly that the sponsors inadequate security had created a death trap. Then he collapsed at the local gym when he read the headlines about it in the local newspaper.
Then in January, he totally freaked out when a couple of canvassers came to his house and talked to his wife. He accused his likely opponent in the next election, Democrat Chrissy Houlahan, of sending the canvassers to his house in order to intimidate his family.
During the weekend, Costello wrote on Facebook that a disturbing political incident had taken place at his house. He claimed that two associates of Houlahan had gone onto his property on Saturday, snapped pictures of his home, and intimidated his wife. Families should always be off limits, he said. We were able to get some footage of the incident and hope these individuals will be apprehended.
It turned out that they hadnt taken any pictures or mistreated his wife. They were just...
Asha Rangappa is a former FBI counterintelligence officer who now lectures at Yale University. Shes written a piece for Politico that explores some fairly obvious points about the damage that can be done to our governmental institutions when we elect someone without good moral character. His main point is that its a very bad thing when, due to the presidents personal flaws, the courts have to get involved in defining and limiting his or her power. A secondary point is that when a president is aggressively investigated by his or her own executive branchs prosecutors, it divides the country. The presidents supporters lose faith in federal law enforcement.
Not to be mean, but theres not much more content than this to Rangappas piece, which is unfortunate considering the relevancy of her background. The main problem is that she tiptoes around the central problem in our current situation. Its fine to lament that the nation elected a man with poor moral character which has now produced predictably bad results for the nationresults that are likely to get worse and worse with each passing day. But this is where we are, and the question of whether Donald Trump will willingly submit to an interview from Robert Muellers Special Counsels office doesnt hinge on anything too complicated.
The president cannot do an interview with Robert Mueller because he isnt sane.
I dont need to sit down with Trump and do a psychological evaluation to know that he has highly peculiar traits, among which is an inability to cleanly divide fact from fiction. Perhaps he knew that he was peddling bullshit all along when he hyped the birth certificate controversy with President Obama. Perhaps he knows that hes gaslighting people when he says that hes been tougher on Russian that Obama ever was. Or maybe one part of his brain knows this, at least initially, and then that part of his brain becomes subsumed by another part of his brain that believe its own lies. What does Trump think about the size of his inaugural crowd? Has he convinced himself that he really, truly never once expressed doubt that the Russians interfered in our election?
If he were more cunning and in control of his own thoughts, it might be possible for him to talk to prosecutors and stick to the truth. This would be highly embarrassing for him because hed have to admit to telling hundreds of lies that pertain to the Russia investigation. For just one example, hed have to argue that he of course crafted a completely dishonest account of the purpose of the Trump Tower meeting his son, son-in-law and campaign chairman had with the Ru...
Remember when the Vietnam veteran Walter Sobchak and the pacifist Jeffrey The Dude Lebowski took a break from bowling to discuss the upcoming Persian Gulf War?
WALTER: Sure youll see some tank battles. But fighting in desert is very different from fighting in canopy jungle.
WALTER: I mean Nam was a foot soldiers war whereas, uh, this thing should be a fucking cakewalk. I mean I had an M16, Jacko, not an Abrams fucking tank. Just me and Charlie, man, eyeball to eyeball.
WALTER: Thats fuckin combat. The man in the black pajamas, Dude. Worthy fuckin adversary.
DONNY: Whos in pajamas, Walter?
WALTER: Shut the fuck up, Donny.
Sometimes I long for a worthy fuckin adversary. Lord knows, theres no dignity in fighting these assholes. One moment, Donald Trump Jr. is in India sounding like just maybe hes learned something from the trip.
I dont want to be glib but you can see the poorest of the poor and there is still a smile on a face I know some of the most successful businessmen in the world, and some of them are the most miserable people in the world.
And the next minute hes like, Time out, I gotta like these tweets about how this kid who survived the Parkland, Florida school shooting is running his mouth to cover for his dad who works in the FBI.
The only way Donald Trump Jr. will ever learn anything is if he spends a sustained period of time behind bars. For his father, even that would provide no cause for hope.
No scriptwriters could concoct a story as bad as the one were living through.
But the Coen Brothers did get one thing right.
Shut the fuck up, Donny.
We bought a new refrigerator about three weeks ago, I guess. Today it made a sound and I kind of freaked out for a second because I couldn't understand the source. It's the first time I've heard it make a noise and that's because I had minor surgery this morning on both my ears. I was almost deaf, and my hearing had been going downhill since I got a bad cold around Christmas time. The last time I could hear even halfway decently was about mid-January, so I've been living in this little cocoon. It's been horrible, and now I have some relief. I'll go back in a couple of weeks for a follow-up because there's some nerve damage that needs to be evaluated. My hearing is never going to be 100 percent again, and that's probably from going to so many concerts in my youth. But the cause is something we'll examine. In any case, I hope with my hearing mostly restored, my winning personality will come along with it. If I've been especially distant and grumpy, now you know why.
CNN has a reputation for manipulating their production of Town Hall events to support very specific political advocacy. One of the more famous examples was CNN contributor Donna Brazille giving Hillary Clinton questions in advance of a CNN political town Continue reading
Attendees of CNNs town hall on the Florida high school shooting booed NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch as she brought up pro-second amendment rape survivor Kimberly Corban.
Kimberley Corban was the victim of rape in 2006 while attending college at the University of Northern Colorado.
Daily Caller reports:
Kimberly Corban was raped when she was under 21 years old and is an outspoken supporter of the Second Amendment, saying she wishes she could have tried to fight off her attacker with a firearm. But I also think of young women, and youve had a previous town hall where you spoke with a young woman named Kim Corban, who was a college student who was brutally raped in her dorm and she was under the age of 21, Loesch said, referencing a CNN town hall where Corban asked a question of then-President Obama.
And one of the things that she speaks out about loudly now is how she wished she would have had the ability to have some sort a shotgun, whatever it was, to be able to defend herself, Loesch explained, before being cut off by the crowds boos.
Loesch was not only booed at the event, but the NRA spokesperson says attendees yelled burn her!
Loesch told CPAC she needed a private security detail to get out of the CNN town hall last night, reported ABC News Dan Linden.
I discuss the SPLCs hit list against Roosh at ROK:
Hate group lists compiled by the SPLC have been used by leftist criminals in the past to identify targets for assassination. For example, in 2013, a left-winger committed a mass shooting against the Family Research Council after seeing them named by the SPLC as an anti-gay group. More recently, weve seen leftists openly going after Republican politicians and public figures, such as the attempted assassination of House Majority Leader Steve Scalise by Bernie Sanders supporter James Hodgkinson.

In the United States, college athletes particularly those who compete at some of the largest football and basketball programs generate not millions but billions of dollars for universities, brands, and television networks. In 2015, the top programs made a combined $9.1 billion. The NCAA, for its part, just signed an $8.8 billion dollar deal with CBS to air March Madness, the college basketball championship tournament.
College sports is a business a very lucrative business.
That very obvious dynamic undergirds a lawsuit filed by former NCAA athlete Lawrence Poppy Livers asserting that scholarship students who play sports are employees and deserve pay. The Livers case argues that student-athletes who get scholarships should at least be paid as work-study students for the time they put in.
What the NCAA did in response to the lawsuit is as vile as anything going on in sports right now.
What the NCAA did in response to the lawsuit is as vile as anything going on in sports right now. I had to see it for myself before I believed it. At the root of its legal argument, the NCAA is relying on one particular case for why NCAA athletes should not be paid. That case is Vanskike v. Peters.
Only theres an important detail: Daniel Vanskike was a prisoner at Stateville Correctional Center in Joliet, Illinois, and Howard Peters was the Director of the state Department of Corrections. In 1992, Vanskike and his attorneys argued that as a prisoner he should be paid a federal minimum wage for his work. The court, in its decision, cited the 13th Amendment and rejected the claim.
The 13th Amendment is commonly hailed as the law that finally ended slavery in America. But the amendment has an important carve-out: it kept involuntary service legal for those who have been convicted of a crime. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction, the amendment says. Its that phrase except as a punishment for crime which allows American prisons to force their inmates to do whatever work they want or need them to do.
The use of the case stems from several oth...

Paul Sperry reports via Real Clear Investigations:
Special Counsel Robert Mueller is continuing to use a controversial 35-page dossier financed by the Democratic National Committee and the 2016 Hillary Clinton campaign as a road map for investigative leads, sources familiar with his investigation say.
Muellers team has also used information gleaned from surveillance court-approved wiretaps on former Trump adviser Carter Page that were secured by citing material in the dossier, the sources say.
Sources say Muellers office also inherited collections from a separate wiretap of Manafort, who, like Page, was the target of FBI eavesdropping during the election. (Manafort was indicted by Mueller for financial crimes unrelated to the Moscow collusion activities alleged against Manafort in the dossier.)
Sources add that Muellers investigators and prosecutors have access to any communications from Trump associates and officials swept up in the wiretaps of Page and Manafort. Trumps own communications may have been incidentally collected as a result of the questionable, dossier-based surveillance warrants.
President of Judicial Watch Tom Fitton summed it up in one perfect sentence, There is no Mueller investigation without the dossier.
It has been previously reported by many different news outlets that Mueller was relying on the dossier for his investigation, however; in light of the FISA memo released by the House Intel Committee and other reports, the fact that Mueller is still relying on the discredited dossier is raising eyebrows.
Tom Fitton has also questioned if Mueller has hired Christopher Steele or Fusion GPSs Glenn Simpson. What does Mueller know?
Congress must find out when Mueller learned that the dossier, which is apparently the basis for his entire investigation, was paid for by the DNC on behalf of the Clinton campaign....
A view of a classroom visited by Governor Ricardo Rossell and U.S. Education Secretary Besty DeVos in San Juan, Puerto Rico on Nov. 8, 2017.
A tectonic shift occurred in the Democratic Party. The Center for American Progress, the powerful center-left establishment organization which sees itself as the Democratic White House in exile, released their new Medicare Extra for All plan.
In many ways, it is nearly identical to the Medical Insurance and Care for All (MICA) plan put out by Shadowproof last year. That is truly remarkable.
CAPs plan would automatically make everyone eligible for a new and improved Medicare Extra, creating true universal coverage. Employers would have the option to buy Medicare Extra for their employees or buy private insurance at least as good. Most importantly, it would have the government drive down costs by setting provider rates for all payers.
This pulls the Overton window on health care dramatically to the left.
I will save analyzing the actual policy details for another day, since the much bigger story is what this says about the Democratic Party.
CAP was one of the main intellectual forces behind the Affordable Care Act (ACA). They helped write it, implement it, and sell it to the American people. They were one of the main organizations telling people on the left that the ACA exchanges could work well if we just gave it time and a few small fixes.
They were the group on the left which worked the hardest to convince both elected Democrats and regular voters that it was possible to effectively expand coverage using only loosely regulated private insurance marketplaces. They didnt frame the ACA as merely the least bad compromise that could get the votes in Congress, they told us it was actually good policy.
While CAP would never explicitly say it, by putting out this new proposal they are effectively admitting they were wrong for the past decade and their policy ideas failed.
Medicare Extra for All wouldnt just replace the structure of the ACA. It would replace all of the logical underpinnings of it. This is a massive ideological shift for CAP.
CAP moved from trying to control cost and expand coverage via the mechanism of consumer choice-driven marketplaces to realizing only the government can effectively control cost by directly negotiating rates via all-payer or single payer. They have abandoned the idea that real bipartisan action on health care is really possible.
The debate in Democratic circles is no longer whether the U.S. government should expand coverage via private insurance markets or public insurance. It is simply a debate over how far and how quickly to expand public insurance....
A new CNN report reveals South Florida law enforcement knew Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School gunman Nikolas Cruz had used a gun against people, months before the massacre.
Just months before Nikolas Cruz killed 17 at his former high school in South Florida, the host family who had taken him in immediately after his mothers death warned local law enforcement that the 19-year-old had used a gun against people before and has put the gun to others heads in the past, according to records obtained by CNN. Its the latest indication of how law enforcement encountered warning signs about Cruzs violent behavior before he attacked students and teachers at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Valentines Day. CNN has obtained records from the Palm Beach County Sheriffs Office that detail deputies interactions with Cruz in the home where he lived for a few weeks in November, before he moved in with another family, the Sneads, and months before the massacre.
The report raises questions as to why such details were not made public prior to CNNs town hall on gun control, where Broward Co. Sheriff Scott Israel called for a ban on all assault rifles.
This is absolutely insane. Why did local police fail to take any action in response to these red flags? And why didnt CNN press the Broward Co. sheriff for answers last night?? tweeted Gabby Morrongiello, the Washington Examiner s White House correspondent.

What's going on in this tweet from the NRA's video unit?
"The mainstream media love mass shootings. I'm going to say it again; the mainstream media love mass shootingsand you, the #MSM, just put out the casting call for the next mass shooter." @MrColionNoir #NRA pic.twitter.com/1XtqVoA23lNRATV (@NRATV) February 22, 2018
No one on this planet benefits more from mass shootings and motivates more people to become mass shooters than our mainstream media, Colion Noir, a gun rights activist, declared in a video published by NRA TV on Thursday. Sure, they love to get up in front of the camera and sell the lie that the mass shootings are all the NRAs fault, and falsely claim that the NRA is a soulless organization selling guns to killers for profit. But all my years of watching these events play out have led me to one conclusion: The mainstream media love mass shootings. The overt meaning of this video is clear: Hey, don't say the NRA profits off murder. You know who really profits off murder? The MSM! It's standard I'm-rubber-you're-glue right-wing rhetoric, like the conservative claim that liberals are the real racists and anti-white racism is America's biggest racial problem.
... Noir clarified that he doesnt believe that people in the media actively want innocent people to die, but that the media purportedly has an interest in these mass shootings happening because they drive a lot of traffic and views to news outlets. He describes the shootings as Game of Thrones, House of Cards, Seinfeld, and Friends in terms of ratings for the media.
... Noir goes on to claim that all of this attention to mass shootings may inspire more mass shooters. The shooters are the star. [The media] sensationalize everything about these killers, Noir said. And guess whos watching? Thats right. Another lonely, ignored, mentally disturbed psychopath looking to make a name for himself. And you, the mainstream media, just put out the casting call for the next mass shooter.
Haab is the brave 17-year-old member of the Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps who ushered 60 to 70 people to safety in an open JROTC room during the Parkland school shooting. His actions were so important that the US Military is currently considering awarding him with a JROTC Medal of Heroism.

The lead U.S. agency tasked with granting citizenship to would-be Americans is making a major change to its mission statement, removing a passage that describes the United States as a nation of immigrants. In an email sent to staff members Thursday and shared with The Intercept, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Director L. Francis Cissna announced the agencys new mission statement.
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services administers the nations lawful immigration system, safeguarding its integrity and promise by efficiently and fairly adjudicating requests for immigration benefits while protecting Americans, securing the homeland, and honoring our values.
USCISs previous mission statement, still available on the agencys website Thursday, read:
USCIS secures Americas promise as a nation of immigrants by providing accurate and useful information to our customers, granting immigration and citizenship benefits, promoting an awareness and understanding of citizenship, and ensuring the integrity of our immigration system.
Cissna went on to write, I believe this simple, straightforward statement clearly defines the agencys role in our countrys lawful immigration system and the commitment we have to the American people. The director highlighted, specifically, the removal of the word customers from the new mission statement, making the case that the word gave a false impression.
What we do at USCIS is so important to our nation, so meaningful to the applicants and petitioners, and the nature of the work is often so complicated, that we should never allow our work to be regarded as a mere production line or even described in business or commercial terms, Cissna wrote. In particular, referring to applicants and petitioners for immigration benefits, and the beneficiaries of such applications and petitions, as customers promotes an institutional culture that emphasizes the ultimate satisfaction of applicants and petitioners, rather than the correct adjudication of such applications and petitions according to the law. Critically, Cissna added, Use of the term leads to the erroneous belief that applicants and petitioners, rather than the American people, are whom we ultimately serve.

On Wednesday night CNN held an anti-gun town hall in Florida following the mass shooting by deranged 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz last week.
NRA spokesperson Dana Loesch was asked to participate in the panel discussion.
Dana Loesch told CPAC on Thursday morning that she was had to have security detail to get out.
You heard that town hall last night, they cheered the confiscation of firearms, she told conservatives at CPAC the next morning. And it was over 5K people. I had to have a security detail to get out. I wouldnt have been able to exit that if I did not have a private security detail. There were people rushing the stage and screaming burn her. And I came there to talk solutions.
Weve reached out to CNN for comment.
At CPAC this morning, Loesch warmed the hall, if it needed warming, before NRA chief Wayne LaPierre gave his traditional fiery stump speech. We will not be gaslighted into thinking we are responsible for the tragedy in Parkland, Florida, Loesch declared. We had nothing to do with it. It is not our job to follow up on red flags, not our job to make sure states are reporting to the background-check system.
Investigative journalist Laura Loomer attended the town
hall last night.
Laura has a 4 second video of a protester rushing the stage as the crowd chants, Shame on you!
Laura was being escorted out at the time so could not get a better clip.

Rep. Dan Kildee (D-MI) told CNN host John Berman Thursday that he opposes a ban on all semi-automatic weapons cheered at the CNN town hall Wednesday evening.
Partial transcript below:
BERMAN: What was interesting there Congressman is the crowd of several thousand people cheered wildly at the notion of banning every semi-automatic weapon. Youve proposed a ban on assault weapons, but you dont support a ban on every semi-automatic weapon, do you?
KILDEE: No, but I think the cheer gives you a sense of how frustrated people are. They want something done. My view is, lets do what we know makes sense. Close the gun show loophole.
BERMAN: Congressman, I guess what Im asking is, I think gun rights advocates point to something like that and say look they do want to talk away all of our guns. Look, no one is talking about confiscation. I know that much. But theyll point to that applause and say all those people say ban all semi-automatic weapons. Thats too far theyll say.

Back in the early 1950s, the U.S. conducted a furious bombing campaign during the Korean War, dropping hundreds of thousands of tons of ordnance, much of it napalm, on North Korea. The bombardment, worse than any country had received up to that point, excepting the effects of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, wiped out nearly every city in North Korea, contributing to well over a million civilian deaths. Because of the relentless bombing, the people were reduced to living in tunnels. Even the normally bellicose Gen. MacArthur claimed to find the devastation wreaked by the U.S. to be sickening.
Most controversially, both North Korea and China alleged that by early 1952, the U.S. was using biological or germ warfare weapons against both North Korea and China. The U.S. government has strenuously denied this.
Nevertheless, captured U.S. flyers told their North Korean and Chinese captors about the use of such weapons. Later, after the prisoners were returned to U.S. custody, counterintelligence experts and psychiatrists interrogated them. They were told under the threat of court martial to renounce their confessions about germ warfare. They all did so.
The Army Criminal Investigative Division officer in charge of interrogating returning prisoners, including airmen who confessed to use of biological weaponry on North Korea and China, was Army counter-intelligence specialist, Col. Boris Pash. Pash had previously been in charge of security for the most sensitive classified operations of the U.S. government in World War II. He was in charge of security at the Manhattan Projects Berkeley Radiation Laboratory. (The Manhattan Project was the U.S. crash program to develop the atomic bomb.)
In the immediate aftermath of the war, military intelligence officer Pash led the Alsos Mission, which searched for Nazi and Italian nuclear scientists and fissionable materials, as well as gathering intelligence about any enemy scientific research applicable to his military effort, including biological and chemical weapons.
To convince the world of the truth of their claim the U.S. had dropped biological weapons on their countries, and after turning down the suggestion that the International Red Cross look into the charges, the North Koreans and Chinese sponsored an investigating commission. Using the auspices of the World Peace Council, they gathered together a number of scientists from around the world, most of whom were sympathetic to either the Left or the peace movement. Most surprisingly, this commission, which came to be known as the Intern...

"I think Smedley Butler was onto something," explained Lawrence Wilkerson, in an extended interview with Salon.
In his day, in the early 20th century, Butler was the highest ranked and most honored official in the history of the U.S. Marine Corps. He helped lead wars throughout the world over a series of decades, before later becoming a vociferous opponent of American imperialism, declaring "war is a racket."
Wilkerson spoke highly of Butler, referencing the late general's famous quote: "Looking back on it, I might have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate his racket in three districts. I operated on three continents."
"I think the problem that Smedley identified, quite eloquently actually," Wilkerson said..."I think the problem is much deeper and more profoun...
In the wake of a Pennsylvania Supreme Court order that struck down a Republican congressional map as unconstitutionally gerrymandered, Sen. Pat Toomey said that impeachment of the justices is a conversation that has to happen.
The GOP map had given Republicans a nearly 3-1 congressional majority in a state that leans Democratic; the courts new map will still give Republicans a significant advantage, but slightly less of one. For Toomey, that amounted, he said, to a blatant, unconstitutional, partisan power grab that undermines our electoral process.
I think state House members, state senators, are going to be speaking among themselves and their constituents, Toomey said. Does that rise to the level of impeachment? Thats ultimately their decision but its a conversation that has to happen.
Sean Kitchen ? (@RCPress_Sean) February 21, 2018
The new map means several Republican incumbents now risk losing their seats, and a half-dozen competitive Republican-held congressional districts move left.
Toomeys floating of impeachment drags what had been a fringe position into the GOP mainstream. And the rhetoric is already intense. The Pennsylvania House Republican spokesman Wednesday morning called the judges unaccountable despots after drawing the new lines.
This is the most important bit from your story:
"None of the justices, or Persily, made themselves available for questioning Monday about how they came to their preferences, or even why they chose to renumber the districts across much of the state."

Get Me Outa Wakanda!bruce Thu, 02/22/2018 - 21:08
I finally got around to seeing the Black Panther movie Tuesday. Ive been black nearly seven decades. My blackness does not require affirmation from the Disney/Marvel Comics Universe, where Tony Stark is a greedy Pentagon contractor, where Captain America is a genetically modified organism, where the Wakandan king and the wannabe king both work with/for the CIA, and where Daredevils pals (season 1 episode 4) note that investigative reporting on teachers union scandals is as personally perilous as crossing the Mafia.
For those of us aiming to build a better world, this movie is nothing short of enemy propaganda.
In the Black Panther movie, all the Wakandan players are royalty, their counselors, their advisors or their rivals. All the strikingly beautiful and capable Wakandan women take orders from men. The only unambiguous good guy is the Frodo looking CIA agent. The homicidal Killmonger character is calculated to sully the very notion of black rebellion against unjust authority, while Pan Africanism and humanism are defecated upon from multiple angles. Cinematic bar fights, car chases and battle scenes are a dime a dozen, and worst of all Wakanda isnt even rendered in any visually inspiring way.
The movie disrespects its audience and is a standing insult to science fiction and afro futurism. As Dr. Jared Ball points out, we cant just go make and market another movie to compete with this one. Disney/Marvel Studios put tens of millions into the promotion of this thing alone, and for now millions of people are buying their message. Thats called cultural hegemony.

I watched Jim start his website and see it grow. Jim had a desire to tell the truth. He received no income for years but did gain a following and thousands of admirers. Little by little accolades came his way. One group from Israel, for example, liked what Jim posted and his support for Israel so they flew Jim and Andrew Breitbart and a few others to Israel to show them what Israel was up against in the Middle East. These US activists even had the opportunity to meet Prime Minister Netanyahu. Jim proudly shows that picture on his website banner to this day. It was one of many proud moments Jim had as a result of his desire to share that truth.
Years passed and Jim became more successful. During the months leading up to the 2016 election The Gateway Pundit (TGP) was on fire. Jim had jumped on the Trump train early. Seeing that only Trump could beat the Hillary Clinton machine. No other candidate had a chance. Hillarys challenger had to be an outsider who was bold, honest and willing to speak the truth about the Clintons and Obama. Trump did this and he won.
After the election TGP was rated the...

President Trump called out Fake News @CNN and @NBC for misconstruing his suggestions on how to better defend Americas schools and American children from deranged mass shooters.
President Trump wants to allow adept teachers to conceal
and carry so they can fire back at deranged sickos.
Most Americans would agree with him.
Donald Trump: I never said give teachers guns like was stated on Fake News @CNN & @NBC. What I said was to look at the possibility of giving concealed guns to gun adept teachers with military or special training experience only the best. 20% of teachers, a lot, would now be able to immediately fire back if a savage sicko came to a school with bad intentions. Highly trained teachers would also serve as a deterrent to the cowards that do this. Far more assets at much less cost than guards. A gun free school is a magnet for bad people. ATTACKS WOULD END!
History shows that a school shooting lasts, on average, 3 minutes. It takes police & first responders approximately 5 to 8 minutes to get to site of crime. Highly trained, gun adept, teachers/coaches would solve the problem instantly, before police arrive. GREAT DETERRENT! If a potential sicko shooter knows that a school has a large number of very weapons talented teachers (and others) who will be instantly shooting, the sicko will NEVER attack that school. Cowards wont go thereproblem solved. Must be offensive, defense alone wont work!

In last night's CNN gun forum, NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch
insisted that her organization cares deeply about keeping firearms
out of the hands of dangerous people. The Daily Caller reports:
... Loesch pointed to the failure of states to submit convictions to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System as a reason mentally ill and dangerous people are able to get their hands on guns. This morning, she followed up on Twitter.
This individual was nuts. And I, nor the millions of people that I represent as a part of this organization that Im here speaking for, none of us support people who are crazy, who are a danger to themselves, who are a danger to others getting their hands on a firearm, Loesch said. Do you know that it is not federally required for states to actually report people who are prohibited possessors, crazy people, people who are murderers? ...
How was he able to pass a background check? He was able to pass a background check because we have a system thats flawed. The Sutherland Springs murderer was able to pass a background check because the Air Force did not report that record, Loesch continued.
Here's the NRA website saying they don't support expanding background checks, directly contradicting what Dana Loesch just said. pic.twitter.com/E6k9GHg5VGCharlotte Alter (@CharlotteAlter) February 22, 2018
Your assertion is incorrect. Calling for states to comply with existing regulations re: reporting convictions to NCIC for NICS, the NRAs position for decades, is not this. NOTE: This is the text of my monologue from the most recent
episode of Heyoka Pod, Redman Trip
George Carlin once said that he never talked about politics because the only reason America had selfish, ignorant leaders was due to Americans themselves being selfish and ignorant. For that same reason, I dont complain about art. The reason modern art is bad is because modern artists, musicians, and writers are self-obsessed, gormless twits. As Carlin put it, this is the best we can do, folks.
Theres one girl my mind inevitably wanders to when I think about the emptiness of modern artists. She was an aspiring writer who glommed onto me like a remora, hoping to absorb my talent and success through osmosis. Her Black No. 1 hair dye and the Hot Topic wardrobe her mom paid for perfectly matched the pitch-black mole just off the coast of her lips. She had one of those weird asexual names like Madison, Aidan, or Bailey, the kind where you cant tell whether youre dealing with a boy or a girl.
I first met her when she slid into my DMs, telling me she wanted to interview me for her college paper. She had a tattoo on her bicep, proudly flaunting it on Twitter with the hashtag #NeverGettingMarried. She always got mad because I could never remember whether it was a dragon or a unicorn, because my eyes always wandered to that mole. Her tattoo was just a black outline because she couldnt afford to get it filled in. I asked her why she didnt just wait until shed saved up the money to get the whole thing, and she replied, But I really wanted this tattoo! Or more accurately, one-eighth of that tattoo.
One day, she sent me a link to her Tumblr blog, asking me what I thought of her posts. They were all about her favorite subject: herself. Her blog was nothing but navel-gazing on how badly she wanted to be a writer and how nervous she was about graduating college, even though the most adventurous thing shed ever done was bus tables at a Waffle House. This was my reply: Stop talking about yourself. Youre a 24-year old from Indiana. Youre not that interesting.
She told me to go fuck myself. I didnt speak to her for two months.
She messaged me asking how Id been, and I told her that things had gone south between me and another female writer, who shed been intensely jealous of after I told her to read that writers novel. Sensing her chance to become the millennial Amber ONeil, she came to visit me in Chicago for a weekend.
I ended up suppressing the memory of that weekend out of pure rage, like a porn star blacking out her childhood visits with Uncle Bad Touch. But...
I started The Gateway Pundit in 2004 out of love of country and the void of conservative voices online.
I started out with two readers a day my twin and a good friend
During the 2016 election The Gateway Pundit had a million readers a day.
In 2016 The Gateway Pundit was the fourth
most influential conservative news source.
Following the 2016 election Harvard and Columbia Journalism Review funded research (with money from the Soros Open Society) to find out what happened to dear Hillary.
What they found was that conservative Americans whole-heartedly rejected the liberal media and went online and to social media to find the truth.
(Behind Breitbart, FOX News, The Hill and, of course, Matt Drudge and The Drudge Report)
Since the election The Gateway Pundit has been continually
blocked and shadow-banned by Facebook, shadow-banned by Twitter,
sued and ridiculed by the far left and GOP elites.
Despite this our traffic continued to grow in 2017.
I have faced much abuse from the left during my time as a
I have been insulted, smeared, threatened, targeted, ripped off, shadow-banned, neglected, sued and verbally abused.
My dear friend and American treasure Pamela Geller asked to
organize a panel on Social Media Targeting this year at CPAC.
This IS the most important issue facing American conservatives today.
The elites did not want to be bothered with this.
They know nothing of this.
CPAC strung her along for six months giving her several excuses, making her dance like a monkey and hoping she would withdrawal her request.
Then a week before the conference after she turned in the names of her panelists they called Pamela back and told her they did not want Jim Hoft on the panel because he supports Nazis.
As I said before, I have been abused plenty in the 14 years I have been blogging, but never have I been accused of being a Nazi...
FOMO (fear of missing out) has solidly trumped WTHIT (what the hell is this??). When the history is written, cryptocurrencies will likely be described as one of the most brilliant scams in history. . . .Which led Matt Levine to write this:
We all laugh at primitive tribes which used large stones (or pigs) as currency. Well, laugh as you will, but a stone or a healthy pig is something. Cryptocurrencies are nothing except the marketing power of inventors, financiers and others who love the idea of buying a black box (which is obviously empty) for the price of a Kia and dreaming that it will turn into a Mercedes. There have been times recently when this dream has materialized within hours. This is not just a bubble. It is not just a fraud. It is perhaps the outer limit, the ultimate expression, of the ability of humans to seize upon ether and hope to ride it to the stars.
I mean look. If I told you "X is a scam," you probably wouldn't buy X, because you are a savvy Money Stuff reader and you don't buy into scams. But maybe you should! What if I told you "X is a really good scam, and it's just getting started"? The stereotypical pump-and-dump scheme starts with some fraudster hyping a stock, and ends with a bunch of retail investors holding the bag when that stock crashes. But in between there are usually savvy people who buy the stock on the hype, knowing that it's a scam, but believing correctly that they'll be able to sell it to someone else on the way up and get out before the crash. Sometimes the right trade is to short a scam, but often it's to go along with the scam for a while.
But cryptocurrencies, in Elliott's telling, are not just a scam, or a good scam. They are "one of the most brilliant scams in history." What else is on that list? I like Yuval Noah Harari's argument, in "Sapiens," that Homo sapiens's major advantage as a species is our ability to generate collective fictions . . .
Harari argues that fiction "has enabled us not merely to imagine things, but to do so collectively," and thus given us "the unprecedented ability to cooperate flexibly in large numbers." Harari's list of powerful fictions includes religion, nation-states, human rights, money and the limited liability corporation. Laugh as you will, but the limited liability corporation is not a stone, or a healthy pig. It is just an example of the ability of humans to generate abstract concepts and use them to coordinate action, "to seize upon ether and hope to ride it to the stars." Viewed in a certain light the corporation, or money, or nation-states, or religion, are some "of the most brillia...

I got a lot wrong in this post, but I was right to predict
that Loesch wouldn't attack the students and parents. She faked a
lot of concern she doesn't have, and pretended that the NRA cares
about keeping guns out of the hands of dangerous people when it's
never cared about that. I love the Parkland kids, but I wish one of
them had known how much she was distorting her history, and the
NRA's. Jake Tapper, the moderator, surely knows -- I wish he'd said
something. But I assume he thought it was his job to moderate, not
to weigh in.
This will be unpleasant:
The National Rifle Association will participate in CNN's nationally televised town hall Wednesday with students, parents and community members who were affected by last week's school shooting....Loesch is a nasty piece of work, but she's a pro -- I strongly suspect she'll have the sense not to attack student survivors or their parents. I assume she'll just devote all her airtime to demonizing people who aren't there to defend themselves. Among her likely targets will be celebrities who've given money to the upcoming March for Our Lives. (Expect the canned talking point that rich celebrities like George Clooney and Oprah have armed bodyguards, so why shouldn't ordinary Americans have ... um, armed teachers?) She might scapegoat video games and movies and TV, and have the gall to accuse the news media of sowing division. She'll definitely use the word "evil" a lot. She'll probably attack the godless secular culture (opening phrase of the recent New York Times profile of Loesch: "Dana Loesch has a biblical inscription tattooed on her forearm"). And she might try to take the moral high ground (yes, from people who've just endured a massacre of children) by bringing this up:
The NRA accepted CNN's invitation to participate in the town hall and national spokeswoman Dana Loesch will represent the organization.
In [her] book, she recalled her grandfather standing on the porch one night with a shotgun in his hands. In Michigans gubernatorial Democratic primary in August, voters will get to choose between two competing visions for health care.
Former executive director of the Detroit Health Department, Abdul El-Sayed, has a simple plan: cover every Michigander in one public program with single-payer health insurance. His opponent, former Senate Democratic Leader Gretchen Whitmer, does not support single payer and rather wants to continue to build on the Affordable Care Act.
Insurance giant Blue Cross Blue Shield Michigan isnt leaving things things to chance, and has decided to weigh in heavily against El-Sayeds candidacy.
On official Whitmer letterhead, bluesPAC, the companys corporate fundraising vehicle, blasted out an invitation for a major fundraiser on March 7th. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan plays a major role in Michigans economy and the health of Michigans citizens, it notes. The vibrancy of Michigans economic climate is driven by public policy put forward by our states Governor; and we believe Gretchen Whitmer will be a great leader for Michigan.
The invite is signed by Lynda Rossi, executive vice president of strategy, government and public affairs at Blue Cross Blue Shield Michigan.
The Intercept received a copy, which we have pasted below. Note that while the invite is signed by senior lobbyists with the insurer, it is paid for by Whitmers campaign:
Blue Cross spokeswoman Helen Stojic confirmed to The Intercept that the Whitmer campaign paid for the mailer, but did so in coordination with bluesPAC. The letter was paid for by the Whitmer campaign. bluesPAC gave one-time permission to this campaign to use addresses of bluesPAC members to invite them to the event, she wrote in an e-mail.
She insisted that bluesPAC does not host fundraisers on its own but that the event is instead hosted by its officers. This event is hosted by the officers of the bluesPAC, not bluesPAC, she told us. The officers believe her background in the state legislature has provided her with a good understanding of the states needs, including concern about the health of Michigan residents. The officers provided an opportunity for bluesPAC members...

Prigozhins called Putins chef even though he apparently doesnt cook and caterer-government contractor appears more accurate. Oleg Maksakov an activist from Open Russia was beaten on Monday (Feb.19) in St. Petersburg. Two attackers assaulted him when he left his home. They did not rob him. He connects the attack with his protest activities. Maksakov repeatedly organized anti-war actions. This is not the first attack on the opposition in St. Petersburg recently. In October, activist of Solidarity Vladimir Shipitsin was beaten. In January, during a demonstration in support of a Russian election boycott, unknown persons attacked human rights activist Dinar Idrisov. Additional charges have been made against Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort over the last week, both sealed and unsealed. He apparently is still in possession of his Trump Tower Apartment, because according to a document, regarding his bail, filed last week, Trump Tower apartment, New York. Manafort claims a residual equity value of [redacted] in this property. However, the government understands from the bank holding the mortgage, UBS, [redacted]. Thus, here too there is a risk of bank foreclosure, which would undermine the propertys market value Significantly, Manafort does not propose any sureties to make up the difference in the effective equity value of the property he proposes as security and the $10 million bond. The fact. that Manafort has not been able to find any responsible surety to cosign a bond for this package suggests that neither those closest to him, nor anyone else, is willing to assume the risk of being a surety for him. Further, the proposed package is deficient in the governments view, in light of additional criminal conduct that we have learned since the Courts initial bail determination. That criminal conduct includes a series of bank frauds and bank fraud conspiracies, including criminal conduct relating to the mortgage on the Fairfax property, which Manafort seeks to pledge.

Though Parkland student Colton Haab is being recognized nationally as a hero, CNN opted to leave him out of Wednesdays town-hall event on Wednesday evening seemingly because his perspective does not fit the narrative they have been peddling.
Haab is the brave 17-year-old member of the Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps who ushered 60 to 70 people to safety in an open JROTC room during the Parkland school shooting. The high school junior may have saved many lives by using the Kevlar sheets from the marksmanship program to try and protect his peers. His actions were so important that the US Military is currently considering awarding him with a JROTC Medal of Heroism.
Despite his heroism, the student told the Local 10 News that he was not allowed to ask his prepared questions at the CNN event.
Mark Dice (@MarkDice) February 22, 2018
CNN had originally asked me to write a speech and questions and it ended up being all scripted, Haab told a WPLG reporter.
Haab had been planning to speak on school safety and the possibility of using veterans as armed security guards.
When he found out that the questions would all be scripted, he opted out of going entirely.
Haab recently thanked th...
In an effort to keep the Daily Open Thread a little more open topic we are going to start a new daily thread for Presidential Politics. Please use this thread to post anything relating to the Donald Trump Administration and Continue reading
Last week, Muellers team told a judge that it had evidence Manafort committed bank fraud, and news organizations have reported that the special counsel may be preparing additional charges."The ultimate goal? The goods on Kushner and Monday evening CNN reported that "Mueller's interest in Jared Kushner has expanded beyond his contacts with Russia and now includes his efforts to secure financing for his company from foreign investors during the presidential transition, according to people familiar with the inquiry." That would be China. And the Arabs.
Last Friday, a federal grand jury sitting in Washington, D.C., indicted 13 Russian nationals and three Russian corporations for conspiracy and for using false instruments and computer hacking so as to influence the American presidential election in 2016. The indictment alleges a vast, organized and professional effort, funded by tens of millions of dollars, whereby Russian spies passed themselves off as Americans on the internet, on the telephone and even in person here in the U.S. to sow discord about Hillary Clinton and thereby assist in the election of Donald Trump.
Though an indictment is a charge only, it presumably relies on hard evidence of a wide and deep Russian project so wide and so deep that it could only have been approved and paid for by the Kremlin. President Trumps national security adviser, Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster, characterized the allegations in the indictment as incontrovertible. The New York Times reported over the weekend that its Russian sources have now revealed that more than 1,000 people in Russia were involved for over three years.
The project was run out of an office building in St. Petersburg, Russia, which also houses the Kremlins favorite caterer, a company owned by one of Russian President Vladimir Putins close friends. The techniques outlined in the indictment include using false and fictitious names, bank accounts and websites; organizing rallies and marches in the U.S.; making thousands of phony web posts; and aggressively revealing embarrassing data about Clinton.
The Russian work even included the orchestration of a few pro-Clinton rallies so as to deflect suspicion away from all these new pro-Trump entities that appeared to have come out of nowhere.
Though Donald Trump told folks as far back as 2011 of his interest in running for president and though Clinton ran in the Democratic primaries in 2008 and 2016, as well as in the general election in 2016, the Russian scheme appears to have materialized at some point in 2014.
The dates are important because we know from the revelations of Edward Snowden that the National Security Agency, the federal governments domestic spying apparatus, began its pursuit of capturing all electronic data on everyone in the U.S. in 2001 and succeeded in mastering the capture of all keystrokes, telephone calls and digital traffic by 2005. We also know that the NSA traffic proceeds through FBI computers and that the CIA keeps constant tabs on Russian spies in Russia and elsewhere.
Why didnt the CIA or the NSA or the FBI pick this up?
That is the $64,000 question that the indictment does not address, and we may never know the answer to it. If the purpose of all the warrantless spying in direct contravention of the Constitution, no less is to keep the country safe from foreign assault, whether by bombs in a...
As always happens in the wake of a mass shooting, last week when Nikolas Cruz murdered 17 people at his former Florida high school, commentators spared not a moment to take to the airwaves to bemoan the governments alleged inattentiveness to the issue of mental health or mental illness.
And Republicans, i.e. self-described conservatives, were at least as prone as their liberal Democratic counterparts to offer this response.
Few people think through the implications of this lineyet there are many.
First, it is telling that the proponents of limited government and personal accountability should lament what they evidently think is a failure on the part of the federal government to be sufficiently aggressive in tampering with the minds of its citizens.
Second, the federal government has already spent, and continues to spend, billions of dollarsall taxpayers monies, bear in mindon mental health services. Yet conservative Republicans dont think that the Therapeutic State is expansive enough.
Third, those who insist upon identifying mental health as the cause, or at least a cause, of mass shootings, usually do so only with respect to: (a) a certain class of mass shootingsschool shootings; and (b) a certain class of shootersyoung, predominantly white, school shooters.
When suspected Islamic terrorists drive a truck into a crowd, fly jets into skyscrapers, or shoot up a military installation, there is remarkably little said about the mental health challenges of the perpetrators. When non-white gangbangers, irrespectively of their ages, or organized criminals of any ethnicity or age commit atrocities, no one talks about mental health.
This is telling, for what it suggests is that like, say, climate change and gun-control, the elasticity of the term mental health may very well be the product of design, providing as it does a justification for the potentially limitless centralization of government authority and equally limitless consolidation of government power over every facet of the lives of its citizens.
For the social engineer who aches to fundamentally transform society, the concept of mental health is indispensable. Yet its also invaluable inasmuch as its immense broadness permits the engineer to exploit it as selectively as the political circumstances demand: Since public sensibilities (at least at present) promise to be offended by the suggestion that the 9/11 hijackers, ISIS, Hitler, Stalin, Mao, and mob hitmen are mentally ill, the engineer can simply cast his net elsewhere, toward the Adam Lanzas and Nikolas Cruzes of the world.
There are still yet other disturbing implications of the concept of mental health or mental illness.
We have always heard that a determined government prosecutor can indict a ham sandwich, and now we know its true. After 38 years in the prosecution racket, Robert Mueller just made his biggest score everthat is, he nailed a great big Nothingburger.
But he also did a lot more than that. Muellers 37-page comic book indictment actually unmasksinadvertently to be surethe distinctly un-terrifying essence of the whole Russian meddling narrative. In fact, the crude social media emissions (ads and posts) of the so-called troll farm were generally lame, often laughable and sometimes downright ludicrous as per this gem cited by Mueller:
a. On or about October 16, 2016, Defendants and their co-conspirators used the ORGANIZATION-controlled Instagram account Woke Blacks to post the following message: [A] particular hype and hatred for Trump is misleading the people and forcing Blacks to vote Killary. We cannot resort to the lesser of two devils. Then wed surely be better off without voting AT ALL.
Notwithstanding the grave nomenclature of BLOCK CAPITALS, endless sinister on or about events and 99 numbered paragraphs of particulars, the true bill (charging document) is actually just a random catalogue of social media trivia like the above Woke Blacks post.
Most of the cited gleanings amounted to crude word bombs, often in broken English, that presumably even Kim Kardashians 59 million Twitter followers could see through.
Hillary is a Satan, and her crimes and lies had proved just how evil she is
The lions share of these postings and ads probably disappeared into cyberspace like the sound of a falling tree in an empty forest, anyway. According to Facebook itself, the seemingly ubiquitous social media ad campaign despicted in the indictment was nothing of the kind. It actually amounted to just 3,000 placements at a cost of $100,000more than half of which were purchased after the election, and 25% of which ended-up in its dead letter office (unread).
Likewise, the handful of efforts to actually stimulate pro-Trump rallies in Florida and elsewhere were abject failures. As we document below, the Russians had absolutely no ground game in the US and any third-rate campaign consultant will tell you that ads alone do not produce crowds. In fact, there is virtually no evidence that anyone showed up at the rallies cited by Mueller.
Besides, the overwhelming share of the pro-Trump social media postings uncovered by Muellers sleuths amounted to copy and paste relays of current partisan talking points. Thus, the indictment cites such...
Its sort of silly that it matters. The United States bombed North Korea flat with ordinary, non-bioweapons bombs. It ran out of standing structures to bomb. People lived in caves, if they lived. Millions died, most of them from regular old non-scandalous but mass-murderous bombs (including, of course, Napalm which melts people but doesnt give them exotic diseases). North Koreans to this day live in such terror of a repetition of history that their behavior is sometimes inexplicable and bewildering to Americans whose knowledge of history comes from watching game shows.
Yet there is something powerful in its impact on self-deluded believers in the goodness of U.S. wars about the fact that the United States tried to spread diseases like bubonic plague in North Korea. So, its worth spreading awareness that this indeed happened. A great help in that project has just been provided by Jeffrey Kaye, who has just posted online an important report that has been largely unavailable for decades. The report was produced in 1952 at the request of the North Korean and Chinese governments by a commission that included prominent scientists from Sweden, Brazil, France, and Italy, and was headed by Sir Joseph Needham, one of the most prominent and respected British scientists ever. (His New York Times obituary doesnt say whether the commissions conclusions were accurate. His Independent obituary suggests that the commission got it right. His WikiPedia entry predictably announces that the commission was completely wrong, and backs this up with that popular WikiPedia citation: citation needed.) Yeah, it just became even more badly needed.
The report that Kaye has made available to us is thorough and well-researched, and it concludes that indeed the U.S. used germ warfare. It played a very minor role in the mass-slaughter. But it played a role.
It played a larger role in U.S. culture and government going forward. The latter invented the concept of brain washing to explain away the testimony of U.S. pilots who confessed to their participation in bio-warfare. Then the CIA spent many years (and cos...
Our Father, which art in Washington: on Jesuss rejection of political power
I frequent The Saker website for analysis that is insightful and frequently intelligently contradicts the mainstream media narrative found on the primary promoted Google News sites and television networks. For example, Saker posted on the recent escalation in Syria that should be required reading for anyone who wants to make sense of recent events and possible dangerous outcomes.
Yet in addition to such political and military analysis, The Saker also posts Orthodox Christian writings that I am unfamiliar with. What caught my attention was this monograph he recently posted, Christ the Savior and the Jewish Revolution, by His Eminence Metropolitan Anthony (Khrapovitsky) of Kiev and Galicia (1863-1936), written right after the Bolshevik takeover of Russia. Although focused on the Bolsheviks and providing an interpretation of historical events, this essay is crucial, I believe, to understanding the mentality to this day that both misunderstands and rejects the essential perspective of Jesus in combatting oppressive power. Even if one is not a believer, he should consider reading this work to gain understanding on the reason why Jesus was rejectedcertainly by not all, but by so manyand why there wasand is to this daygreat hostility to Him, and the consequences that occur when His way is not followed:
Thus, the silence of certain of the evangelists concerning what the fourth [Gospel] makes clear depends upon the Jewish revolution which was coming to ripeness in the Saviors time, and which was directed by the Sanhedrin. From the Gospel episodes cited above, another truth, unremarked by biblical science, also becomes clearthat the Jewish revolution came into extremely close contact with the earthly life of Christ the Savior and in general defined by itself (of course with the particular permission of God) many of the events of the Gospel; further on we shall see that it was the principal reason for the arousing of the hatred of the people against Christ, which brought Him to be crucified.
I will quote an extensive excerpt that makes clear, in the interpretation of Metropolitan Khrapovitsky, what was the origin of this dissent and hostility against Jesus:
The Lord did not answer their question, but reproved them: Ye seek Me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled. Labor not for the food which perisheth, but for that food which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of m...
Schopenhauer said that the world exists as our representation. No where is this more true than in the field of history. Yet God has not shared with humanity His prerogative of creation-from-nothing rather, even in the world of fiction we are but sub-creators, building our worlds up from the elements of thought and language with which our Creator has endowed us. Moving beyond fiction we come to history and journalism, where we may bring our narrative style to the table of fact, but we are forbidden to create fables. None the less, the falsification of history by a sinful humanity is ubiquitous to the point that even the best chronicles contain a great deal of myth. Contrary to the expectations of the Enlightenment, this promiscuous myth-building has not been dispelled by the dawn of scientific historiography or the rise of quantitative methods in the social sciences. Rather, increased sophistication of technique has led only to larger and more comprehensive myths.
As Jaques Elul would no doubt reminds us, we have long since passed through the ominous portals of the Propaganda Age and are now deep into its final, most degenerate stage. And was it not another Frenchman, Malbranch, who assured us,
Fear not that I will lead you into a strange country
Perchance I will teach you that you are a stranger in your own country
Alas, and passing strange would it be if this very America that we claim to know and love is little more than a tissue of myths held up for our mental adoration. Yet that is the very claim of those who are generously denominated the leftthose who have reduced the early history of Anglo-America to little more than caracature, a semi-comic tableau of Delaware crossings, cherry tree choppings, of log cabins and caps made from the fur of raccoons. Against this bathos they juxtapose the high seriousness of critical history, with terse chronicles of minorities and women struggling for various quanta of equality along a variety of indicators. In all this struggle between the comic and the tragic side of American history, the left fails to tell us that it is they, not conservatives, who are really teaching us only the expurgated and trite Classics, and that we are not supposed to raise any embarrassing questions about the origins of our actual social order, not quite the ominous New World Order but the socialized American order, one settling into a cantankerous middle age.
This is quite marvelous, since we are forever hearing that the left is the sworn enemy of Classicism, and champions of the raw, the real, and the contemporary. Yet the truth is almost the exact opposite. The left is loath to depart from the most ancient and shop worn narratives of early America. It avoids talking about recent times, at least anything which is...
DOJ statement and indictments reveal the extent and motivations of Russian interference in 2016 election. Claims of a hoax in tatters. My take: Implausible that Russian actions did not influence the views and votes of at least some Americans.
February 16, 2018 Tweet by Embittered Obama Spy Chief John O. Brennan
There can be no doubt that panic is rapidly setting in amongst the principal players of the neo-leftist Obama-Clinton-Democrat crime cabal that has largely been consigned to watching impotently from the sidelines as the central pillar of their plot to frame and take down President Donald J. Trump the Trump-Russia collusion hoax has now begun to crash down on top of them.
At the heart of this Obama-Clinton-Democrat FBI-DOJ-CIA-FISA Court cabal is the originator of the Trump-Russia collusion hoax himself, the deepest deep state denizen of the bunch, former CIA Director John O. Brennan.
As our countrys Russian Collusion Hoaxmaster General John Brennan has good reason to be worried.
Best known for indulging Obamas most evil compulsions as Obamas 2nd-term CIA chief, Brennan was just freshly-minted as an NBC News shill (shocking) under the title senior national security and intelligence analyst.
It is obvious to anyone near Brennan that he is now bitter, acrimonious, hellbent on malicious retribution and likely the Obama-Clinton coup plotter with the most to fear should President Trump, and a newly-inspired, freshly-fumigated DOJ actually perform its constitutional duty and prosecute these manipulative Obama-Clinton gangsters.
Thanks to the unflappable courage of the House Intelligence Committee Chairman and astute, stalwart truth-seeker Devin Nunes, John Brennans legal jeopardy is real and the most immediate of all the Obama-Clinton sedition mechanics.
Investigative journalist Paul Sperry broke the news last week that Nunes is initiating an investigation into Brennans central and leading role in promoting and leaking the dirty dossier in a manic effort to smear Donald Trump with any and every means at Brennans disposal. (Just consider the import of this proposition, given that Brennan was the DIRECTOR OF THE CIA!).
It is almost certain that Brennan perjured himself before the House Intelligence Committee in May 2017, at minimum, when he denied knowledge of the origin of the Steele dossier and that it was in any way used in the intelligence community assessment that the Russians were attempting to influence the 2016 election, specifically via the Trump Campaign.
Brennan testified that: the information...
Americas ruling class has a curious attitude to democracy. It seems to be interpreted as something thats good for the US and its allies but bad for critters who wont accept their role in the America-led international order.
First off, let me be clear. I think all foreign electoral interference is wrong. In any country. And if its eventually proven that Russians meddled in Americas 2016 presidential election, I certainly wont condone it. But Ive have always doubted that the Russian state organized some heinous plan to tilt the contest to Donald Trump, so Ill be shocked if something of this nature is ever proven.
Instead, Ive always imagined the greatest extent of Russian interference was probably some half-baked playing around by private individuals. Something akin to a social media marketing campaign, as the New Yorkers Adrian Chan believes. And on a relatively minute scale, to boot. Because given the billions of dollars swirling around American stumping anything bar a full-scale FSB/GRU, all-hands-on-deck operation would probably amount to little more than a hill of beans.
By the same token, I was stunned back in 2011 when the Moscow Times (a pro-US title, overwhelmingly written by Westerners, despite its name) reported how ex-vice president Joe Biden had told fringe Russian opposition figures that it would be better for Russia if Putin did not run in the 2012 election. Indeed, when you see the opprobrium directed today towards US Green leader Jill Stein for once attending an RT banquet where Putin was present, its shows one hell of a double standard.
Being relatively new to Russia in those days, and far from Moscow, it also seemed bizarre when then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton called for a full investigation of alleged irregularities in 2011s parliamentary elections. And, even more absurd, that she did it in front of Sergei Lavrov, Russias foreign minister, at an OSCE meeting attended by 56 countries. Indeed, it seemed like a teacher wagging her finger at an errant student in front of his classmates, and not how youd interact with the emissary of a powerful country.
At the time, something interesting happened. Many of my then-relatively new Russian friends had expressed c...
With all the column inches spilled over Robert Muellers thirteen indictments issued on Friday very few of them have touched on the real revelation.
It isnt the admission that no one on the Trump team knowingly colluded with Russian agents to influence the outcome of the 2016 election.
It isnt even that Former FBI Director Andrew McCabe doctored interview documents to secure a guilty plea from General Michael Flynn.
Its not obvious collusion between his investigation and the media to hang a duly-elected President in the court of public opinion.
The real revelation with Muellers indictments is that they represent the depths of how far our system has fallen from the ideals and principles it was founded upon.
The U.S. as a society exists solely for the purpose of the powerful to score cheap political points in the service of accumulating more power.
Anything or anyone that says no to that will be hounded via a set of Byzantine rules by corrupt thugs like Mueller who feel no shame whatsoever in presenting the most laughable charges as credible in public to serve a predetermined outcome.
In this case, impeach a President and over-turn an election.
Shadows Over Parkland
That Mueller went public with these indictments the same day the FBI was having literally the worst day in the agencys history only underscores the depths to which he and those who he represents will sink to deflect blame.
While people are calling for FBI Director Christopher Wrays head over the agencys botched handling of the shooter in the Parkland, Florida tragedy, Mueller hastily puts out, on a Friday no less, an announcement of his big catches in his Russian collusion investigation.
The message from Assistant Attorney General Rod Rosensteins presentation was simple. The FBI and the Department of Justice care more about our images than we do about protecting your children from senseless violence.
If Mueller had gone public with these indictments on any other day the peals of laughter would have been deafening. But, as it stands, all that happened was the red-pilling of even more of this countrys center.
So many people are governed by their normalcy bias. They place themselves in another persons position and believe someone like Mueller is acting the way they would.
This is why its so easy for people to dismiss seeing these coincidences as a conspiracy theory.
But, the problem with that is th...
Stock markets have settled down after an awful couple of weeks earlier this month. On Feb. 5, the Dow Jones suffered its largest-ever drop in terms of points. It was down 1,600 at one point and ultimately lost 1,175.21 points, a 4.6% drop that day. At one point during that week, the Dow was off 10% in correction territory. But everything is calm now and most of the mainstream is once again feeling bullish and optimistic.
Peter Schiff spoke at the Vancouver Resource Investment Conference 2018 last month before the market tanked. But his message remains relevant in the aftermath of the plunge and the subsequent recovery because the dynamics in the market remain pretty much the same. Conditions are still ripe for a 1987-style market crash.
Investors have not been this optimisticsince 1987. They are even more optimistic than they were at the height of the technology bubble, the dot-com bubble, the new era. Of course, 1987 didnt end well, right? We had a stock market crash, and theres a lot about whats happening today that reminds me about what was happening in 87.
Highlights from the Speech
The economy has not improved under Trump. We dont have a booming economy. I mean, Trump keeps telling us we have a booming economy, but nothing is booming.
When Donald Trump was a candidate for president, he said that the unemployment numbers were phony. They were fake. They were a fraud. They were a con. He said the real unemployment rate is 30%, 40%. Now, every time there is an unemployment number that comes out, hes tweeting about how great it is we have this record low unemployment and we should all give him credit for it.
Now, the tax cuts, are they going to grow the economy? No! Because they didnt cut government spending. See, you dont get government for nothing. Taxes pay for government. But if you cut taxes and you dont cut government, how do you pay for that government?
I believe the debt and inflation we have to create to finance the tax cuts will be a bigger drag on the economy than the tax cuts are a boost.
Where there will be growth is in the budget deficits and that kind of is where I see some of the similarity now in the 1980s 1987 because these big budget deficits are going to be a big problem.
Rather than having continuous economic growth, I think the economy is going into recession. Now, I believe that had Donald Trump lost that election, the US would already be in recession. I think we were clearly headed to recession before he won. And when he won, he created this huge burst of misplaced optimism t...
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has yet again been caught exaggerating global warming by fiddling with the raw temperature data.
This time, that data concerns the recent record-breaking cold across the northeastern U.S. which NOAA is trying to erase from history.
If you believe NOAAs charts, there was nothing particularly unusual about this winters cold weather which caused sharks to freeze in the ocean and iguanas to drop out of trees.
Here is NOAAs January 2018 chart for Northeast U.S. an area which includes New England along with NY, PA, NJ, DE and MD.
Youd never guess from it that those regions had just experienced record-breaking cold, would you?
Thats because, as Paul Homewood has discovered, NOAA has been cooking the books. Yet again presumably for reasons more to do with ideology than meteorology NOAA has adjusted past temperatures to look colder than they were and recent temperatures to look warmer than they were.
Were not talking fractions of a degree, here. The adjustments amount to a whopping 3.1 degrees F. This takes us well beyond the regions of error margins or innocent mistakes and deep into the realm of fiction and political propaganda.
Homewood first smelt a rat when he examined the New York data sets.
He was particularly puzzled at NOAAs treatment of the especially cold winter that ravaged New York in 2013/14, which he describes here:
The cold weather really began on Jan 2nd, when an Arctic front descended across much of the country, and extended well into March.
The NWS wrote at the end of the winter:
The winter of 2013-14 finished as one of the coldest winters in recent memory for New York State. Snowfall across Western and North Central New York was above normal for many areas, and in...
Smoke billows from a herb burner filling the Spirit Room with an eerie haze.
A woman stands over Hollywood actress Megan Duffy chanting and shaking a rattle carved with a head inspired by shamanic art, as her client lies motionless on a narrow bed.
The tension in the air is thick as the healer places an ornate dagger on Duffys wrist and, breathing deep, rapid breathes, summons higher beings from the spirit world, asking them to rid her body of evil demons.
The woman carrying out the working is Rachel Stavis the worlds only non-denominational Exorcist.
And in a television first DailyMailTV was invited to witness Stavis carry out a real-life Hollywood exorcism.
We watched as Stavis worked on actress Duffy best known for starring alongside Elijah Wood in 2012 horror movie Maniac ridding her of an evil entity that she believes has attached itself to her.
Stavis says Duffy has a Clive, the name she gives to low-level, low energy entities or demons that have caused the actress to feel negative and down in the dumps of late.
Stavis, dubbed the Sister of Darkness, has gone public with her extraordinary gift with the release of her new book: Sister of Darkness The Chronicles of a Modern Exorcist.
The horror screenwriter and novelist has secretly been an exorcist to the stars for years, helping Hollywoods elite to get rid of their demons.
She has cleansed thousands of tormented people from Hollywood moguls, actors and actresses to stay-at-home moms and politicians.
Stavis, 39, has never advertised her services and works pro bono, first starting her hobby by helping possessed friends and family in her spare time.
But word soon spread around Hollywood about her unusual gift and now she has a waiting list of mostly high profile clients all desperate to be cleansed.
My clients range all over the place, but I do see a lot of people youd think of as famous, she says.
I see heads of studios, rock icons, Oscar winners, politicians, I see all kinds of people, I also see the girl next door and this grandma and regular people who are suffering as well.
Most peoples knowledge of the subject comes from watching hit 1973 supernatural horror film The Exorcist.

Cameron Kasky, 17-year-old junior at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School who survived the Parkland, Florida school shooting by a former student that killed 17 students and faculty last Wednesday ripped into Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) at a CNN town hall Wednesday night in Sunrise, Florida, telling Rubio he sees gunman Nikolas Cruz when he looks at Rubio.
Kasky, who is one of the leaders of the March for Our Lives movement that sprung up overnight after the school massacre, said to Rubio while standing face to face with him, Senator Rubio its hard to look at you and not look down the barrel of an AR-15 and not look at Nikolas Cruz, but the point is youre hereand there are some people who are not.
Kasky debated Rubio for several minutes, unsuccessfully trying to get him to renounce support from the NRA, which gave Rubio $9,900 in contributions in 2016 though its political action committee. Kasky also insulted NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch, saying he want to aske her how she looks herself in the mirror because she has children.
Video of Kasky insulting and confronting Rubio was posted to Twitter by Think Progresss Aaron Rupar.

Of course our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the Parkland high school mass shooting, however; the left has used the traumatized teens to push gun control.
This is becoming increasingly obvious yet The Gateway Pundit and others criticizing the politicization are being labeled smear merchants.
CNN and others in the fake news media are deliberately ignoring students who support the Second Amendment.
Furthermore, they arent interviewing students who feel the media is disrespecting the victims by pushing the gun control narrative.
The Parkland, FL teens are now getting special treatment from Twitter as a reward for their anti-gun activism.
Twitter has bluecheck verified several of their accounts on top of sending out communication that they will suspend anyone harassing the teens.
We are actively working on reports of targeted abuse and harassment of a number of survivors of the tragic mass shooting in #Parkland. Such behavior goes against everything we stand for at Twitter, and we are taking action on any content that violates our terms of service.

During a live broadcast of Hannity from CPAC Wednesday evening, Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett articulated why former FBI Director James Comey, former Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and former acting Attorney General Sally Yates, are in serious legal jeopardy.
WOW! Fox Legal Analyst Gregg Jarrett just roasted Comey, Rosenstein, McCabe, Yates by identifying 6 crimes to these "officers of the court" may have committed; Report them to the state licensing boards (bar) ASAP from The_Donald
Who do you see now is in serious legal jeopardy? Sean Hannity asked Jarrett in relation to the Nunes memo revelations.
I think James Comey has signed off on the [FISA warrant], Rod Rosenstein who signed off on it, Andrew McCabe signed off on it, replied Jarrett.
Sally Yates, as well, added the Fox News legal analyst.
Using a fake document as an officer of the court to convince just to spy on on an American citizen is six different crimes.
Listing off the crimes, Jarrett said the band of current and former FBI and DOJ officials committed, abuse of power, false and misleading statements, perjury, its major fraud, conspiracy to commit fraud and obstruction of justice.
Those are the crimes and people need to be prosecuted, Jarrett concluded.
CNNs Jake Tapper, host of the town hall held Wednesday night in Sunrise, Florida on the February 14 Parkland school massacre worked in 1997 as a spokesman for Handgun Control, Inc., the precursor to the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence. CNN and Tapper have failed to disclose Tappers anti-gun activism in advance of the town hall.
Anti-gun activist Jake Tapper hosting gun control debate Feb. 21, 2018, screen image.
Tapper was quoted by the Chicago Tribune on September 12, 1997, attacking then NRA first vice president Charlton Heston.
Heston decreed that the Constitutions 2nd Amendment which refers to the right of the people to keep and bear armswas the most vital of all the amendments and was more essential than the 1st Amendment, which guarantees freedom of religion and of the press, among other freedoms.
It is Americas first freedom, the one that protects all the others, Heston said of the 2nd Amendment in a speech at the National Press Club.
Among freedom of speech, of the press, of religion, of assembly, of redress of grievances, it is the first among equals. It alone offers the absolute capacity to live without fear. The right to keep and bear arms is the one right that allows rights to exist at all.
Heston, who is 72 and first vice president of the NRA, spoke to an audience of mostly journalists.
Gun-control organizations labeled the speech as that of an extremist and said it would hurt the gun lobbys cause.
His interpretation of the 2nd Amendment is unique to him and his organization and has never been upheld in court, said Jake Tapper, a spokesman for Handgun Control Inc
The New York Times quoted Tapper on November 6, 1997 attacking the NRA after a gun control initiative failed in Washington State.
Gun-control advocates readily acknowledged that they had been outspent by the N.R.A., saying that was almost always the case in an initiative fight. But they were far from ready to write off their new legislative strategy.

Dirty cop Mueller is also investigating whether Manafort promised a banker a job in the Trump administration in exchange for loans.
Because this has everything to do with Trump-Russia collusion during the 2016 election.
Federal investigators are probing whether former Trump campaign chair Paul Manafort promised a Chicago banker a job in the Trump White House in return for $16 million in home loans, two people with direct knowledge of the matter told NBC News.
Manafort received three separate loans in December 2016 and January 2017 from Federal Savings Bank for homes in New York City, Virginia and the Hamptons.
The banker, Stephen Calk, president of the Federal Savings Bank, was announced as a member of candidate Trumps Council of Economic Advisers in August 2016.
Special counsel Robert Muellers team is now investigating whether there was a quid pro quo agreement between Manafort and Calk. Manafort left the Trump campaign in August 2016 after the millions he had earned working for a pro-Russian political party in Ukraine drew media scrutiny. Calk did not receive a job in President Donald Trumps cabinet.
The sources say the three loans were questioned by other officials at the bank, and one source said that at least one of the bank employees who felt pressured into approving the deals is cooperating with investigators.

Publication bias is a well known phenomenon in clinical literature, in which positive results have a better chance of being published, are published earlier, and are published in journals with higher impact factors. Conclusions exclusively based on published studies, therefore, can be misleading. Selective under-reporting of research might be more widespread and more likely to have adverse consequences for patients than publication of deliberately falsified data. We investigated whether there is preferential publication of positive papers on publication bias.Result:

A federal judge refused to dismiss a lawsuit brought against CACI Premier Technology for its alleged involvement in Iraqi torture at the Abu Ghraib prison.
CACI personnel substantially aided the military personnel responsible for directly carrying out the abuses, including directing them on how to set the conditions of confinement, ordering them to employ various abusive tactics, and helping them conceal the abuses, Judge Leonie Brinkema stated [PDF].
Moreover, upper-level management at CACI substantially aided these continued abuses by refusing to inform the military of reports that CACI and military personnel were abusing detainees and by continuing to employand even promoteinterrogators engaging in the abuses.
Plaintiffs have plausibly alleged that CACIs and its employees actions to aid the abuses were undertaken with the necessary purpose of facilitating the abusive conduct because the goal of the abusive regime was to soften up the detainees to convince them to cooperate with CACIs interrogators, Brinkema additionally contended.
Brinkema declared, It is clear that the abuse suffered by plaintiffs was intended to inflict severe pain or suffering and rises to the level of torture.
The Center for Constitutional Rights filed a lawsuit against CACI in 2008 on behalf of four Iraqis, who say they were tortured: Suhail Najim Abdullah al-Shimari, Salah Hasan Nusaif al-Ejaili, and Asaad Hamza Hanfoosh al-Zubae.
It was filed under the Alien Tort Statute, which traditionally has made it possible for foreign victims to challenge officials and corporations responsible for human rights abuses.
The alleged torture took place at a part of Abu Ghraib known as the Hard Site, which was a relatively small section of the complex controlled by American military forces that housed detainees who were suspected to be of military intelligence value.'
As described in the decision, al-Ejaili, who was a reporter for Al-Jazeera, was held at Abu Ghraib for about six weeks. When he arrived, he was forced to strip naked and put a bag on his head as personnel shouted at him to confess.
The first night al-Ejaili was put in an orange jumpsuit and handcuffed to a pole with a bag over his head. He says he vomited a black substance. A woman came in during the night and touched him and pulled at his hair. He was ordered to clean up the vomit with his jumpsuit and then taken to a cell. After he tried to clean it, he complained that he was cold and had nothing to wear. A guard handed him ladies underwear.

Amid a concerted effort by the mainstream media, Democrats and left-leaning groups to pressure Congress into passing gun control measures, a 2016 video of former Navy SEAL Dom Raso explaining why AR-15s are the best chance of surviving in an age of terror, is making the internet rounds.
The only way for us to stay free was by having whatever guns the bad guys have, said Raso.
This firearm gives average people the advantage they so desperately need and deserve to protect their life, liberty, and happiness.
Gun control legislation doesnt stop terror attacks, he explained, citing the two terrorists who werent deterred by Californias assault weapons ban when they killed 14 people in San Bernardino last year. Nor would any gun ban have stopped the Boston Bombers when they detonated a bomb at the Boston Marathon, killing three and wounding at least 260 others.
Ironically, both of those incidents of terror were brought to a stop by armed police officers responding to the scene with AR-15sthe same weapon legislators are trying to ban.
Why would you want to ban the gun you pray for police to show up with? Raso asked.

And on Wednesday I learned that I was kicked out of CPAC because my writer Lucian Wintrich posted this article.
I must clear something up though. I actually know about the earlier discussions that were going on at CPAC. I know they did not want Gateway Pundit to participate in any panel at the conference. They believed some awful lies from GOP elites (and the liberal media) that The Gateway Pundit was a hate site that supported racism and white supremacism. I spoke directly with the person today who was helping to spread that lie. Anyone who has read this website for more than two weeks knows that The Gateway Pundit is one of the top five websites in America in support of Israel.
I do think it is important to note once again, since the CPAC organizers have NO IDEA who we are, that the during election The Gateway Pundit was the fourth most influential conservative news source in America.
Following the 2016 election Harvard and Columbia Journalism Review funded research (with money from the Soros Open Society) to find out what happened to their dear Hillary. They discovered that our website packed a punch.
Since that time The Gateway Pundit has been shadow-banned, blocked, smeared, sued and abused by liberals as well as GOP elites.
And our audience continues to grow despite the constant attacks.

want me to attend their annual convention.

On Tuesday, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi proposed cutting the grass at the southern border to stop illegal aliens from flooding the U.S.
Well, Im not the walls biggest advocate in Congress, but I do know that representatives in the House and Senators in that body from the border wall areas have some serious objection to a wall because they know how detrimental it can be to the community trade, to all of the other aspects of a border. But again, lets sit down and talk things through and see what makes sense. Not some commitment to a promise that were going to build a wall and Mexico is going to pay for it. Thats never going to happen. Lets talk about where a more serious structure might be necessary, where fencing will do, or mowing the grass so people cant be smuggled through the grass, thats something, levies, technology, personnel.
Of course, this isnt the first time Pelosi has made bizarre statements about border security.
Last April Pelosi said President Trumps border wall will take food from babies and cause dirty air and water.
The Hill reported:
In a conference call with reporters, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-California, criticized Trumps late push for some funding for the wall now, which she said would be wrong if it was budgeted for at the expense of government programs like those that help young people, the elderly and the environment.
He did not promise that he would take food out of the mouths of babies and seniors and education, clean air, clean water, scientific research off the table in a significant way in order for him to pay for his immoral, ineffective, unwise proposal of a wall, Pelosi said.

The interviewer asked Sanders why he and his campaign did not tell his supporters about Russian interference if they knew Moscow was meddling to sow divisions.
I would say that the real question to be asked is what was the Clinton campaignthey had more information about this than we did, and at this point, we were working with them, he responded.
So did the Clinton campaign say, Dont talk about this?' the interviewer asked.
No, of course not, but who do you think would be raising that issue? Sanders said.
I could see a world in which Mrs. Clinton said, Its the Russians, and Sanders supporters say, Oh, thats baloney, but if Sanders says it, they say, OK,' his interviewer said.

For decades, British politicians have cowered in fear at the power of the nations popular and largely unregulated tabloid newspapers, which are owned by a handful of billionaires, and skew heavily to the far right.
The current Conservative government is no exception. Prime Minister Theresa May reportedly met with Rupert Murdoch, who owns the Sun, soon after she took power. The man May put in charge of negotiating Britains complex exit from the European Union, David Davis, left the first day of talks in Brussels after just an hour so that he could get back to London for a private dinner with Paul Dacre, editor of the Daily Mail.
So the prime minister presumably thought it would be good politics to joke on Wednesday in the House of Commons about a smear campaign launched by the tabloids on Jeremy Corbyn, leader of the opposition Labour party. Referring to a recent barrage of poorly sourced stories in the Sun and the Mail accusing Corbyn of having helped Czechoslovakia spy on Britain during the Cold War, May introduced a tortured pun about the Labour leader wanting her to sign a blank Czech.

Even better, Cuomo doubled down on the fake story after he got called out and heckled.
You cant fix stupid.
Chris Cuomo retweeted an article about a 20-year-old who claimed he was able to buy an AR-15 even though his ID had expired. The author of the article never even purchased the firearm, he simply took a photo holding a rifle whilst walking around in the gun store.
The 20-year-old then admitted in his article that he never even finished filling out the proper paperwork to purchase the firearm nor did he even purchase the rifle.
After he walked me through the paperwork, all five pages of it, I told him I changed my mind and wanted to think more before I bought an AR-15. He told me it wasnt a problem and listed the store hours if I wanted to come back. I then said thank you and walked back to my car.
Twitter user Chet Cannon called out Cuomo on Wednesday for promoting a false story about a 20-year-old who was able to buy an AR-15 in 5 minutes.
Hey, @ChrisCuomo from CNN. Saw the article you retweeted: I WAS ABLE TO BUY AN AR-15 IN 5 MINUTES
Did you see the part where he admits to neither filling out the necessary paperwork (which would initiate the background check) NOR purchasing the AR-15? Weird. pic.twitter.com/wLfaiKCqaM

People pointed out that the 20-year-old never even purchased the AR-15 but that didnt stop Cuomo from spreading lies in order to push the leftist gun control narrative.

The lawyer representing a former FBI informant demanded Wednesday that Attorney General Jeff Sessions open an investigation into unauthorized and falsified leaks to the media by anonymous federal officials. The informants lawyer said the leakers disparaged her client in an effort to silence him from providing testimony to Congress regarding his role in exposing Russias long-term strategy to dominate the global uranium market and how Moscow achieved its goal in 2010 of obtaining roughly 20 percent of the U.S. uranium mining industry, according to a letter delivered to the DOJ.
Victoria Toensing is the attorney for William Douglas Campbell, the FBI informant who is providing Congress with troves of documentation he gathered, saved and turned over to the FBI during the nearly six years he worked as an undercover FBI asset when he was a contractor in Russias nuclear and energy field. She has also asked Sessions to investigate a December 15 briefing given by senior officials to the Senate Judiciary and House Intelligence and Oversight committees with the same false information that was leaked anonymously to the media and later refuted by the Justice Department, as stated in her letter.
The leaks were not only illegal but they were also false, intended to attack the credibility of Mr. Campbell, said Toensing, referring to the leaks by federal officials to the media. She attached a 38-page appendix of documentation disproving the leaks.
As such they are libelous, she added.

Conservative commentator Pam Geller revealed on Breitbart News Daily on Wednesday morning that her panel on free speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) had been canceled because she refused to remove Jim Hoft of Gateway Pundit as a participant.
Late last night, I received a call demanding that I remove one of the speakers from the panel. I would not do this. I told them it was unconscionable that a panel on free speech I mean, its, I dont know if anybody sees the irony, and this just happened and Im sorry, Im breaking it on the show, actually, Geller told Marlow.
The panel was announced on Tuesday by Breitbart News. It was not officially organized by CPAC or the host organization, the American Conservative Union. It was sponsored by the American Principles Project (APP) in coordination with CPAC, and was to be held as a breakout session at the conference Friday afternoon.
Geller said that she had been asked to exclude Hoft after a post at Gateway Pundit on the Parkland shooting in Florida last week. The site has published several posts criticizing the students who are advocating for gun control.
The demand, she said, forced her to cancel the panel.
They know me. They know I would never remove a panelist, particularly because of some position they have, or something that they said. And they were unmovable, and so the panel has been canceled, the social media censorship panel has been canceled.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller is probing senior White House aide Jared Kushners attempts to secure financing for a distressed Manhattan property after the 2016 election, including pitches made to investment firms from China and Qatar, several news outlets reported this week.
The attempt by Jared Kushners father Charles to secure funding from Qatar before and after Donald Trumps election up until the spring of 2017 was first reported in July by The Intercept and later confirmed publicly by a Kushner Companies spokesperson.
The property that is now tied up in Muellers probe, as well as linked to a diplomatic crisis in the Middle East, sits at 666 Fifth Ave., and was bought by Kushner at the height of the housing bubble for what was even then considered an inflated price of $1.8 billion.
The building is now severely underwater and if Kushner cant find refinancing sometime in 2018, the property risks blowing a hole in the family balance sheet. Kushner has worked doggedly to fend off that reckoning, talking with prospective investors around the globe.
As The Intercept reported last July, Charles Kushner solicited funds from Qatars former Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim, known as HBJ, who now runs the investment firm Al Mirqab Capital. The Qatari businessman pledged to provide Charles Kushner, then heading Kushner Companies in Jareds place, with $500 million in capital provided Kushner was able to raise the rest of the multibillion-dollar refinancing elsewhere. Charles Kushner reportedly turned to Chinas Anbang Insurance Group for an additional $400 million, but the holding company pulled out of the deal in March 2017 following conflict of interest claims. Left in the lurch, we now know that Jared Kushner just weeks later devised a plan with Saudi Arabia to form a coalition with the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and Bahrain to jump Qatar, an unexpected move given the Qatari emir had joined Trump in Riyadh just weeks before the blockade started, where no issues were raised with Qatar about any of its policies or relationships.
Trump publicly took credit for the diplomatic attack on Qatar, and when Secretary of State Rex Tillerson tried to walk it back, Trump doubled down, issuing an additional aggressive statement that Ti...

Griffin showed up to Goldfarbs home in Pembroke Pines and, microphone in hand and TV camera in tow, proceeded to grill her about the Russian operation.
Griffin acknowledged that Goldfarb was likely unaware that her group was targeted by Russians. And in a tweet of the two-minute interview, CNN acknowledged that she unwittingly promoted a rally orchestrated by Russian trolls.
But Goldfarb was more focused on who actually attended her rallies.
Those people werent Russians. I dont go with Russians, she said at one point.
Those people that were with me were all Trump supporters, she added.
And all apparently following the direction of Russians who were actually infiltrating, Griffin replied.

Conservatives have a lot of scapegoats for the shooting in
Parkland, Florida -- inadequate mental health screening, video
games, an FBI failure, or maybe they just think the whole thing was
a hoax staged by crisis actors.
How can Rush Limbaugh distinguish himself from the pack?
He showed us how yesterday on his show: he blamed feminism for the shooting. Or, to be precise, a caller (who may or may not have been an actor, if news reports from a few years back are correct) blamed the shooting on feminism, and Limbaugh eagerly agreed.
CALLER: ... I think that feminism, modern-day feminism is the main problem, and I think that
RUSH: Wait a minute. How so? How is feminism at the root of this brain washing? I happen to agree with you about it. I would phrase it a bit differently, but I agree. How is feminism at the root?
CALLER: Well, I think that women turning their back on God and Christian values and expecting schools or day cares to raise their children and I think that feminism is whats wrong with our economy. I think that, you know, the way kids are being raised these days. I think that feminism is the ultimate problem that were facing today.
RUSH: You mean as in the instance of the chickification of our culture, the demasculinization of men?
CALLER: Oh, yeah, that too. I really think that all problems stem from modern-day feminism.
RUSH: ... I think basically feminism is a bunch of people unhappy with human nature. They dont like their assigned roles by human nature.
Not by men, or not by earthly things. They just dont like human nature, and theyre trying to change it, creating a bunch of artificial realities that they are forcing people to live in, and these artificial realities are in grand violation of human nature....
... I trace that back to 69, 68, 1970, in that period of time. The attack on men just for being men began intensely at that time.
Men became predators. Men became brutes, uncontrollable beasts who punished and abused. And its just mushroomed from there. And I think were actually living in a culture which has beaten masculinity out of a lot of guys. Remember, men... I get in a lot of trouble for saying this because people dont understand what Im saying. Men will do whatever they think they have to to get women, to get relationships. Theyll do whatever they think they have to.
Its what makes the world go round. Theres nothing obscene about it. Theres nothing filthy about it. But it has become that with this intensification of modern feminism....

CPAC CANCELS PANEL ON FREE SPEECH AND SOCIAL MEDIA CENSORSHIP
During the election The Gateway Pundit was the
fourth most influential conservative news source.
Following the 2016 election Harvard and Columbia Journalism Review funded research (with money from the Soros Open Society) to find out what happened.
This year when Pamela Geller went to CPAC to request a panel on social media censorship they abused her and strung her on until Monday night after the official agenda was already printed.
CPAC was upset that The Gateway Pundits Jim Hoft was on
They accused Gateway Pundit of being supporters of neo-Nazis.
This is what they think of The Gateway Pundit and our readers.
This is CPAC.
The Gateway Pundit is one of the top pro-Israel websites in the US. The Gateway Pundit was the first website to speak out against radical white supremacists trying to hijack the Trump movement.
In fact CPAC does not have ANY of the grassroots supporters for
Trump speaking at their conference.
They could not care less about the grassroots leaders who supported this president.
The media told CPAC that Trump supporters are white supremacists and Nazis.
CPAC believes them.
On Tuesday night CPAC cancelled the panel.
If you are the victim of social media targeting, CPAC does not
want to be bothered.
This is a guest post by Nameless Writer, the seventh in a series.

Fuck ones ass while fingering the others ass. Then have each blow you with the pinky as well, so both can suck off two asses at once.
Blow a load in ones mouth, have her spit it into the others gape. The girl with the gape flips over and squeezes it back into the firsts mouth. Cum swap.

An aide to State Representative Shawn Harrison of Florida was fired on Tuesday after claiming falsely that two students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School were actors that travel to various crisis when they happen, a common far-right conspiracy theory after mass shootings. And more personnel news -- this is from D.C.:
Mr. Harrisons district secretary, Benjamin Kelly, made the assertion in an email sent from his state account to a Tampa Bay Times reporter, Alex Leary. Mr. Leary ... posted a screen shot of the email on Twitter....
Mr. Kellys email referred to Emma Gonzlez, 18, and David Hogg, 17, two seniors who have been outspoken in the days since the shooting.
A top official at the Department of Health and Human Services has been placed on administrative leave after a CNN KFile inquiry while the agency investigates social media postings in which he pushed unfounded smears on social media. What surprises me most about these stories is the fact that belief in conspiracy theories can still get a Republican fired or otherwise disciplined. We elected a birther president. I'd have thought that going after conspiratorialists would have been redefined as "political correctness" by now.
Jon Cordova serves as the principal deputy assistant secretary for administration at HHS. A KFile review of Cordova's social media accounts found that he pushed stories filled with baseless claims and conspiracy theories, including stories that claimed Gold Star father Khizr Khan is a "Muslim Brotherhood agent" and made baseless claims about Sen. Ted Cruz's personal life....
In July 2016, Cordova shared a story that asserted without evidence that Khan, who spoke out against Trump at the 2016 Democratic National Convention, was a "Muslim Brotherhood agent" and "a Muslim plant working with the Hillary Clinton campaign." He also shared another story that falsely claimed the Clinton Foundation paid Khan.
Cordova also shared unfounded and false stories that claimed Cruz, a Texas Republican frequented prostitutes, was involved in a sex scandal and was hiding various public records related to his birth and education.

But Jim and Glenn have taken very different approaches to covering the Trump/Russia story. This week on Intercepted, they go head-to-head in a debate. Glenn is one of the most high-profile critics of the official story that has been put forward by the U.S. intelligence community, the Democrats, and many media outlets, including some of this countrys most powerful papers and news channels. Jim battled both the Bush and Obama administrations under threat of imprisonment for refusing to name his sources in some of the most sensitive national security reporting of the modern era. A Dutch attorney, Alex Van Der Zwaan, recently married to the daughter of a Ukrainian-born Russian oligarch, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to lying to the Special Counsels Office about contacts with Richard Gates (business partner to Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort) and Person A, located in the Ukraine, with whom Van Der Zwaan communicated in Russian. Person A is described as a longtime business partner of Manafort and Gates. Person A might be Oleksandr Lavrynovych, justice minister under Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, who fled to Russia in 2014, or, more likely, a key link between Manafort-Gates-Van Der Zwaan and Lavrynovych.
An excellent Dutch public broadcasting documentary, The Dubious Friends of Donald Trump about Trumps Russian ties found connections to the Netherlands: https://zembla.bnnvara.nl/nieuws/the-dubious-friends-of-donald-trump-the-russians?npo_cc=126&;
Van Der Zwaan reportedly speaks Russian, Dutch, English and French, which could be useful for international Russian money-laundering. His June 2017 marriage to the daughter of Russian oligarch-Alfa Bank co-founder and co-owner, German Khan, suggests that Khan, and perhaps others, have great confidence in him. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alex_van_der_Zwaan
Manafort, who has not been charged with a crime in Ukraine, is wanted by prosecutors to testify in a corruption case targeting Oleksandr Lavrynovych, who was justice minister under Viktor Yanukovych, the Moscow-friendly former president who fled to Russia in 2014. Prosecutors accuse Lavrynovych of illegally funneling more than $1.1 million in government funds to a powerful U.S. law firm, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. Lavrynovych had hired the U.S. law firm in 2011 to review the jailing of then-Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, who was sentenced to seven years in prison for allegedly brokering an unfavorable gas deal with Russia. Her sentence was viewed by much of the international community including Russia as political in nature. Tymoshenko was released in February 2014 and later reelected to parliament. 1.(C) Summary: In a July 31 meeting with the Charge, TNK-BP Chief Operating Officer (COO) Tim Summers provided insight into BP and AARs negotiations, noting CEO Bob Dudley was unlikely to return and that the most important and difficult issue to resolve was likely to be corporate governance, which was central to BPs efforts to protect its investment.
Summers, now TNK-BPs senior foreign employee in Russia, also provided some colorful background on the AAR partners and in particular German Khan, who has orchestrated the attacks on BP and TNK-BPs foreign employees. End Summary.

difficult as Dudleys relationship had been. It was
complicated because although they were technically on the
same level in the company, Khan as a part owner out-ranked
him. However, at the same time, Khan knew very little about
the oil business, knew it, and therefore deferred to Summers
on running the company. With Dudley, he added, part of
Khans anger was because Dudley was the boss and had thwarted

If it wasnt bad enough that Hogg was laughing with other crisis actors before reading his script for CNN on the school shooting and his fake story of being a victim at the alleged shooting at Parkland High School, what is even more repulsive is his NEW APPEARANCE ON CNN defending his lies as though he were still in high school and never graduated from Redondo Shores High School in California in 2015.
Its time to call them all out.

Another terrible school shooting took place in Parkland, Florida last week and unfortunately many politicians and pundits have used the tragedy as they often do to push their own agenda. Many will use the tragedy to argue that Americans should be prohibited from owning guns. As if anti-gun laws would dissuade a disturbed or violent individual intent on causing harm. Those intent on mass murder dont obey gun laws.
For example, why do those calling for more gun control remain silent when armed federal agents raid Amish farms to stop them from selling raw milk? This shows the hypocrisy of those who call for restrictions on private firearms ownership while supporting the use of government violence as a means of controlling our lives.
Unfortunately there are many key questions lost in the race to score political points from the shooting.
Why does it always seem that the shooter in these mass killings has been on some kind of psychotropic drugs? As the New American magazine pointed out this week, at least ten high profile mass shootings have been committed by individuals who were either on or just recently coming off of psychiatric medications. The young killer in Florida was no different. According to his aunt, he had been on these medications to treat mental problems.
Why is no one questioning these medications all of which come with labels warning of horrific side effects? Perhaps one reason they are ignored is that the pharmaceutical industry spends billions of dollars lobbying Congress.
Also, how is it possible that the FBI once again missed so many obvious clues that a violent person intent on causing massive harm to others was about to strike? Is the FBI actually this incompetent, or perhaps its focus was in other areas like meddling in our own elections by presenting evidence they knew was flawed to the FISA court to get permission to spy on the Trump campaign?
Weve heard many stories of how alert FBI field agents tried to alert their bosses before 9/11 that foreigners were taking flight lessons but were not interested in learning how to land the planes.
Is giving the federal government more power to spy on us as they demand the answer to stop these terrible crimes? Hardly!
Those who think that giving federal authorities greater surveillance powers might prevent mass shootings should consider that the FBI has been alerted that the latest school shooter had made Facebook post...
Zimbabwe is best remembered as the country that clocked up a jaw-dropping inflation rate of 231 million percent a year.
That insanity came abruptly to an end in 2009 when the country adopted the US dollar and South African rand as the official means of exchange.
How did it get to this Olympian inflation rate? The same way it always happens, by rampant money printing.
Less well known is what happened immediately after this. The ruling Zanu-PF party lost its outright majority in the 2008 election and was forced to share power with the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC). In came opposition member of parliament Tendai Biti as finance minister, and in a 30 minute speech to parliament he announced the end of virtually any form of government interference in the economy. No more exchange controls, no more price controls, no more import permits needed. Government was getting out of the business of trying to regulate the economy.
Within weeks, shortages of fuel and food had vanished and once-empty supermarkets were stacked to the roof. Inflation, which just a year previously had been doubling every few hours, fell to minus 7 per cent. Within two years, Zimbabwes inflation rate was the lowest in the southern Africa region. The economy grew at an average 8% a year over the next four years, albeit off a bombed-out base. Zimbabweans could scarcely recognise the country in which they were living. Entrepreneurs were making money hand over fist. They were buying cars, going on overseas holidays and sending their kids to the best private schools.
This free market experiment came to an end in 21013 when Mugabe won outright control in an election most believe was stolen, and reverted to form, reintroducing exchange and other controls.
If crisis makes its own opportunity, here is a case in point. Zimbabwe had hit such a low ebb, it was ripe for the kind of radical free market economics that frighten the bejeezus out of other countries.
Regulators have an innate fear of anything that moves freely and without hindrance. Take exchange controls, which we Africans have endured our entire lives. South Africa has had exchange controls since the apartheid years, a policy mindlessly extended under the African National Congress-led government.
The great fear is that removing exchange controls will lead to a flight of capital and all the attendant dangers that implies to the balance of payments, inward investment and tax revenue.
Zimbabwes experience is quite the opposite. Government tax revenue shot up nearly eight-fold in four years, and there was no shortage of foreign currency. The balance of payments did deteriorate, but this was partially offset by much higher inward investment flows.
MDC opposition member of par...
Its hard to know where to begin. Last Fridays indictment of 13 Russian nationals and three Russian companies by Special Counsel Robert Mueller was detailed in a 37 page document that provided a great deal of specific evidence claiming that a company based in St. Petersburg, starting in 2014, was using social media to assess American attitudes. Using that assessment, the company inter alia allegedly later ran a clandestine operation seeking to influence opinion in the United States regarding the candidates in the 2016 election in which it favored Donald Trump and denigrated Hillary Clinton. The Russians identified by name are all back in Russia and cannot be extradited to the U.S., so the indictment is, to a certain extent, political theater as the accuseds defense will never be heard.
In presenting the document, Rod Rosenstein, Deputy Attorney General, stressed that there was no evidence to suggest that the alleged Russian activity actually changed the result of the 2016 presidential election or that any actual votes were altered or tampered with. Nor was there any direct link to either the Russian government or its officials or to the Donald Trump campaign developed as a result of the nine-month long investigation. There was also lacking any mention in the indictment of the Democratic National Committee, Hillary Clinton and Podesta e-mails, so it is to be presumed that the activity described in the document was unrelated to the WikiLeaks disclosures.
Those of the okay, theres smoke but wheres the fire school of thought immediately noted the significant elephant in the room, namely that the document did not include any suggestion that there had been collusion between Team Trump and Moscow. As that narrative has become the very raison detre driving the Mueller investigation, its omission is noteworthy. Meanwhile, those who see more substance in what was revealed by the evidence provided in the indictment and who, for political reasons, would like to see Trump damaged, will surely be encouraged by their belief that the noose is tightening around the president.
Assuming the indictment is accurate, I would agree that the activity of the Internet Research Agency does indeed have some of the hallmarks of a covert action intelligence operation in terms how it used some spying tradecraft to support its organization, targeting and activity. But its employees also displayed considerable amateur behavior, suggesting that they were not professional spies, sup...
George Mason professor of economics Bryan Caplan does not relegate controversial thoughts to footnotes.
His most recent book, The Case Against Education: Why the Educational System is a Waste of Time and Money, and an essay on the same theme in The Atlantic,The World Might Be Better off Without College for Everyone, make unmistakably clear what he thinks about our glut of sheepskin credentials. Caplan never hides his views about how worthless he thinks college is as a rite of passage for most students. And the journalistic establishment cannot dismiss him as a grumpy reactionary. An associate at the Cato Institute, he has publicly proclaimed his support for open borders.
Having been a professor for over 40 years at a number of academic institutions, I find Caplans main argument to be indisputable. The vast majority of my students, particularly those towards the end of my career, had little interest in the material I was trying to transmit, whether classical Greek, European history, or modern political theory. Those relatively few who gravitated toward my fields entered professional careers that paid them far less than those who majored in engineering or accounting. And that assumes, of course, that my majors managed to land decent jobs after graduation at all. Caplan also rolls out statistics showing most college students spend shockingly little time studying, and when polled express utter boredom with most of their courses. The overwhelming majority who graduate admit to having forgotten most of what they learned even before graduation. Although Caplan makes these points by citing multiple statistics, for me they are entirely self-evident, like knowing that my pet Basset will beg for food every time I open the refrigerator.
Caplan makes a number of interesting arguments before getting to his main point, and its possible to consider them independent of his overriding thesis about higher education as a waste of time and money. For example, Caplan shows that an individual who hopes to earn a decent living would be a fool not to try to acquire a bachelors degree. Whether or not a prospective employer overvalues sheepskin credentials, the bearer of that asset will earn on average $20,000 more every year than those without such credentials. The degree-holder is signaling his higher capabilities to prospective employers. Further, someone with a bachelors degree has far better chances of finding employment than someone without that degree. Even a high school graduate will enjoy better job opportunities than a high school dropout: High school and four-year co...
A recent article in The Guardian dons the foreboding title Robots will destroy our jobs and were not ready for it. The article claims, For every job created by robotic automation, several more will be eliminated entirely. This disruption will have a devastating impact on our workforce. According to an article in MIT Technology Review, business researchers Erik Brynjolfsson and Andrew McAfee believe that rapid technological change has been destroying jobs faster than it is creating them, contributing to the stagnation of median income and the growth of inequality in the United States.
If technology is destroying jobs faster than its creating them, it is the first time in human history that its done so. Actually, the number of jobs is unlimited, for the simple reason that human wants are unlimited or they dont frequently reveal their bounds. People always want more of something that will create a job for someone. To suggest that there are a finite number of jobs commits an error known as the lump of labor fallacy. That fallacy suggests that when automation or technology eliminates a job, theres nothing that people want that would create employment for the person displaced by the automation. In other words, all human wants have been satisfied.
Lets look at a few examples. In 1790, farmers were 90 percent of the U.S. labor force. By 1900, only about 41 percent of our workers were employed in agriculture. Today less than 3 percent of Americans are employed in agriculture. And its a good thing. If 90 percent or 41 percent of our labor force were still employed in agriculture, where in the world would we find the workforce to produce all those goods and services that werent around in 1790 or 1900, such as cars, aircraft, TVs, computers, aircraft carriers, etc.? Indeed, if technology had not destroyed all of those agricultural jobs, we would be a much, much poorer nation.
What about the claim that our manufacturing jobs are going to China a claim thats fueling the Trump administration to impose trade barriers? It is true that between 2001 and 2013, 3.2 million jobs were outsourced to China. However, in the same time frame, China lost about 4.5 million manufacturing jobs, compared with the loss of 3.1 million in the U.S. Job loss is the trend among the top 10 manufacturing countries, which produce 75 percent of the worlds manufacturing output (the U.S., Japan, Germany, China, Britain, France, Italy, South Korea, Canada and Mexico). Only Italy has managed not to lose factory jobs since 2000. Nonetheless, the U.S. remains a major force in global manufacturing.
Because of automation, the U.S. worker is now three times as productive as in 1980 and twice as productive as in 2000. Its productivity gains, rather than outsourcing and imports, that explain most of our manufactu...

According to the indictment by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, Russian trolls, operating out of St. Petersburg, took American identities on social media and became players in our 2016 election.
On divisive racial and religious issues, the trolls took both sides. In the presidential election, the trolls favored Bernie Sanders, Jill Stein and Donald Trump, and almost never Hillary Clinton.
One imaginative Russian troll urged Trumpsters to dress up a female volunteer in an orange prison jump suit, put her in a cage on a flatbed truck, then append the slogan, Lock Her Up!
How grave a matter is this?
This Russian troll farm is the equivalent (of) Pearl Harbor, says Cong. Jerrold Nadler, who would head up the House Judiciary Committee, handling any impeachment, if Democrats retake the House.
When MSNBCs Chris Hayes pressed, Nadler doubled down: The Russians are destroying our democratic process. While the Russian trolling may not equal Pearl Harbor in its violence, said Nadler, in its seriousness, it is very much on a par with Japans surprise attack.
Trumps reaction to the hysteria that broke out after the Russian indictments: They are laughing their (expletives) off in Moscow.
According to Sundays Washington Post, the troll story is old news in Russia, where reporters uncovered it last year and it was no big deal.
While Muellers indictments confirm that Russians meddled in the U.S. election, what explains the shock and the fear for our democracy?
Is the Great Republic about to fall because a bunch of trolls tweeted in our election? Is this generation ignorant of its own history?
Before and after World War II, we had Stalinists and Soviet spies at the highest levels of American culture and government.
The Hollywood Ten, who went to prison for contempt of Congress, were secret members of a Communist Party that, directed from Moscow, controlled the Progressive Party in Philadelphia in 1948 that nominated former Vice President Henry Wallace to run against Harry Truman.
Soviet spies infiltrated the U.S. atom bomb project and shortened the time Stalin needed to explode a Soviet bomb in 1949.
As for Russian trolling in our election, do we really have clean hands when it comes to meddling in elections and the internal politics of regimes we dislike?
Sen. John McCain and Victoria Nuland of State egged on the Maidan Square crowds in Kiev that overthrew the elected government of Ukraine. When the democratically elected regime of Mohammed Morsi was overthrown, the U.S. readily accepted the coup as a victory for our side and continued aid to Egypt as tens of thousands of Musli...
The Fall of the Ottomans: The Great War in the Middle East, by Eugene Rogan
In this book, Eugene Rogan tells the story of the Great War in the Middle East not from the side of the Great Powers, but from the side of the Ottomans.
He begins with the story of his great-uncle, Lance Corporal John McDonald. His great-uncle was born in a small Scottish village. Along with his friend, Charles Beveridge, McDonald enlisted with the 8th Scottish Rifles (the Cameronians) when war broke out.
They said farewell to friends and family on 17 May 1915, headed to the eastern Mediterranean. They arrived at the Greek island of Lemnos, the staging post for British and Allied forces, on 29 May one month after the fighting on Gallipoli had broken out. By mid-June they sailed onward to the peninsula.
Passing some who had returned from the fighting, the fresh-faced recruits would shout out: Are we downhearted? No! In reply, some Australian wag shouted back, Well you damned soon will be.
On 14 June, the battalion was safely ashore, and four days later they were headed up Gully Ravine to the fighting. On 28 June, following two hours of bombardment from the sea, the 8th Scottish Rifles came out of their trenches and attacked. Within five minutes, they were wiped out. McDonald died in the camp hospital; the body of his friend Beveridge was never found, assumed to be in the unidentifiable conglomeration of remains buried in a mass grave only after the war.
The author, Rogan, went to Gallipoli in 2005 to see firsthand this place of infamy and the site of his great-uncles death. He was accompanied by his mother and his son, the first family visitors in nine decades. While trying to find the Lancashire Landing Cemetery, they took a wrong turn and ended up at the Nuri Yamut Monument a memorial to the Turkish war dead of the same battle in which his great-uncle died.
While my great-uncles unit suffered 1,400 casualties half its total strength and British losses overall reached 3,800, as many as 14,000 Ottomans fell dead and wounded at Gully Ravine. All the books I had read on the Cameronians treated the terrible waste of British life on the day my great-uncle died. None of the English sources had mentioned the thousands of Turkish war dead.
It was this Ottoman front...
On February 16, 2018, Bloombergs Eli Lake published an article entitled Dont Be Fooled: Russia Attacked U.S. Troops in Syria.
When asked about the incident initially, U.S. Secretary of Defense James Mattis said he had no idea why they [pro-government forces] would attack there, the forces were known to be there, obviously the Russians knew.
We have always known that there are elements in this very complex battle space that the Russians did not have, I would call it, control of, he added.
In response to this conundrum, Lake wrote:
Now, it should be said that Mattis, a retired four-star Marine Corps general, is a very smart man. His perplexity in this case is probably what Plato called a noble lie, a falsehood spoken by a leader to achieve a greater social good. If Mattis acknowledges the obvious that the Kremlin authorized a direct assault on a U.S.-sponsored base by non-uniformed personnel he risks an escalation spiral in Syria. Better to express bewilderment and give Russian President Vladimir Putin a chance to back down and deny culpability, which he ended up doing despite the heavy casualties suffered by his mercenaries.
But make no mistake: There is overwhelming evidence that those Russian contractors were working at the behest of the Kremlin. Whats more, the Russians knew U.S. military personnel were in Deir Ezzor, which has been part of successive agreements to separate, or deconflict, forces fighting in Syria.
First, if the Kremlin did actually give the go-ahead for the advancement of troops in that particular area, it is alr...
US economics is extremely predictable. It doesnt matter who is President and what party he comes from. Because every president will spend more money than the US can afford. On average, US Federal debt has doubled every 8 years since Reagan came to power in 1981. And Trump has just fulfilled the prediction. The budget deal that has been agreed is guaranteed to produce substantial deficits in coming years. The current years deficit might be just under $1 trillion but thereafter it is virtually guaranteed that the US will not have a budget deficit under $1 trillion for many, many years.
US FEDERAL DEBT $40 TRILLION BY 2025
During Bush Jr, debt went form $10T to $ 20T. Whether Trump will manage to keep it below $28T by 2021 is questionable. What is more certain is that by 2025, whoever is president, debt will most certainly fulfil the historic trend of doubling every 8 years. That means a $40T debt in 2025.
The scenario to cause this huge debt is straightforward. Crashing bond and stock markets, high interest rates, high inflation leading to hyperinflation and defaults in the financial system. All that will result in massive money printing on a scale that has never been done in history. It would actually be a miracle if the US debt is only $40T in 2025. With hyperinflation, it could be multiples of that sum.
BUBBLES ARE BURSTING
The signals that the markets have given in the last few weeks are a clear indication that the euphoric stage of the economy is coming to an end. It began with the biggest bubble in history starting to burst Cryptocurrencies. In one month the market cap of this market more than halved from $835 billion to $395 billion.
Cryptos have been a wonderful speculation for the few that managed to cash in. But for many it has been a disastrous Ponzi scheme that will end in tears. Cryptos have nothing to do with real investments and even less to do with wealth preservation. There is nothing wrong with having a small flutter in a speculative instrument. Sadly though, many buyers of cryptos have been tempted to buy on credit and are sitting on major losses.
The fall in Cryptos is symptomatic of the end of an era. Compared to $80 trillion global stock markets, cryptos are insignificant. Stocks and cryptos have one thing in common, they both have a long way down from here. Whilst cryptos will go to zero, stocks will go down in real terms by at least 90%. I say real terms because hyperinflation can take the nominal...
A volcanic eruption on the island of Sumatra has thrown a colossal ash cloud into the sky above western Indonesia.
A plume of volcanic debris measuring more than four miles (7km) in length sprang from the mouth of Mount Sinabung on the northern part of the island on Monday afternoon, sparking widespread travel disruption amid an aviation red notice and airport closures. The alert prohibits airlines from flying over parts of the country with significant amounts of ash in the atmosphere. No casualties have yet been reported.
The Australian Bureau of Meteorologys Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre (VACC) has issued maps showing the ash cloud moving out in three separate directions from Sinabung to the north, northwest and south-southeast. Sinabung is around 47 miles south-west of Kualanamu International Airport in Medan.
Speaking to Reuters, a spokesman for Indonesias National Disaster Mitigation Agency said a four-mile exclusion zone had been set up around the crater, and that the public are being asked to watch out for weather warnings.
Mount Sinabungs most destructive eruption occurred in 2014, killing more than a dozen people and displacing thousands of others. The volcano had been thought to be dormant, having last erupted around four hundred years ago.
Mount Agung, on the island of Bali to the south, has also been active for a number of months. Indonesia sits on the Ring of Fire, a 40,000km horseshoe-shaped area covering the circumference of the Pacific Ocean where a large number of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions occur.

A new swarm of earthquakes has cropped up at the Yellowstone supervolcano, with more than 200 small temblors detected in the last 10 days alone.
According to experts with the US Geological Survey, the latest swarm began on February 8 in a region roughly eight miles northeast of West Yellowstone, Montana and, its increased dramatically in the days since.
But for now, scientists say theres no reason to worry.
While the earthquakes are likely caused by a combination of processes beneath the surface, the current activity is said to be relatively weak, and the alert level at the supervolcano remains at normal.
According to the USGS, the new swarm is occurring in about the same location as the Maple Creek swarm last summer, which brought roughly 2,400 earthquakes in a four-month span.
The University of Utah Seismograph Stations picked up the first quakes just over a week ago, counting more than 200 as of February 18.
But, the experts say there are likely many more that have gone undetected.
The present swarm started on February 8, with a few events occurring per day, according to USGS.
On February 15, seismicity rates and magnitudes increased markedly. As of the night of February 18, the largest earthquake in the swarm is M2.9, and none of the events have been felt. All are occurring about 8 km (5 mi) beneath the surface.
Yellowstone is home to several faults, and has a long history of seismic activity.
As natural processes occur beneath the surface and stress effects from past events continue to maintain their hold, the area remains a hotbed of seismicity and swarm activity, according to USGS.

As reported earlier by
Following the recent Parkland shooting, a number of movements and activist groups popped up, and the standout similarity across all of them is that theyre fronted by teenagers.
Behind the teenagers, working as the string-pullers, are the same people behind the Womens March. They are vehemently anti-gun, anti-American, and anti-Trump this is part of their sales pitch.
On March 14th, 2018, the largest of these groups, #Enough National School Walkout, is planning a 17-minute walk out and moment of silence scheduled for 10 AM across all time zones. Backing them are the folks behind Rock the Vote, Teen Vogue, Peace First, Rise To Run, The Gathering for Justice, and Justice League NYC.
The major force behind this walkout event is the radical far-left organization Womens March Youth Empower. The leaders of this group are Ziad Ahmed, the youth advisor, Hannah Rosenzweig, Adam Jacobs, and Jackson Hyland Lipski. They are explicitly political in their messaging and aggressive in their stance.
Of course, the left does not want anyone to challenge these teen activists on their knowledge of the Second Amendment.

There are no free passes.
By all accounts, the Parkland shooting was a failure on the part of federal authorities and then all of the authority figures all down the line. In the wake of the shooting, a select group of students were pulled from the chaos and spoke word-for-word the very talking points that progressive liberal adults have been screaming about for decades.
It is insane and beyond negative definition what the left is doing by dragging high school students into a public spotlight, sticking a microphone in their face, and working them through the perfect political talking points that work toward their goal of removing the Second Amendment entirely.
These faux-indignant media vultures and their radical, far-left activist comrades are playing the puppet-masters for these children. The left is propping kids up as political pawns so that the right can be cast as demons for disagreeing or even critiquing their hyper-political and radical misconceptions about gun safety.
Meanwhile, we have not heard a word from a single pro-gun individual who was at that shooting. Instead, some kids who were fortunate enough not to die are playing the pious, self-righteous shame distributors, calling out the president for something he had no control over, calling out the GOP en masse for their support of the Second Amendment, while failing to point the finger directly at the FBI like a logical individual would.

Newsbusters previously reported:
One of the revelations in Fridays indictment handed down by Special Counsel Robert Mueller was that alleged Russian attempts to sow disunity in 2016 included the organization of both pro- and anti-Trump rallies in New York City on the Saturday after Election Day.
A check of their November 12 coverage showed both CNN and MSNBC gave enthusiastic coverage to the Russian-organized anti-Trump rally that day, with live reports every hour. Correspondents celebrated the idea that it was a love rally, and repeated the marchers anti-Trump mantras, such as: We reject the President-elect.
While the two liberal anti-Trump networks offered heavy coverage of the anti-Trump rally throughout the day, a check of coverage between noon and 5:00 p.m. Eastern found that the Fox News Channel offered only a short re-cap (66 seconds) at the start of their 4:00 p.m. Eastern hour.
Even funnier, left-wing crank, Michael Moore attended one of these Russian-organized anti-Trump rallies as well.

According to the U.S. Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations (PSI), the State Department gave $349,276 in U.S. taxpayer-funded grants to a political group in Israel to build a campaign operation, which subsequently was used to try to influence Israelis to vote against conservative Benjamin Netanyahu in the March 2015 election for prime minister.
In the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations report about the State Departments action, Chairman Bob Portman (R-Ohio) said, It is completely unacceptable that U.S. taxpayer dollars were used to build a political campaign infrastructure that was deployed immediately after the grant ended against the leader [Netanyahu] of our closest ally in the Middle East. Heres a song from last year that still hasnt left my personal rotation in 2018: Rome Wasnt Burnt in a Day, a stealthy post-punk ode to working together in tearing down impossible structures of power.
It appeared on the debut record by ESCAPE-ISM, Introduction to Escape-ism, the first-ever solo record from Ian Svenonius, released in November via Merge.
Rome wasnt burnt in a day / It took a lot of time for the bricks to be raised, Svenonius sings, circling back on the songs title throughout. Everybody! Had a turn! To make! Rome! Burn! Its a hook thats both minimal and explosive. You cant help but imagine a basement somewhere filled with people dancing and pogo-ing along.
Since the 90s, Svenonius has processed the world around him in legendary bands like Nation of Ulysses, the Make-Up, Weird War, XYZ, and Chain and the Gang.
With the latter group, he often uses a genre hes deemed crime rock to combine cheeky humor with critiques of capitalism. He is also known for bringing an intellectual bent to punk rock. So it makes sense that hes a prolific writer as well, author of The Psychic Soviet, Supernatural Strategies for Making a Rock n Roll Group, and Censorship Now!!
Rome Wasnt Burnt in a Day centers around one cycling beat, creating a galvanizing sense of tension as Svenonius offers words of encouragement:
Next time you feel like giving in
Next time, you feel, you cant do it again
Next time you think, man, its all too much
Next time you feel, oh, I had enough
Just remember what they said.
And then the refrain bursts open again.
Introduction To Escape-ism was described in a commercial for the record as a found sound dream drama starring Ian Svenonius [that] no ones been able to capture.
Appropriately, this songs beginning and ending slowly fade in and out, creating the effect that perhaps we are listening in on a snapshot of something that has been going on for a while.

FOX 4 Now reported:
As the debate about gun control heats up, the sale of semi-automatic rifles like the AR-15 are actually increasing.
High-schoolers from Majory Stoneman Douglas and around the country demonstrated, Monday, for stronger gun control laws. We can prevent some seriously nasty crimes and some seriously indescribable tragedies from occurring, and if somebody doesnt want to do that at this point, thats pathetic, said Emma Gonzales, a Parkland shooting survivor.
Lawmakers are feeling the heat. President Trump told media, Monday, he would consider gun control measures to improve background checks for gun purchases.
Meanwhile, gun stores like Shoot Center in Cape Coral are busy with customers. Owner Aaron Forum said sale of the AR-15, the same weapon used by the Parkland shooter, has increased by as much as 30%. He believes an increase in gun sales is due to a combination of factors:
1. People are becoming more aware of dangers in their community and want to arm themselves.
2. Gun legislation may limit purchase of certain weapons.

Former NY police officer and Rebel Media reporter, John Cardillo attended the Parkland shooting memorial this week.
Cardillo said he witnessed media malpractice from CNN especially; CNN was shoving cameras in peoples faces who were mourning the hardest.
John Cardillo also said a teacher named Sarah Lerner was text messaging students on their personal cell phones encouraging them to attend an anti-gun rally in Coral Springs, FL hosted by Every Town for Gun Safety, a radical, left-wing organization funded by Michael Bloomberg.
Many students also told Cardillo that they are pro-second amendment, however; the media (CNN) is only focusing on gun control and students who are against the second amendment.
Students also said they wished the media would stop politicizing the tragedy.

Mr. Yiannopoulos has
acknowledged the inevitable:
Milo Yiannopoulos's unintentional comedy show/performance piece known as his breach of contract lawsuit against Simon & Schuster, seeking $10 million, has come to an end. Playing the final, brief role of lawyer, representing himself, Yiannopoulos discontinued his lawsuit with prejudice (meaning this is final) in a filing posted to the docket Tuesday, and dated February 15 by the parties. But on Facebook, Yiannopoulos insists that he was the real winner, no matter what the LIE-beral media says:
After finally being able to personally review the documents that Simon & Schuster disclosed, it was clear to me that they wrongfully terminated my contract in bad faith. So his point is proven, even though he's withdrawing his legal assertion of that point.
Based on the documents, I think they signed my book knowing they'd never publish it and then tried to make me walk away with excessive editing (you've all seen the manuscript!) and demands. In the end, they just nuked it and took their chances. Why would Simon & Schuster do that? I would understand that claim if S&S engaged in "catch and kill" -- if, in other words, it bought the book in order to prevent its publication, the way the National Enquirer reportedly bought the story of Donald Trump's Playmate girlfriend. But when S&S dropped the book, the rights reverted to the author. He was free to pursue another book deal, or to publish it himself (which is what he did). And S&S allowed him to keep an $80,000 portion of the advance. That's suppression of a conservative voice, according to Yiannopoulos.
Having earned well over a million dollars from publishing my New York Times best-selling book Dangerous myself....Er ... maybe. Sales of Dangerous were not great. It's possible that it grossed $1 million in revenue. Subtract the costs of manufacturing, shipping, warehousing, publicity, and so on, and I bet Yiannopoulos took in a lot less.

This afternoon, the Gateway Pundit received a tip from a father of one of the Parkland school shooter survivors. Concerned and enraged, he confirmed what Gateway Pundit previously reported: these children are being used as political tools by the far left to further anti-Conservative rhetoric and an anti-gun agenda. The students at the forefront of this agenda were all peers of his child, they were all members of the same drama club at their high school. This fact was verified and confirmed by Buzzfeed who sent a reporter to visit the student activists at their command center at one of their homes. Buzzfeed reported on, but left unexplored, the fact that these students are theater-trained:
The group, who mostly know each other from the schools theater program, began their efforts in a scattered way in the chaotic aftermath of Wednesdays horror.
From our source: One of the students leading the current charge called the child of our contact up and asked if they were willing to workshop Anti-Trump/Anti-Gun lines, publish on their Twitter account, and possibly go on television with a similar statement.
This particular student, a Trump supporter, shouted F*** you! into the receiver before hanging up.
They didnt want to be used as yet another pawn from the left. It was conveyed that these students are acting as the bridge between far-left activist groups and are specifically recruiting other students from the schools drama department.

The liberals had a feeding frenzy after Mueller indicted 13 Russians for interfering in the 2016 presidential election via social media.
The 37-page indictment was a big fat nothingburger but the liberals are now demanding Trump do something about the Russians.
Obama did nothing as the Russians set up shop in the U.S. in 2014 but this is somehow Trumps fault.
You just agreed that the evidence is there that the Russians interfered in our election, doesnt he agree that the evidence is there? Karl asked Sanders of Trump.
What is the president going to do about it? What is he specifically doing about the fact that the Russia interfered with our election and has every intention, we are told of doing it again? What is he doing about it? Karl asked.
Sarah Sanders explained Trump is tougher on Russian than Obama was.
He has been tougher on Russia in his first year than Obama was in eight years combined. He has imposed sanctions, hes taken away properties, hes rebuilt our military. He has done a number of things to put pressure on Russia and be tough on Russia. President Donald Trumps administration responded to a legal challenge that alleges the continued detention of detainees at the Guantnamo Bay military prison amounts to perpetual detention for detentions sake. Officials maintain detention is allowed until the fighting stops in Afghanistan.
Forty-one detainees are still confined at Guantnamo, since they were transferred there under President George W. Bush.
The government replied to the legal challenge from the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) and Reprieve by asserting that detention is not indefinite but indeterminate.
Because the end of hostilities cannot be predicteddoes not render the detention perpetual or unconstitutionally indefinite,' the Trump administration declares. It serves a permissible purposeto prevent the return of members of enemy forces to the battlefield.
CCR and Reprieve argues the Authorized Use of Military Force (AUMF), which the U.S. government has invoked to justify and excuse any military action since 2001, cannot support further detention of individuals.
The traditional law-of-war understanding that may have justified detention in 2004 has unraveled, as the practical circumstances of the conflict with al-Qaida have long ceased to resemble any of the conflicts that informed the development of the law of war. The battlefield is today no more than an amorphous interminable morass, global in scope, that could justify [detainees] lifetime imprisonment if left unchecked.
The Trump administration attempts to rebut this argument in their filing by describing recent operations in Afghanistan as part of the North Atlantic Treaty Organizations Resolute Support mission and a U.S. mission, Operation Freedoms Sentinel.
In August 2017, the President announced an increase of in the number of U.S. military personnel in Afghanistan along with expanded authorizations for U.S. forces to engage enemy forces. The United States currently maintains approximately 14,000 military personnel in Afghanistan, an increase of approximately 3,500 military personnel since early 2017.
From June 1, 2017, to November 24, 2017, United States special operations forces components conducted 2,175 ground operations and 261 kinetic strikes in which they enabled or advised Afghan forces. In 2017, the United States conducted over 1,248 air sorties with at least one weapon release and fired more weapons during aerial missions (4,361) than in any year since 2012, the government adds.
The Trump administration acts like human rights attorneys do not believe the U.S. is at war with al-Qaida in Afghanistan anymore. That is not CCR and Reprieves argument.
Rather, the attorneys contend, The limited purpose for which the laws...

The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) has filed lawsuits against the Department of State, the Department of Justice, the FBI and the US Treasury over the sham Hillary Clinton investigation and the Uranium One scandal.
The lawsuits are over the agencies failing to comply with Freedom of Information Act requirements. The group is asking that a federal court order the agencies to issue determinations and produce documents responsive to the ACLJs FOIA request.
In the first lawsuit, the ACLJ explained in a press release that they are seeking to obtain documents concerning a decision by the Committee on Foreign Investments in the United States (CFIUS) to transfer the U.S.s controlling interest in Uranium One to the Russian state-owned ARMZ a wholly owned subsidiary of the Russian nuclear giant, Rosatom.
The FBI was investigating bribes, kickbacks and racketeering by the Russian conglomerates American subsidiary calculated to compromise contracts in the American nuclear energy industry and the Attorney Generals representative sat on CFIUS, the statement from ACLJ notes.
The ACLJ points out that the Obama administration deal puts Russian President Vladimir Putin closer to his goal of controlling much of the global uranium supply chain. They also point out that Russian nuclear officials had reportedly given $145 million to the Clinton Foundation while then-Secretary Clintons representative sat on the CFIUS. Bill Clinton also received $500,000 from the Russian government for a speech in Moscow.
The ACLJs FOIA, and now the resulting lawsuit, seeks information that would shed light on this ill-advisedand, frankly, foolishdeal approved by CFIUS. The charge does not implicate the Trump campaign.
The charge against van der Zwaan does not involve election meddling or the Trump campaigns operations. It stems from the special counsels investigation into a covert Washington lobbying campaign Manafort and Gates are accused of directing on behalf of pro-Russian Ukrainian interests, WCNC reports.
Judge Amy Jackson has agreed to expedite van der Zwaans sentencing because his wife Eva Kahn, the daughter of Russian oligarch German Kahn, is pregnant and living in London.
