Look At Jimmy Carter, An Admirer Of Jesus-- Now Look At Donald Trump, A Worshipper Of Mammon "IndyWatch Feed"

I don't know a better observer of life in America's evangelical communities than author and filmmaker (and former evangelical) Frank Schaefer. He and I are both working on a project called VoteCommonGood, "an effort to dislodge control of Congress from the Republican Party by inspiring Christians to vote on November 6, 2018 according to what our faith tells us is the Common Good. This is the answer to the white evangelicals who put Trump in power and thereby demoted Jesus. We at VCG," he continued, "are brokenhearted and angry about the turn our nation has taken, and the role many of our fellow Christians have played in that turn in electing a thug. The Trumpism take-over of the Republican Party departs from Americas best norms and principles. This is lynch mob America, not Lincolns country. Trumpism is an affront to the teachings of Jesus. Put plainly, the Republican-led Congress lacks the moral standing to do its work as a check and balance on the Presidency. Vote Common Good is hitting the road in a 35 city tour to work for candidates out to flip the House, encouraging and equipping you to do your part to help dislodge Congress from Republican Trump enablers clutches and restore it to patriotic humane people."

DC Candidate Amanda Beale Deletes Twitter Account After Gateway Pundit Report on Her Campaign Fundraising Off of Brutal Beating of White Woman "IndyWatch Feed"

Amanda Beale, a candidate for the Washington, D.C., Advisory Neighborhood Council 8E02, deleted her Twitter account following a report by The Gateway Pundit about her tweets cheering and fundraising off of the brutal beating of an elderly white woman who was attacked by passengers on the X2 Metrobus last Tuesday and then beaten bloody after she got off the bus when she called the harassing passengers the n-word.

Screen image shows elderly white woman in a bloody heap on the sidewalk after beating for saying the n-word.

The excerpted video shows the woman saying she didnt want to listen to the music that a rider was playing (against Metro rules, BTW) and saying to someone arguing with her, you just fucking smacked my head. A passenger replies, telling her to shut-up. The woman gets up and several riders yell at her to get off the bus. It is then the woman responds with the n-word, saying nigger-asses.

Beale had posted a copy of the video with her comments cheering the attack and then added reply tweets seeking donations for her ANC campaign.

Judicial Watch Sues Defense Department on Behalf of Whistleblower Who Lost Security Clearance After Raising Questions About Trump Camp Spy Halper "IndyWatch Feed"

Stefan Halper

As previously reported, in the fall of 2016, Pentagon analyst Adam Lovinger complained to his bosses about Trump campaign spy Stefan Halpers exorbitant contracts.

In May 2017 Adam Lovinger was stripped of his security clearance for speaking out against the questionable contracts to Stefan Halper.

Adam Lovinger was dispatched to the NSC from the Pentagon following General Mike Flynns departure from the White House. Lovinger, an ally of Flynn, was reportedly removed by White House official H. R. McMaster.

On Monday, conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch announced it sued the Defense Department on behalf of Lovinger who lost his security clearance after blowing the whistle the Trump campaign spy planted by Obamas corrupt FBI.

Not only was Stefan Halper paid over $400,000 by the Washington Headquarters, an $11 million contract was also granted to a D.C. consulting firm Long Term Strategy Group The firm is owned by Chelsea Clintons best friend, Jacqueline Newmyer Deal.

Big Banks Were Meant to Gain From Bipartisan Deregulation Bill All Along, Senate Letter Reveals "IndyWatch Feed"

Democrats who collaborated on the bank deregulation law passed earlier this year have categorically insisted that it only benefits small community banks and credit unions.

Take Sean Patrick Maloney, a House Democrat who is simultaneously running for both re-election and New York attorney general the so-called Sheriff of Wall Street position. He was asked recently on a local radio show about his yes vote.

If you look at the African-American Credit Union Association and the African-American small bankers, they are the guys who benefited from easing some of the restrictions, Maloney said, using lenders of color as a shield for his vote. Maloney maintained that the legislation didnt touch any of the important restrictions we put on the big banks. Its been his go-to refrain each time hes been pressed on the Dodd-Frank rollback, echoing a chorus of lawmakers singing songs of sincere deregulatory innocence.

But a letter sent by seven Senate Republicans last week suggests that the law is trying to do precisely what its critics warned: provide regulatory relief for some of the largest banks in the country.

The letter, headlined by Senate Banking Committee member David Perdue, R-Ga., is a classic Washington document, signed by members of Congress but transparently prepared by lobbying groups looking to add congressional backing for their priorities. While the bills author, Senate Banking Committee Chair Mike Crapo, R-Idaho, isnt on the letter, thats likely because it would be messy to have the senator who promised Democrats in negotiations that big banks wouldnt benefit from the legislation turn around and assist the lobbying efforts of those very institutions.

The shadow authors of the letter represent banks holding between $100 billion and $250 billion in U.S. assets. Twenty-five of the 38 largest U.S. banks fall into this category. They have become known on Capitol Hill as the stadium banks, because theyre not quite big enough to be called a megabank, but big enough to buy the naming rights to a stadium.

The stadium banks, which include the U.S. subsidiaries of foreign-run banks, want to make sure the Federal Reserve wipes out all enhanced regulatory standards established in Dodd-Frank for firms of their size. The bank deregulation law all...

In July Obama Praised South African Leader for Inspiring Great Hope On Monday the South African Leader Seized White-Owned Farms "IndyWatch Feed"

Barack Obama traveled to South Africa in July and delivered a speech at the 2018 Nelson Mandela Annual Lecture in Johannesburg.

During the speech Obama called for guaranteed income.

Obama also praised South African President Cyril Ramaphosa for quote, Inspiring great hope in this country.

Tucker Carlson pointed out these stunning comments on his show.

Tucker Carlson: Obama began his remarks by thanking South African President Cyril Ramaphosa for, quote, Inspiring great hope in this country. Now if youve been following whats going on in South Africa you might be shocked by that because it turns out Ramaphosa recently declared that he would change the South African constitution and he will do it for the explicit purpose of persecuting a racial minority, seizing their land without compensation not because they committed a specific crime but because they are the wrong color Thanks to policies like this many South Africans have already been murdered in race killings and many more are fleeing the country for their lives. Its not covered here but its covered in the rest of the world and its real.

At first glance, it seems odd that the president tweeted this yesterday:

Trump's early mentor Roy Cohn was McCarthy's chief counsel. Trump's ex-advisor Steve Bannon has defended McCarthy, as has another advisor, Ann Coulter, who praises him highly. And as Politico's Michael Kruse notes, Trump has quite a bit in common with McCarthy:
McCarthy, after all, was an essentially destructive force, according to biographer Richard H. Rovere. He was a chronic opportunist. He was a political speculator. He was a Republican who had started as a Democrat. He was a fertile innovator, a first-rate organizer and galvanizer of mobs, a skilled manipulator of public opinion, and something like a genius at that essential American strategy: publicity. He was a vulgarian. He was a man with an almost aesthetic preference for untruth. He faked it all and could not understand anyone who didnt. He made sages of screwballs and accused wise men of being fools. He was the first American ever to be actively hated and feared by foreigners in large numbers. He favored the third person.
But how much of this do you believe Trump knows? Do you think he could pass even a basic quiz on McCarthy? Do you think he could name McCarthy's state, or his party, or even the approximate years McCarthy served in the Senate? Do you think he could describe what McCarthy did, whom he accused, or who ultimately challenged him?

To Trump, McCarthy is a brand. He's the gold standard if you want to drop the name of a political persecutor. Trump doesn't know any more about Joe McCarthy than he does about George Patton and Douglas MacArthur, generals whose names he also likes to drop. Trump just knows that th...

SWAMP. Claire McCaskills Family Made Over $131 MILLION in Govt. Subsidies Since Shes Been in DC "IndyWatch Feed"

$131,000 Million

In July The Kansas City Star reported on how businesses tied to Claire McCaskills family received $131 MILLION in federal dollars since shes been in Washington DC.

In an interview with Politically Speaking, Claire McCaskill complained about TV ads informing Missouri voters that their Senator has made millions off of taxpayer subsidized housing, calling them incredibly false.

But its unclear exactly what McCaskill takes issue with. Does she dispute the Kansas City Stars reporting that her husbands low-income housing businesses have received $131 million in taxpayer subsidies since she took office? Or perhaps shes disputing the same reports assertion that her husbands income from the companies receiving those subsidies has grown exponentially during his wifes two terms in the Senate.

Since McCaskill was unable to refute either claim when the story was written, has she found some new evidence that they are false?

Heres the audio:

Ohio Prisoners Face Crackdown For Speaking Publicly About National Strike "IndyWatch Feed"

Ohio prison officials revoked phone access for one year and suspended other privileges for an incarcerated activist, who spoke publicly in support of a nationwide prison protest scheduled to begin August 21.

Siddique Abdullah Hasan has advocated prisoner resistance for decades from death row at the Ohio State Penitentiary, where he has lived ever since a court ruled he was complicit in the death of a corrections officer during the 1993 Lucasville Uprising.

The severe disciplinary action he faces is illustrative of the absurd lengths to which prison officials will go to prevent prisoners from speaking about the upcoming strike. The incident also exposes how prison officials are adapting their efforts to preempt prisoner resistance through social media surveillance and targeted harassment.

Hasan was placed on lockdown on July 27 after Brian Wittrup filed a conduct report. Wittrup leads the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections (ODRC) Bureau of Classification, which places him in charge of prisoners security level and housing placements.

Wittrup wrote that the chief inspectors office and his bureaus Security Threat Group Intelligence Unit were tipped off on Hasan in the process of monitoring communications and social media postings related to planning a nationwide prison strike from August 21 to September 9, 2018.

On Monday, July 16, mail room staff at the Ohio State Penitentiary screened correspondence for inmate Sanders (Hasan) R130-559 sent to him by an approved visitor Ben Turk. The correspondence was propaganda supporting the prison strike this year.

Turk is an abolitionist organizer who has worked alongside Hasan and other prisoners for years. He told Shadowproof the propaganda to which Wittrup was referring was an edition of the Fire Inside zine, featuring perspectives on the September 9, 2016 strikes from activists on both sides of the prison walls.

The zine also endorsed upcoming prisoner-led direct actions to demand an end to slave labor, abusive conditions, a lack of opportunity and rehabilitation, and more. It placed the upcoming strike in the context of recent uprisings, like that which occurred at the Crossroads Correctional Center in Missouri and the hunger strikes and work stoppages at Angola.

An Anti-Red Wave Is Far More Likely Than A Blue Wave-- And That's Mostly What We're Seeing "IndyWatch Feed"

The same clowns who didn't see a that Ocasio was about to eviscerate Crowley don't even understand that WI-01 is a key House race. Credibility: zero

Recently, Bill Maher invited Lawrence O'Donnell on his show to talk about Deadly Force a book he wrote in 1983 but that is about to be re-released with a new preface and afterward. The segment wasn't exactly electrifying but when Maher asked O'Donnell to predict what's going to happen in the midterms, O'Donnell was savvy enough to explain he doesn't knowing that his knowledge of electoral politics doesn't give him any special abilities to add to common wisdom. That kind of self-awareness is rare in his field.

On Sunday, CBS News ran a piece by their chief pollster, Anthony Salvanto, Democrats in stronger position to take the House: CBS News Battleground Tracker. But Salvanto ins't joining the crowd predicting an historic 50-80 seat flip, not even close. "Democrats have improved their standing in the fight for control of the House of Representatives," he wrote. "Our House model now shows the party poised to win 222 seats if the election were today, up from our estimate of 219 earlier this summer. The range on that estimate is plus or minus 11 seats, or 5% of House seats. It reflects the political reality that many contests are still toss-ups and that Republicans are still in a position to hold the House, if a less comfortable one. Even if Democrats' seat gains are in the double digits, there are plausible scenarios in which Republicans hang on to control."

Professional Women Are Coming for the GOP "IndyWatch Feed"

The political condition of the Republican Party is not static. Their position has deteriorated steadily over the last year. At this point, one out of six Republican seats in the House of Representatives is going uncontested by the incumbent and, according to Dave Wasserman of the Cook Political Report, the pool of vulnerable GOP-held districts has nearly doubled over the last eight months.

Wasserman explains this trend in a fairly easy to understand way. The first point he makes is one Ive been making off and on myself, which is that Trumps strongest supporters have never liked House Republicans (or Senators, for that matter) and that they therefore cannot be counted on to show up to vote for them.

They believed in Trump fervently, but theyve never liked congressional Republicans at all. In fact, Trump gained ground by running against them in 2016. So why are they going to turn out this year for congressional Republicans?

Theres a lot of overlap between these voters and the voters who made up the Tea Party surge of 2010. They arent matching Democratic enthusiasm this time around.

The second explanation Wasserman offers is one that is observable to even the most casually engaged voter.

The most telling number in the most recent NBC/WSJ poll is that Trumps approval rating among women with college degrees was 26 percent. Thats absolutely awful and the intensity of that group is extraordinary. Theyre already the most likely demographic to turn out to vote in midterms. But never have they been this fervently anti-Republican.

Yes, its about how upset suburban professional women are, with regard to family separations at the border and Trumps temperament and behavior.

I think its severely inadequate to attribute this hostility from college-educated women to distaste for child kidnapping at the border and Trumps personality and behavior. What distinguishes college-educated women is that their very existence as independent, professional women is now threatened. If Brett Kavanaugh is confirmed to the Supreme Court, there will be a conservative majority to overturn Roe v. Wade for the first time. Womens reproductive health will come under assault not just from Republican legislators. Restrictions on access to contraceptives can be expected to be upheld in the courts. Women will find it harder to find relief for workplace harassment, discrimination and unequal treatment....

Temperature Correlation Scale Over Time and Distance "IndyWatch Feed"

What makes global temperature anomalies plots and maps go is the correlation of temperatures over a large area.  This also is key to homogenization of individual station data when something like position or time of day when measurements are made changes.  ATTP has a discussion going along these lines and perhaps Eli, as a long time observer, can add a bit of history and even some new insights.

The first (as far as Eli and most of the Bunnies know) study to make use of this was the ur-GISSTemp work of Hansen and Lebedeff in 1987 which settled on a correlation distance of ~1000 km, but noting a variation with latitude shown to the left.  The figure can be enlarged by clicking on it.

At middle and high latitudes the correlations approach unity as the station separation becomes small; the correlations fall below 0.5 at a station separation of about 1200 km, on the average. At low latitudes the mean correlation is only 0.5 at small station separation.
that they ascribed to

The distance over which strong correlations are maintained at high latitudes probably reflects the dominance of mixing by large-scale eddies. At low latitudes the most active atmospheric dynamical scales are smaller, but apparently there are also substantial coherent temperature variations on very large scales (for example, due to the quasi-biennial oscillation, Southern Oscillation, and E1 Nifio phenomena), which account for the slight tendency toward positive correlations at large station separations.

Casper, Alexander and Vose advanced the climateball in 2006, but to some, maybe only in Eli view not enough, notice, measuring how the correlation depended on season as well as latitude, clearly showing that the correlation dis...

Protest Song Of The Week: Politics By Bobby Sessions "IndyWatch Feed"

The following was originally published at Ongoing History Of Protest Songs.

On July 24, 2012, James Germon Harper, an unarmed black man, was shot to death by a Dallas police man. Harper was the cousin of rapper Bobby Sessions. That experience heavily influenced the songs from Sessions 2018 major label debut, RVLTN-Chapter 1:The Divided States Of AmeriKKKa.

In an interview with Billboard, Sessions explained how he was able to channel the death of his cousin in a positive way: I feel like I was fortunate to be blessed with an ability to make music. Thats my therapy. Now for someone that doesnt have that outlet, I dont know exactly what that therapy should be. I feel like for me being able to make music and being able to study our history pre-slavery, where I learned how great people of color are, it made me feel very empowered.

One of the politically-charged tunes on the album is the hard-hitting Politics. The song explores a range of issues connected with the black American experience including police brutality, kneeling for the national anthem, and for-profit prisons.

Both the video and tune support Colin Kaepernick and other NFL players, who take a knee during the playing of the national anthem. Sessions make it clear that the same people, who want to stop kneeling on the field, also want to lock us up.

Like several athletes who use their platform to shed light on important issues, Sessions is does the same with his music.

There are those that want to enjoy their sports and entertainment without politics. They want to enjoy their escapism without being forced to think about uncomfortable topics. But sometimes we need to feel uncomfortable. Lasting change wont happen until were willing to have uncomfortable discussions.

Facebook Suspended a Latin American News Network and Gave Three Different Reasons Why "IndyWatch Feed"

On August 13, Facebook shut down the English-language page of Telesur, blocking access for roughly half a million followers of the leftist media network until it was abruptly reinstated two days later. Facebook has provided three different explanations for the temporary disappearing, all contradicting one another, and not a single one making sense.

Telesur was created by Venezuelas then-President Hugo Chvez in 2005 and co-funded by hemispheric neighbors Cuba, Bolivia, Nicaragua, and Uruguay Argentina pulled support for the web and cable property in 2016. As a state-owned media property, it exists somewhere on the same continuum as RT and Al Jazeera, though like the former, Telesur has been criticized as a nakedly partisan governmental mouthpiece, and like the latter, it does engage in real news reporting. But putting aside questions of bias and agenda, Telesur does seem to exist on a separate plane than, say, Infowars, which exists primarily to peddle its particular, patently false genre of right-wing paranoia fan fiction packaged as news (and brain pills), as opposed to some garden-variety political agenda. Unlike RT, Telesur hasnt been singled-out for a role in laundering disinformation for military intelligence purposes, nor is it a hoax factory,  la Alex Jones.

So it was unexpected when Telesur English blinked out of existence on the 13th, and even stranger when Facebook struggled to explain its own actions. At the time of its suspension, Telesur received this boilerplate message from Facebook:

Your Page teleSUR English has been removed for violating our Terms of Use. A Facebook Page is a distinct presence used solely for business or promotional purposes. Figures. Leading Hollywood Voice of #MeToo Movement Paid Off Boy She Was Having Sex With "IndyWatch Feed"

Hollywood predator Asia Agento

A leading voice of the #MeToo movement against sexual assault paid off an underage boy she was having sex with.
Via The Hollywood Reporter:

Argento was one of the first and most vocal accusers of disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.

Asia Argento, the Italian actress who was one of the first to publicly accuse Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault, secretly paid off a young male actor accusing her of sexual misconduct in the months after her revelations about the disgraced movie mogul.

According to a report in The New York Times, Argento paid former child actor Jimmy Bennett $380,000. Bennett claims that in 2013, a then 37-year-old Argento assaulted him in a California hotel only two months past his 17th birthday. The age of consent in California is 18.

The Times reports that is has seen the legal documents that layout Bennetts assault claims and the payments arranged between his lawyers and Argentos.

Mike Cernovich posted a series of tweets on the creepy Hollywood predator and the 17-year-old victim.

This was creepy.

E.J. Dionne believes America is "slouching toward autocracy" -- but although what Dionne describes is terrible, "autocracy" isn't the right word for it. It has autocratic elements, however:

... Trump revoked former CIA director John Brennans security clearance in retaliation for Brennans criticism of him (and, as Trump confessed in a Wall Street Journal interview, because he objected to Brennan doing his job in 2016 by probing connections between Trumps campaign and Russia)....

The list of ominous signs goes on and on: Trump invoking Stalins phrase enemies of the people to describe a free press; the firing, one after another, of public servants who moved to expose potential wrongdoing, starting with then-FBI Director James B. Comey; Trumps effusive praise of foreign despots; his extravagantly abusive (and often racially charged) language against opponents; and his refusal to abide by traditional practices about disclosing his own potential conflicts of interest and those of his family. Add to this the authoritarians habit of institutionalizing lying as a routine aspect of governing....
The purges at the Justice Department are certainly autocratic -- though a true autocrat would have long since ended the Russia probe, and Trump hasn't. Trump's White House counsel seems to be cooperating with the probe, as is the lawyer who was Trump's fixer for years. Trump cooperated with the probe early on, even though advisers told him not to.

Trump has stripped one critic of a security clearance and is said to have plans to do the same to others, but in that he's courting the Streisand effect -- he's raising the profile of Brennan (and possibly others), thus helping them get their message across.

Much of what Dionne describes is demagoguery, not autocracy. Trump is poisoning minds through speech, but he's misusing a power all presidents have. He fights his enemies, and he doesn't fight by the rules, but it's clear that he'd rather have the enemies as foils than crush them. (Last week, Politico reported that Trump and his inner circle actually believe losing the House to Democrats would be beneficial to Trump, because he could then rally his base against the party that set out to impeach him, assum...

The Republican Wing Of The Democratic Party Will Always Fight The Progressive Vision Harder Than They Fight Republicans "IndyWatch Feed"

Although it's completely what the DCCC encourages, the best Democratic congressional candidates aren't just hoping to get swept into office by the anti-red wave. The best candidates arguing beyond what the Republicans have done to us into what the Democrats will do for us. Progressives are talking about Medicare-For-All, free state colleges and universities, spending real money to tackle the opioid crisis, passing a paid medical and family leave program, job guarantee, incentivizing veteran hiring, a massive investment in green infrastructure, moving towards 100% renewable energy, student loan debt relief... As NBC News reported Sunday, "Democratic candidates are sending a message: We're the party that isn't afraid to think big." The DCCC and their establishment candidates is campaigning for the status quo ante. Progressives are pursuing a transformative policy agenda.

The Democratic establishment is more conservative than the Republicans. They both sing from the same hymnal but the GOP is always ready to abandon fiscal responsibility for their priorities-- tax cuts, corporate subsidies, the military-- but Democratic leaders are too scared to. "Democratic congressional leaders are sending a parallel message: We're the party of responsible budgets. Elect us if you're mad about President Donald Trump racking up trillion-dollar deficits with his gigantic tax cut."

Brian Schatz, progressive senator from Hawaii, toldNBC that "The instinct that some Democrats have, which is born out of a sense of responsibility as the 'governing' party, is to explain exactly how you're going to pay for everything and how it all adds up. It puts you at a total disadvantage because you're already constraining your priorities." That's the clarion call the Democrats on the Senate Buget Committee learned from their 2015-16 Chief Economist, Stephanie Kelton, who left that position to work as the Bernie campaign's economic advisor. (She's a founding fellow of the Sanders Institute and head of the Center for the Study of Inequality and Social Justice at Stony Brook University.) When I read Schatz's...

The Great War over Furs and Frozen Wastes "IndyWatch Feed"

I just finished reading a book about King William's War, which is what Americans call the fighting between the British and the French (plus settlers and Indian allies) that broke out after the Glorious Revolution of 1688. This was a very important event in North American history, setting the pattern followed by all the other North American wars down to 1763. The events of that war kept happening over and over: the British, egged on by New Englanders, kept repeating its siege of Quebec; armies marched over and over down the same roads, boated along the same lakes and rivers, besieged the same forts and fought battles in the same places.

But what I learned from this book that stays with me is that besides fighting on the St. Lawrence, the Mohawk, the Hudson, the St. Johns, Lake Champlain, Lake Ontario, Lake Erie, and the Gulf of Maine, the British and French also fought each other on Hudson Bay.

Imagine: this vast, cold body of water, its only entrance blocked by ice as much as ten months a year, thousands of miles from Europe at the end of a horrifically dangerous voyage that claimed uncounted mariners; I marvel that anyone sailed there, let alone fought a war there. But fight they did.

The Bay's history with Europeans started badly. The first Europeans to see it sailed with Henry Hudson, an Englishman who was then in the pay of the Dutch. They worked their way around the southern coast of Greenland past Baffin Island and into the Hudson Strait really, the man certainly named a lot of stuff after himself searching like so many others for the Northwest Passage. Instead they found a vast inland sea. By the time they reached the southern shore it was too late in the season to sail back, so they were trapped by the ice. They wintered over on the shores of James Bay, surviving by bartering with nearby Indians. When the ice finally broke up in...

Crow Games "IndyWatch Feed"

Crows can do lots of interesting things:
Puy du Fou, a historical theme park in the Loire region about four hours from Paris, has trained six crows to pick up cigarette butts and bits of trash and dump them in a box. . . .

The theme parks owners would rather have humans properly dispose of their own candy wrappers and cigarettes. The crows are part of an educational campaign to prompt the ecologically minded to take their rubbish with them.

We want to educate people not to throw their garbage on the ground, said Nicolas de Villiers, the president of Puy du Fou. That is especially true of smokers who casually flick lit cigarettes and extinguish them with the tips of their shoes. As Mr. de Villiers put it, if crows can be schooled to pick up trash, why cant humans?
The crows are rewarded with food for this but according to their trainer they do it for fun, as a game, and quickly get bored if they are asked to do it too much.

Top Far Left Organizations Bragged About Working with Facebook and Twitter to Censor and Eliminate Conservative Content "IndyWatch Feed"

In January 2017 after Hillary Clinton was shellacked in the November 2016 election top Democrat operatives at Media Matters, Share Blue, American Bridge, and CREW came together and released their two-year plan to take back power in Washington DC.

Share Blue is a far left website that works with the Democrat party and claims to reach 140 million people a month.

The Washington Free Beacon obtained a copy of this document

The Free Beacon published this lengthy document by David Brock, the founder of Soros-funded Media Matters website, from a January donor retreat.

The 49 page memo outlined how the George Soros-funded groups Media Matters, American Bridge, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) and Shareblue planned to undermine President Trumps agenda and help Democrats win control of Congress and the White House by 2020.

On page two of the plan these top far left organizations announced their strategy.

They will work with the tech giants to eliminate right wing propaganda and fake news.

It is right there on page 2:

The document then claims that Media Matters and far left groups have access to raw data from Facebook, Twitter, and other social media sites so they can systemically monitor and analyze this unfiltered data.

According to their report these far left groups have been working with Facebook and Twitter to eliminate conser...

Trump Administration Says Deportable Immigrants Cant Go to the Courts Even if Their First Amendment Rights Are Violated "IndyWatch Feed"

If U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is trying to silence its most vocal critics by singling them out for deportation among the nearly 1 million people in the United States with final orders of removal, is there any check or remedy for that abuse of power? Is there any court, or indeed, any authority at all outside the executive branch, with the power to protect those activists First Amendment rights?

That was the position articulated by Justice Department lawyers on Tuesday before a panel of judges on the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals in New York City. The hearing was meant to determine whether the court should issue a stay preventing ICE from deporting just such a figure, Ravi Ragbir, executive director of the New Sanctuary Coalition of New York City, before he has a chance to assert his constitutional claim in federal court.

Tuesdays hearing in New York was only a small part of an already complex court battle: As The Intercept reported at the time, Ragbir is one of the plaintiffs along with the New Sanctuary Coalition, four other immigrant rights groups, and some 79 friend-of-the-court supporters at last count in a First Amendment lawsuit filed in February accusing ICE officials of targeting activists around the country for deportation, effectively prioritizing the expulsion of its political enemies.

We are creating an agency that is unaccountable and is permitted to disappear those who are in the best position to educate the public about what this agency is actually doing.

The stakes of the argument are high, and not only for undocumented people, said Alina Das, a professor at New York University Law School and one of Ragbirs attorneys. Saying theres a group of people who can be literally banished from this country for any reason, even if it violates their constitutional rights, creates a vulnerable class, and when their rights arent respected, it hurts both them and society as a whole, she said. If ICE is given free reign to silence their critics, we are creating an agency that is unaccountable and is permitted to disappear those who are in the best position to educate the public about what this agency is actually doing. That should be a scary prospect for anyone living in this country.

In May, Judge Kevin Castel ruled against Ragbir in a motion seeking preliminary injunction to prevent ICE from deporting him before the First Amendment lawsuit can be resolved. While the rest of the lawsuit is still pending in district court, Ragbir has appealed that ruling. The 2nd Circuit wont get to the substance of that appeal for another month or more, but Tuesdays hearing concerne...

US: Free Speech Hate Speech Limitations On Free Speech "IndyWatch Feed"

Midnight Meme Of The Day! "IndyWatch Feed"

by Noah
Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.
- Martin Luther King Jr.
Previously, although my contempt for such people has been more than clear, I have refrained from using the 's' word when it came to Trump's brainwashed minions. I have refrained from calling Trump supporters stupid, but there comes a point where you just have to say enough is enough. Those who call for civility in discourse on the subject of Trump with his supporters and apologists are just inviting for more if not begging for more manifestations of stupidity and the disaster that tolerance and enabling of Trump will inevitably bring. The sign in today's meme is a sign of the times if there ever was one. To not call out this sign for what it reflects is asking for an escalation of more of the same and worse.

I've encountered enough Trumpies to know that Trump supporters don't make their claims and embrace the meanings of their statements because they are trying to be outrageous, mean-spirited, or bigoted. They make their statements because they actually believe them to be true. That they often can't form coherent sentences to express their mental chaos is a symptom of how they got to the sad little worlds they live in. Hence, the sign.

I've had this meme on file for some time. It sat in computer storage until Friday morning when a friend sent it it to me along with the quote from Martin Luther King Jr's 1963 "Strength To Love" book. The quote was the missing piece that I needed to use the meme as a Midnight Meme Of The Day. It's not only perfect for the times but it demonstrates what a prophet MLK was. The fact that I'm using the quote of an African-American to describe Trump supporters is a little extra side bonus in that it will irritate them all the more. King, himself said he didn't consider himself "inextricably bound......

Better To Dream "IndyWatch Feed"

GstaadI need it like Boris needs a bleach job. Another birthday, that is. Birthdays tend to make ones life pass before him in a flash. As it does, I imagine, while facing a firing squad, or a samurai intending harm. I mention the latter because I recently dreamed of living in a feudal society where samurai ruled supreme. And how happy I was until I woke up. Now soulless bureaucrats rule instead of samurai, and it makes for a crappier world.

Looking backnot much point in looking ahead, is there?I regret some things, like missing an education in the classics. But most of all, I should have gone and lived in Japan when I was young. I began karate training 55 years ago and have never missed a day except when injured. The Japanese I trained with were brave and very polite, loved the past, and honored their ancestors. And most of them yearned for a feudal system, like I do. Multiculturalism in Japan was something to scare tiny misbehaving children with. Now its too late, but I shall be visiting this year and have a fight arranged with Master Wada, in his late 60s and also looking forward to it.

But for the moment I think back of absent friends like Nick Scott, and worry about the health of Commodore Tim Hoare, and have come to the conclusion that Jeremy Clarke is very wise to choose to live in a cave, as the whole place is about to be overrun by the barbarians. (Its the last place theyd wish to return to.) Absent friends are often on ones mind as the years roll by. No use listing them, this space would be one long name-drop, but its funny how they remain active in ones dreams. Especially just before dawn and the wake-up call. The recent dream I previously mentioned about a feudal society was extremely vivid. It included a Spartan partboth my maternal grandparents were Spartans and had sent five sons to the front the day after war was declared in 1940. Although I revered Sparta as a child, I followed an Athenian way of life. Alcibiades was and is my hero, and the all-knowing professor Peter Jones will guess why: The individual is more important than the statethe basis of conservative thought, I suppose. I used the conservative creed for different purposes, to amuse and enjoy myself.

Russia Hysteria Undercuts Our Values "IndyWatch Feed"

The mainstream media and out-of-touch politicians and bureaucrats want us to believe that the Cold War never ended, its a crime to talk with a Russian, and we should all be fearful of any Russians here in the U.S. Apparently our $21 trillion national debt, lack of border security, and the threat of radical Islamic terrorism pale in comparison to the grave threat posed by Russia.

This is yet another example of the disconnect between Beltway talking heads and the American people. Hard-working Americans including constituents in my Kentucky district care about jobs, paying the bills, putting food on the table, and leaving this country a better place for their children. The alleged vast Russian conspiracy harped upon by the Democrats and media since the election of President Trump is simply not a concern of normal Americans.

To date, proof of a Russian conspiracy to interfere in U.S. elections includes only Special Counsel Robert Muellers indictments of 13 Russian nationals and 12 Russian intelligence officers. The Russian nationals are accused of identity theft that allowed them to create fake social media accounts, and the 12 Russian intelligence officers are alleged to have hacked into the computers of the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clintons campaign prior to the 2016 election. Most importantly, all indictments fail to allege that a single U.S. vote was changed.

Unfortunately, what began as only Russophobic rhetoric seems to have turned into a witch hunt, as President Trump calls it.

For example, the current hysteria may have motivated the recent arrest and indictment of Maria Butina, a former Russian graduate student at American University in Washington, D.C.  Unlike many accused of violent crimes, Butina (who has not been accused of harming anyone) was denied bail, and is now reportedly being held in solitary confinement in federal prison until her trial. The indictment claims she acted as an unregistered agent of the Russian government. Thin on substance, it oddly suggests, for example, that attendance at a National Prayer Breakfast is something nefarious.

My colleague Dana Rohrabacher and I met with the Russian delegation that attended the prayer breakfast last year. Congressman Rohrabacher, a former speechwriter for President Reagan during the Cold War, was once on the front lines with the mujahedeen when they fought the Soviets, yet even he now faces criticism for seeking better relations with Russia.

While our justice system has always upheld the presumption of innocent until proven guilty, the relentless negative press surrounding Butinas arrest presumes her guilt. So far, the evidence mostly shows that she is simply a strong supporter of the right to bear arms, has advocated for this right in Russia, and genuinely hoped for improved Russia-U.S. relations. These are...

Major Rapper Attacks Me "IndyWatch Feed"

Shop all books by Tom Woods

This is a juicy one, folks.

For 12 straight hours, and now again today, rapper Taleb Kweli whos evidently a big deal, though I hadnt heard of him went on the attack against me, and against some of my followers.

It was bizarre.

On my entrepreneurship email list I wrote about some business lessons I drew from this.

It began when someone linked to my lecture on Hitlers views of economics, in order to demonstrate to Talib that Hitler wasnt really a free-market guy.

Instead of evaluating my claims, Talib went around looking for evidence that I was a bad person.

He then replied, speaking about me:

He is a vile racist.

Huh? Evidently Talib based this claim on an article by of all people Max Boot, who as I recall did not actually accuse me of racism. Boot is a pretty awful neocon, though, and in any case I smashed his article in a reply that appeared in The American Conservative.

Then Talib said:

He is not respected in his field.

So I linked him to reviews of my book The Church Confronts Modernity (published by Columbia University Press), which was praised by all the major journals: Journal of American HistoryAmerican Historical ReviewJournal of the Historical SocietyCatholic Historical ReviewChoice (review publication for academic libraries), and numerous others.

Yes, I know it doesnt matter whether a rapper attacking me knows any of that, but sometimes you just say things anyway.

Now for a few snippets. (If you have images disabled, you wont see them.) Hard to reproduce many of Talibs, since his language is so foul, but its all there on Twitter, and...

The Mind of the Mass Media "IndyWatch Feed"

The mind of the mass media: Email exchange between myself and a leading Washington Post foreign policy reporter:

Dear Mr. Birnbaum,

You write Trump made no mention of Russias adventures in Ukraine. Well, neither he nor Putin nor you made any mention of Americas adventures in Ukraine, which resulted in the overthrow of the Ukrainian government in 2014, which led to the justified Russian adventure. Therefore ?

If Russia overthrew the Mexican government would you blame the US for taking some action in Mexico?

William Blum

Dear Mr. Blum,

Thanks for your note. Americas adventures in the Ukraine: what are you talking about? Last time I checked, it was Ukrainians in the streets of Kiev who caused Yanukovych to turn tail and run. Whether or not that was a good thing, we can leave aside, but it wasnt the Americans who did it.

It is, however, Russian special forces who fanned out across Crimea in February and March 2014, according to Putin, and Russians who came down from Moscow who stoked conflict in eastern Ukraine in the months after, according to their own accounts.

Best, Michael Birnbaum

To MB,

I can scarcely believe your reply. Do you read nothing but the Post? Do you not know of high State Dept official Victoria Nuland and the US Ambassador in Ukraine in Maidan Square to encourage the protesters? She spoke of 5 billion (sic) dollars given to aid the protesters who were soon to overthrow the govt. She and the US Amb. spoke openly of who to choose as the next president. And hes the one who became president. This is all on tape. I guess you never watch Russia Today (RT). God forbid! I read the Post every day. You should watch RT once in a while.

William Blum

To WB,

I was the Moscow bureau chief of the newspaper; I reported extensively in Ukraine in the months and years following the protests. My observations are not based on reading. RT is not a credible news outlet, but I certainly do read far beyond our own pages, and of course I talk to the actual actors on the ground myself thats my job.

And: yes, of course Nuland was in the Maidan but encouraging the protests, as she clearly did, is not the same as sparking them or directing them, nor is playing favorites with potential successors, as she clearly did, the same as being directly responsible for overthrowing the government. Im not saying the United States wasnt involved in trying to shape events. So were Russia and the European Union. But Ukrainians were in the drivers seat the whole way...

Leftism "IndyWatch Feed"

Leftism: From de Sade and Marx to Hitler and Marcuse, by Erik von Kuehnelt-Leddihn (EvKL)

The purpose of this book is to show the character of leftism and to what extent and in what way the vast majority of the leftist ideologies now dominating or threatening most of the modern world are competitors rather than enemies.

This book, published in 1974 by Arlington House Publishers, examines all facets of leftist political ideology, as you can tell from the title.  Hitler a leftist?  Yup.

EvKL examines leftism throughout Europe and North America; having travelled and taught extensively and with an understanding of over a dozen languages he seems eminently qualified to opine on the matter.

Given his background, he can make with some authority statements such as:

I think that the nascent United States of the late eighteenth century was already in the throes of warring political philosophies showing positive and negative aspects. The American War of Independence had an undeniable influence on the French Revolution and the latter, in the course of the years, had a deplorable impact on America.

These two revolutions were not born of right and left; instead the two one supposedly leading to liberty and the other certainly leading to tyranny were born of, and developed into, common, albeit not identical, cloth.

EvKL does the reader a service by exposes his biases right up front:

I am a Christian: I am emphatically not a democrat but a devotee to the cause of personal liberty.  I would thoroughly subscribe to the words of Alexis de Tocqueville when he wrote, Despotism appears to me particularly to be dreaded in democratic ages. I think that I would have loved liberty at all times, but in the present age I am ready to worship it.

I dont know that this would make him a libertarian in the thin NAP sense of the term, but there you have it.  EvKL sees in the unwarranted connection of democracy with liberty the manifestation of the evils to be found in the twentieth century, not to exclude the evils perpetrated by the greatest of all democratic societies: the United States.

We have to remember all the wars, all the propaganda, all the pressure campaigns for the cause of democracy, how every hailed and applauded victory of democracy has ended in terrible defeat for personal liberty, the one cause really dear to Amer...

We Are All Lab Rats "IndyWatch Feed"

There are ample warning signs that another serious financial crisis is on the way.

These warning signs are being soundly ignored by the majority, though. Perhaps understandably so.

After 10 years of near-constant central bank interventions to prop up markets and make stocks, bonds and real estate rise in price while also simultaneously hammering commodities to mask the inflationary impact of their money printing from the masses its difficult to imagine that they will allow markets to ever fall again.

This is known as the central bank put: whenever the markets begin to teeter, the central banks will step in to prop/nudge/cajole the markets back towards the correct direction, which is always: Up!

Its easy in retrospect to see how the central banks have become caught in this trap of their own making, where theyre now responsible for supporting all the markets all the time.

The 2008 crisis really spooked them. Hence their massive money printing spree to rescue the system.

But instead of admitting that Great Financial Crisis was the logical result of flawed policies implemented after the 2000 Dot-Com crash (which, in turn, was the result of flawed policies pursued in the 1990s), the central banks decided after 2008 to double down on their bets implementing even worse policies.

The Largest-Ever Monetary Experiment In Human History

Its not hyperbole to say that the monetary experiment conducted over the past ten years by the worlds leading central banks (and its resulting social and political ramifications) is the largest-ever in human history:

This global flood of freshly-printed thin air money has no parallel in the historical records. All around the world, each of us is part of a grand experiment being conducted without the benefits of either prior experience or controls. Its outcome will be binary: either super-great or spectacularly awful.

If the former, then no worries. Well just continue to borrow and spend in ever-greater amounts forever. Perpetual prosperity for everyone!

But if things hit a breaking point, then you had better be prepared for some truly bad tim...

The CIA Owns the US and European Media "IndyWatch Feed"

William Blum shares with us his correspondence with Washington Post presstitute Michael Birnbaum. As you can tell from Birnbaums replies, he comes across as either very stupid or as a CIA asset.

When I received my briefing as staff associate, House Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, which required top secret clearance, I was told by senior members of the staff that the Washington Post was a CIA asset. Watching the Washington Posts takedown of President Richard Nixon with the orchestrated Watergate story, that became obvious. President Nixon had made too many overtures to the Soviets and too many arms limitations agreements, and he opened to China. Watching President Nixons peace initiatives water down the threat level from the Soviet Union and Maoist China, the military/security complex saw a threat to its budget and power and decided that Nixon had to go. The assassination of President John F. Kennedy had resulted in far too much skepticism about the Warren Commission Report, so the CIA decided to use the Washington Post to get rid of Nixon. To keep the clueless American left hating Nixon, the CIA used its assets in the leftwing to keep Nixon blamed for the Vietnam war, a war that Nixon inherited and did not want.

The CIA knew that Nixons problem was that he could not exit the war without losing his conservative base, which was convinced of the nonsensical Domino Theory. I have always wondered if the CIA concocted the Domino Theory, as it so well served them. Unable to get rid of the war with honor, Nixon was driven to brutal methods to force the North Vietnamese to accept a situation that he could depart without defeat and soiling Americas honor and losing his conservative support base. The North Vietnamese wouldnt bend, but the US Congress did, and so the CIA succeeded in discrediting among both the leftwing and righwing Nixons war management. With no one to defend him, Nixon was an easy target for the CIA.

Here is Blums exchange with Birnbaum. It is possible that Birnbaum is neither stupid nor a CIA asset, but just a person wanting to hold on to a job. The last thing he can afford to do is to disabuse readers of the Russian Threat when Bezos Amazon and Washington Post properties are dependent on the CIAs annual subsidy of $600 million disquised as a contract.

Genders as Social Constructs "IndyWatch Feed"

During a recent gay pride parade in Philly, a transgender woman was arrested for attempting to burn a Blue Lives Matter flag. The charges against ReeAnna Segin were arson, causing/risking a catastrophe and other misdemeanors. After Segin was released, however, her case smoldered on, for he/she claimed that his/her human rights and dignity were violated since he/she was locked up for four hours with male inmates, that is, with other humans cursed or gifted with a penis.

Having a dick, though, no longer means that one is male in the Disunited States of Whatever. Segins beef was amplified by all the Philly news outlets. In front of television crews, Segin demanded that cops be banned at future Pride Parades, We can protect ourselves from police and violent organizations on our own. We need to create a world where our trans family is safe.

I was sitting in Friendly Lounge, exercising my liver, as usual, when my friend Lisa expressed outrage at the polices treatment of ReeAnna Segin, to which I replied, If this person has a penis, but is locked up with a woman, how would his or her cellmate feel? I mean, there is no privacy in a jail! Should we start building prisons for transgenders?

Besides separate facilities for MtFs and FtMs, we should erect brand-new, state-of-the-art gulags for agenders, bigenders, polygenders, neutrois, androgynes, intergenders, demigenders, greygenders, aporagenders, novigenders and maveriques, and please forgive me for leaving out other mutations.

Until we achieve this prison-industrial complex nirvana, binary jails must suffice, so should Kaitlin Jenner be booked, he/she will be stripped, like everybody else, then subjected to a manual cavity search or forced to sit on a Body Orifice Security Scanner. Naked, Jenner will simply be male or female, according to the usual definition.

With its infinity of facts and unarrestable processes, ones own body is ones most exhaustive and exacting teacher, on just about everything, and like everybody else, Im not exactly comfortable with my bodys uncompromising and often cruel pointers, lessons and allegories, but such is life. The Other Shoe Has Dropped "IndyWatch Feed"

The German government has just decreed that all cheating VW diesels not turned in by their owners for fixing will be de-registered. This means the cant legally be driven and have been rendered inert several thousand pounds of deadweight their owners can no longer use at least, not without risking more serious repercussions.

Germanys federal motor vehicle authority, the KBA, had already de-registered several Audi and VW cars fitted with the affected Euro 5 diesel engines after owners ignored successive reminders to heed a recall.

Recalls, of course, usually pertain to cars that have something wrong with them which makes them unsafe to drive. This is the first time a car that works perfectly has been subject to a recall one which results in the fixed cars working less well.

The fix entails making various adjustments to the affected cars computer code or the grafting on of a Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) injection system. The end result is a mauled car that delivers lower mileage but is now compliant  like the 87-year-old lady recently Tazered by armed government workers in Georgia.

Further vehicles are at risk of being taken off the road in German state of Bavaria but have been given a grace period to get the fix done.

How nice.

The recall [for affected VW diesel cars] is compulsory. Cars that are not fixed can eventually be taken out of service. Subject to the release date of the updates, the car owner has had about a year and a half. Plenty of time, to take part in the recall, the KBA told the trade publication Automotive News Europe in an emailed statement.

The question now is: Will the American government pursue a similar policy? To make them . . .  compliant.

Currently, there is no sanction directed at U.S. owners of the affected VW and Audi (and Porsche) vehicles who declined the fix and who did not accept the buyback offer VW was forced to make.

But what will happen going forward?

Many owners of these vehicles like them just fine, just as they are and have no interest in getting them fixed. For the same reason most people prefer to remain . . . intact, so to speak.

There is even less incentive to have the cars fixed as theres zero benefit to the owner. The car will not perform better or deliver higher fuel economy. The fix affect the cars exhaust emissions, correcting the fractional increase under certain driving conditions of oxides of nitrogen (NOx) emissions, at the expense of fuel economy and drivability. Youll lose a couple of MPGs. Its not a big difference...

Have You Committed "IndyWatch Feed"

Several years ago the Commonwealth of Virginia enacted a law restricting firearms purchases to one per month. This was intended to discourage smuggling of weapons to urban areas outside Virginia with tight gun control laws and (unsurprisingly) high homicide rates. The law didnt seem to do much good and in a rare outbreak of common sense was later repealed, though theres recent misguided talk from Attorney General Mark Herring of reviving it.

During its short period in force, the prohibition spawned a popular saying in the Old Dominion: Buy one gun a month its the law!

A similar attitude may be appropriate in light of an estimate that due to vague statutes and the proliferation of federal regulations which have the force of law we wake up in the morning, go to work, come home, eat dinner, and go to sleep  unaware we may have committed several federal crimes in the course of the day. The number varies but the average number of crimes per American seems to be about three.

The more important point is that every one of us is probably guilty of something. There is no one in the United States over the age of 18 who cannot be indicted for some federal crime, retired Louisiana State University law professor John Baker told the Wall Street Journal in July 2011. That is not an exaggeration.

  • This means that if they want you, they can get you.
  • That in turn means that who gets charged, prosecuted, and jailed is a matter of the relevant officials discretion.
  • And that in turn means that discretion can and will be politicized.

Trump Crossing the Black Chasm "IndyWatch Feed"

Youre gonna need a bigger boat

Do you remember the Zune?  I barely do.

Do you remember the iPod?  Silly question.

The iPod changed everything.

While the Zune was technically superior in nearly every way to the iPod, the iPod became a phenomenon. And then it became the iPhone and the rest was history.

Why?  Because Apple focused on how the iPod made your life better.

In marketing there is something called The Chasm.  Its an idea put forth by Geoffrey Moore in the early 90s.  Getting 16% market share is easy. There are nearly always one in six people who are willing to adopt the new or different thing.

But, to become a social phenomenon that new thing has to cross the chasm by shifting the marketing message from its newness and superiority to why this new thing will make your life better.

The message has to appeal to peoples sense of shared experience and community.  And if that shift is successful your product or message will cross the chasm and see mass adoption.

Conditions have to be right and the message aligned perfectly with them.
If you do your new thing will explode in the public consciousness literally overnight.

Look at how quickly Jordan Peterson has blown up.

Conditions were right for people to receive his message.  And all it took was the right moment for him to stand up to a virulent ideologue like Kathy Newman of the BBC to become a hero to millions.

So, what does all this 16% Chasm stuff have to do with Donald Trump?

After all, he crossed the chasm and won the presidency.

But to destroy the Democrats and his Deep State opposition the chasm Trump needed to cross was a demographic one.

Minorities, specifically black voters.

And because he did, nothing about our electoral politics will ever be the same.

Rasmussen released a bombshell report on Friday stating that Trumps support among blac...

Cans, Caddies, and Conservation "IndyWatch Feed"

Storing gas is something a lot of preppers have probably thought about at some point. There are some challenges to storing gas. Finding the right can and planning out your storage system takes some thought.  During a gas shortage or any other type of emergency, you will likely need to make some effort to reduce your consumption and get the most out of the gas you have on hand.

Safety of storing gas

Never store gas in your home and near where you sleep. Gas is extremely explosive in the event of a house fire or sparks!  A can of gas exploding can turn what would have been a minor fire into an inferno that destroys your home and possibly kills people.

Gas should be stored in an unattached outbuilding or similar. I know that those of you in apartments may want to risk it but realize the possibility of what can happen.  If you rent a house and dont have a storage building then consider getting one of the smaller plastic based ones like Rubbermaid makes and storing your gas in there. If you move, you can break it down and take it with you.

Even 5 gallons of gas takes up a bit of space and it weighs around 40 lbs with the can included.

Plastic cans may reduce weight slightly, and they cost less, but they are not as sturdy as metal when it comes to punctures or impacts.

How long do you want to store it?

Fuel stabilizers can keep gas sealed well in a can for six months to a year. Be sure to read the instructions and guidelines on the bottle that you are using. One thing to consider is that if your can is truly sealed and you add stabilizer, gas should keep for a decade. The problem is that seals failing over time, rust, etc. can lead to major problems with how long it keeps.

Water in gas issues

Condensation and water in gas are common enough that you can get the product to remove water from it at most grocery stores that have even a few automotive items. HEET is a great product and can save you from having to drain a tank or waste fuel that has been contaminated with water. Keep in mind I am talking about small amounts of water. If you find gas that is half water then dispose of it. A little water or condensation in your tank can be solved by a container or two of HEET which is just a special alcohol that is safe to put in your tank.

Will Pence By The First Man On Mars? And Will Zephyr Teachout Be New York Attorney General? "IndyWatch Feed"

What sounds better, "half a trillion" or "$500,000 billion?" Either way, that's how much the national debt Trump and his GOP enablers plan to leave American taxpayers jumped in the last 6 months. That's an all-time high ($21.4 trillion), complements of a fake president whose only certifiable talent is going bankrupt. Worse: as the debt continues to rise, the pace of growth has slowed this year.

Trump's always been a "What, Me Worry?" kind of guy. For his entire miserable life, someone else has cleaned up after him. No one in their right mind could have thought his stay in the White House would have been any different. He has one over-arching goal: steal everything that isn't bolted down. His newest scheme: the space force. He "came up" with it after months of lobbying for other greed-obsessed scum bags with deep financial ties to the aerospace industry. They speak his language. This is going to be another big bonanza... at the taxpayers' expense.
Rep. Jim Cooper (Blue Dog-TN), one of the early supporters of a separate service, complained that Trumps impromptu endorsement had hijacked the issue and could vastly inflate the budget process. There are many vendors of all types who are excited at the prospect of an explosion of new spending, which was not our goal, he said.

Still, when Trump abruptly embraced the idea at Miramar-- and began promoting it to wild applause at other rallies-- a moribund notion opposed by much of the Pentagon hierarchy and senior members of the Senate became a real possibility.

Nancy Pelosi has a message for those Democrats who think they can oppose her as the next speaker.
I dont care.

In other words get back in line and shut up.
Pelosi will be the next Speaker if Democrats win on their vision of open borders, job cuts and higher taxes.
You can take that to the bank. reported:

In a recent interview with The New York Times, the California Democrat said she just doesnt care about the number of Democratic candidates on the campaign trail in the 2018 election cycle who openly oppose her desire to wield the speakers gavel once again if distancing themselves from her is helpful for their local elections.

I dont care, she told the outlet. Let them do whatever they want. We have to win an election.

Pelosi also delineated a test for any aspiring party leader. She said any Democrat who hopes to assume her post should have a following, [and] that theyve shown a vision for the country.

Any would-be challenger, she said, must show that they have huge fundraising prowess, as well.

Will Obstruction Of Justice Pay Off For Republicans? "IndyWatch Feed"

Over the weekend, the NY Times reported that Don McGahn, the top White House lawyer seems to be taking on the John Dean Watergate role in Putin-Gate. He voluntarily sat with Mueller's team for over 30 hours in at least 3 sessions over the last 9 months. I always thought it would be Kushner-in-law who would be the first to rat out Trump. McGahan, who often refers to Trump as "King Kong," was directed to focus on helping the Special Counsel build the obstruction of justice case by answering questions about Trumps anger towards the investigation and especially towards Comey and Sessions. The Times asserted that McGahn's extensive testimony included pieces of the puzzle "that investigators would not have learned of otherwise."
McGahn described the presidents furor toward the Russia investigation and the ways in which he urged Mr. McGahn to respond to it. He provided the investigators examining whether Mr. Trump obstructed justice a clear view of the presidents most intimate moments with his lawyer.

Among them were Mr. Trumps comments and actions during the firing of the F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, and Mr. Trumps obsession with putting a loyalist in charge of the inquiry, including his repeated urging of Attorney General Jeff Sessions to claim oversight of it. Mr. McGahn was also centrally involved in Mr. Trumps attempts to fire the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, which investigators might not have discovered without him.

For a lawyer to share so much with investigators scrutinizing his client is unusual. Lawyers are rarely so open with investigators, not only because they are advocating on behalf of their clients but also because their conversations with clients are potentially shielded by attorney-client privilege,...

SPOOKS TURN ON EACH OTHER=> Clapper Throws Brennan Under the Bus John and His Rhetoric Have Become an Issue (VIDEO) "IndyWatch Feed"

On Sunday, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said John Brennans rhetoric is becoming an issue.

John and his rhetoric have become an issue in and of itself, Clapper said in an appearance on CNNs State of the Union.

James Clapper was responding to a NYT op-ed former CIA Director John Brennan penned a few days ago wherein he claimed Trumps campaign colluded with Russia.

Brennan isnt handling his security clearance being revoked by President Trump too wellhes fuming!

Brennans op-ed drew a huge backlash even from people who arent supporters of President Trump.

Surprisingly, Senate Intel Chairman Richard Burr (R-NC) released a statement slamming John Brennans claims in his NYT op-ed that President Trumps campaign colluded with a foreign power.

Director Brennans recent statements purport to know as fact that the Trump campaign colluded with a foreign power. If Director Brennans statement is based on intelligence he received while still leading the CIA, why didnt he include it in the Intelligence Community Assessment released in 2017? Senator Burr said in a statement.

Senator Burr continued, If his statement is based on intelligence he has seen since leaving office, it constitutes an intelligence breach. If he has some other personal knowledge of or evidence of collusion, it should be disclosed to the Special Counsel, not The New York Times.

If, however, Director Brennans statement is purely political and based on conjecture, the president has full authority to revoke his security clearance as head of the Executive Branch, Mr. Burr concluded.

Brennan also routinely attacks President Trump from his Twitter account, at one point claiming President Trumps Helsinki Summit with Putin was treasonous.

Randy Bryce Won His Primary Tuesday-- Now Comes The Hard Part "IndyWatch Feed"

Tuesday's primaries in Connecticut, Vermont, Wisconsin and Minnesota added up to a very good day for Democrats and for progressives up and down the ballots. In every state and in every contested congressional election, far more votes were cast in Democratic races than in Republican races. That's a clear indication of Democratic enthusiasm and Republican lack thereof.

Let's take Vermont, a state that went for Hillary, and Wisconsin, a state that went for Trump, as examples. Both states had highly contested gubernatorial races. Democrats overwhelmingly nominated progressive Christine Hallquist in a 4-way contest. The Republican race pitted popular incumbent Phil Scott against a far right challenger backed by the NRA. Not only did Hallquist, a transgender woman, win more votes than Scott, but 57,102 voters participated in the Democratic primary, while only 35,840 bothered to show up for the Republican primary.

In Wisconsin, 537,840 voters showed up for the Democratic primary but just 456,007 came for the GOP primary, where GOP incumbent Scott Walker is polling significantly under State Superintendent of Education, Tony Evers, who won the Democratic primary.

And in the big congressional races, progressives won the day-- Ilhan Omar in Minnesota, Jahana Hayes (who faced down a Chamber of Commerce establishment shill) in Connecticut, and Randy "IronStache" Bryce in southeast Wisconsin.

There's a good chance that the first time you heard about Randy it was from us. Why would I say that? We helped the Working Families Party and state Senator Chris Larson recruit him to run long before the DCCC had ever heard about him. He was "just" a grassroots...

Bottled water comes from your own tap water sourcesthey just treat it differently then sell it back to you and make billions a year, while the EPA allows such low standards of quality that most people have no idea that they are drinking acidic water and in many cases water with contaminates in them beyond their own tap water.  Yes, the beautiful bottle water can be recalled.  And when the EPA has allowed the water companies to do their own testing.there has NOT BEEN GOOD OVERSIGHT!

But, dont worry.most companies put disclaimers out for you to try and findlike Aquafina bottled by Pepsi co.  Here is their disclaimer.

CONTAMINANTS IN WATER: Drinking water, including bottled water, may reasonably be expected to contain at least small amounts of some contaminants. The presence of contaminants does not necessarily indicate that water poses a health risk. More information about contaminants and potential health effects can be obtained by calling the United States Food and Drug Administration, Food and Cosmetic Hotline (1-888-723-3366). In order to ensure that bottled water is safe to drink, the United States Food and Drug Administration and the State Department of Public Health prescribe laws and regulations that limit the amount of certain contaminants in water provided by bottled water companies.

Some persons may be more vulnerable to contaminants in drinking water than the general population. Immuno-compromised persons, including, but not limited to, persons with cancer who are undergoing chemotherapy, persons who have undergone organ transplants, persons with HIV/AIDS or other immune system disorders, some elderly persons, and infants can be particularly at risk from infections. These persons should seek advice about drinking water from their health care providers. Florida's Lovely Beaches-- Over-Run With Deadly Human Waste "IndyWatch Feed"

Republicans office holders and their children drink the same water and breath the same air as normal people, right? In fact, in Florida, where the expensive property is closest to the water, it's their homes that are in the greatest danger from Climate Change. So why are Republicans such dicks when it comes to protecting society from environmental degradation and from Global Warming? Follow the money. In fact, follow the Koch brothers' money. They have spent tens of millions of dollars financing the careers of GOP politicians and if there's one thing the Koch brothers want in return, it's a government hands-off agenda when it comes to Climate Change and the environment. Bad for business-- bad for their business. And they'll be long dead before the floods reach Wichita.

Is Roger Stone, the editor of StoneColdTruth? I doubt it, but Roger Stone's e-mail account sent me this story, Florida Red Tide Reality Saturday morning. I thought it was going to be about how Ron DeSantis and Rick Scott are stealing the midterms with the help of the Kremlin and was about to delete it... until I saw the subtitle: "Real Facts On Florida's Algae Issue." I wondered how he was going to spin that environmental catastrophe into some kind of right-wing talking point. So I opened it. And was surprised that he didn't even try. In fact, quite the contrary:
During Floridas annual wet season, from May through October each year, over 40 inches of rainwater falls in the center of the sunshine state-- 70% of Floridas annual precipitation. Most of that rain drops on land in the north Florida watershed, above Lake Okeechobee and then gradually flows southward across cattle pastures, leaky septic-tank ridden residential communities, commercial vegetable gardens, and through a gauntlet of sewage slu...

This seems like a really bad gaffe, but conservatives won't see it as one:

President Donald Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani on Sunday claimed "truth isn't truth" when trying to explain why the president should not testify for special counsel Robert Mueller for fear of being trapped into a lie that could lead to a perjury charge.

Truth is truth, Todd responded.

No, no, it isnt truth, Giuliani said. Truth isnt truth. The President of the United States says, I didnt ...

A startled Todd answered: Truth isnt truth?

Giuliani: No, no, no.

Todd said: This is going to become a bad meme.

It was appalling when Kellyanne Conway talked about "alternative facts" last year, but nobody cared apart from people who already disapproved of Trump. This will be more of the same. We can have a laugh over it, but it won't matter in the long run.

Some on the right may have been embarrassed by "alternative facts," but what Giuliani said today won't be embarrassing to them because they believe what he said afterward.

Sarah Smith is both a member of the local Democratic Party and Democratic Socialists of America. Shes run a scrappy grassroots campaign that consists of all volunteers. She also has garnered a reputation as a rare antiwar candidate in the 2018 midterm elections because she views foreign policy as a top issue.

Later, the shows hosts get her thoughts about the war economy, Puerto Rico, and the head tax proposal in Seattle to raise funds for affordable housing, which Amazon defeated.

BOOM: THE REAL RUSSIA COLLUSION CONSPIRACY! The FBI, DOJ and DNC All Sought Dirt on Trump from Former MI6 Agent Steele While He Was Being Paid By Russians! "IndyWatch Feed"

Guest post by Joe Hoft

The DNC, FBI and the DOJ all sought dirt on Presidential candidate and then President Donald J. Trump.  They were willing to work with UK MI6 Agent Christopher Steele who was also working with Russians at the same time.  This is the real Russia Collusion story.

Former MI6 agent Christopher Steele was all over the news over the past few years for providing and promoting the fake Trump Russia dossier to the Hillary campaign, the DNC, the FBI and the DOJ.  With information now known, it becomes clear that Steele was paid by the Russians while he was pushing the fake Russia dossier to the Democrat and Deep State complex.

This is the Russia collusion story the efforts by the corrupt Hillary campaign and the DNC and the US governments DOJ and FBI to obtain dirt on Donald Trump, even if it was made up by Russians.  These efforts were the real Russian collusion!  As usual, liberals worked with Russians in this effort as also worked with the Russians in their criminal actions related to Uranium One and thereby committed the acts they blamed on President Trump proving again that they are the greatest projectionists in US history.

We now know that former UK MI6 agent Steele first came on the scene in early 2016 and his actions were related to Russia, but not as portrayed by the media.  Based on the DOJs Ohrs emails and text messages released last week, Steele was communicating with the DOJs Ohr long before the 2016 election.

Steeles first communications with Ohr related to requests on behalf of a Russian oligarch who was closely connected to Russian President Putin.  Byron York reported

The emails, given to Congress by the Justice Department, began on Jan . 12, 2016, when Steele sent Ohr a New Years greeting. Steele brought up the case of Russian aluminum magnate Oleg Deripaska (referred to in various emails as both OD and OVD), who was at the...

Trump & Kanye Vs. Omarosa, the NAACP, and the Media Cabal Guess Whos Winning? "IndyWatch Feed"

What have you got to lose?

President Trumps approval rating among African-Americans has the NAACP and the vast majority of the mainstream media in full panic mode. According to the latest Rasmussen poll, African Americans are in the midst of a seismic political shift showing a 36% approval rating for President Trump, nearly double his support at this time last year.

In stark contrast, the latest NAACP job approval poll indicates a 21% approval for President Trump among African-Americans. The NAACP, a political subsidiary of the Democratic Party, along with the vast majority of the mainstream media, have attempted to combat this political trend with more versions of their go-to racism narrative in an attempt to stifle the political exodus.

While the majority of the print and cable news organizations are furiously propagating stories about the ethically-challenged former White House Aide, Omarosa Manigault Newman, and her supposed recording of President Trump saying a racial slur that has yet to materialize, President Trump is expanding his base by taking statistically significant ground that strikes at the very heart of the Democratic Partys core constituency.

Derrick Johnson, President and CEO of the NAACP stated, Our analysis shows President Trumps racism is a major factor in both why and how people will vote in the midterm elections. The poll confirms how Trumps racism has not only divided the nation and polluted policy, but also serves as a key factor in motivating voters of color to disrupt politics as usual on a national scale. The NAACP false narrative continues on claiming that African American celebrity support plays no role in Trumps rising approval rate, but actually lowers it.

This divergent NAACP approval poll along with its corresponding narrative appear to be a classic voter suppression tactic. The suppression poll strategy is a disinformation tactic that was heavily promulgated by the majority of the left-leaning print and cable news agencies during the 2016 Presidential Election in what was a failed attempt to discourage Trump supporters from voting.

This NAACP Poll along with the accompanying rhetoric is clearly at od...

John Brennan: From Useful Idiot For Stalinism and Sharia, To Anti-Trump Putschist "IndyWatch Feed"

Guest post by Dr. Andrew Boston:

Five years before the October, 1917 Bolshevik Revolution would begin to impose Communist totalitarianism on Russia, Henry C. Vedder, observed in his 1912 study of Socialism, that the Marxist Social Labor Federation of Britain had adopted Karl Marxs Das Kapital [Capital] as their infallible authority, an article of faith from which they will permit no dissent, on pain of excommunication. Vedder, a Professor of Church History at the Upland, Pennsylvania Crozer Theological Seminary, added that this British Marxist organization rejected the orthodoxy of its own votaries unless they professed as their creed, There is no God, and Karl Marx is his prophet  mirroring the Islamic declaration of faith, or shahada. The late doyen of Islamic studies, Bernard Lewis, underscored how this summation of the Communist creed captured the real affinity between totalitarian Communism, and Islam, in a 1954 essay.

Both groups [i.e., adherents of Islam or Communism] profess a totalitarian doctrine, with complete and final answers to all questions on heaven and earth; the answers are different in every respect, alike only in their finality and completeness, and in the contrast they offer with the eternal questioning of Western man. Both groups offer to their members and followers the agreeable sensation of belonging to a community of believers, who are always right, as against an outer world of unbelievers, who are always wrong. Both offer an exhilarating feeling of mission, of purpose, of being engaged in a collective adventure to accelerate the historically inevitable victory of the true faith over the infidel evil-doers. The traditional Islamic division of the world into the House of Islam and the House...

Do The Republicans Have An Ace Up Their Sleeves For November? "IndyWatch Feed"

Last week, Seor Trumpanzee schlepped his fat ass to upstate New York to campaign for Congresswomen Elise Stefanik (NY-21) and Claudia Tenney (NY-22). Stepfanik didn't want one of his raucus, hate-filled. red-meat rallies so they orchestrated a bill signing ceremony at Fort Drum. Trump managed to make a spectacle of himself anyway, signing the John S. McCain National Defense Authorization Act without mentioning John McCain's name.

Later he went down to Utica, to hold a high-dough fundraiser at the Doubletree Hotel for Tenney. He called her wing-wing Blue Dog opponent, Anthony Brindisi, "a puppet of Nancy Pelosi" and babbled one of his inauthentic, one-size-fits-all lines about how Tenney won't have a problem beating him. Outside the event there were about 100 racist Trump supporters screaming about illegals. They were out-numbers by protesters. Two days later Inside Elections changed the rating for Tenney from Tilt Republican to Toss Up. Nathan Gonzales also changed ratings for Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA), Mike Coffman (R-CO), Pete Roskam (R-IL), and John Faso (R-NY). He also changed the ratings for the open CA-49 race (Issa's seat) and for Barbara Comstock's race to Tilt Democratic from Toss Up. In all. he shifted 30 races away from Republicans and towards Democrats. He said the Republicans aren't facing a wave as much as raging fires. Forget Your Son: Brazil Is Forcibly Taking Indigenous Children and Putting Them Up for Adoption "IndyWatch Feed"

I practiced my greetings in Guarani several times before approaching lida Oliveira. lida, who doesnt speak Portuguese, had arrived that morning in the town of Amambai, in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, deep in Brazils agricultural heartland and less than an hours drive from Paraguay. She was accompanied by officials from Funai, the federal agency responsible for indigenous affairs in Brazil. lida had traveled there to explain how, three years earlier, local health agents and representatives of the municipal Guardianship Council in the city of Dourados, where she lives, had arrived to remove her newborn child from her custody.

The child, they took him when he was only 8 days old. She asks that you not take away her children again.

Two-hundred women listened in silence to lidas testimony, given in her native language Guarani, an indigenous language of central South America. A local named Wanda Kua Rendy had volunteered to translate lidas words to Portuguese for the authorities in attendance, but she was only able to get through a few sentences before bursting into tears. The child, they took him when he was only 8 days old, Rendy said. She asks that you not take away her children again.

lida smiled when I asked for an interview, but she was hesitant to allow her youngest child to leave her lap as we recorded. As a researcher, I had prepared to attend the sixth annual Kuangue Aty, a large gathering of women from the Kaiow and Guarani indigenous communities, to focus on the prayers and songs that marked the nights and days of the meeting, from the initial reception to the final debates. As an ethnographer or a reporter, however, I was compelled to pay attention to the issues afflicting the human beings involved. Why has the number of indigenous children in institutional care increased so much in the last year? I wondered. Janete Alegre, organizer of the Amambai meeting, asked, Is there now a law that says indigenous children must be taken from their indigenous families and given to the whites?

In the sprawling municipality of Dourados alone with a population of some 200,000 people in an area twice the size of Los Angeles 50 indigenous children were living in shelters at the end of 2017, according to a study by the Funai Regional Office. By July 2018, 34 remained separated from their families. I discovered the stories of lida and other mothers in Dourados are just the tip of the iceberg. Uncountable communities suffer from the complex problems associated with the state taking indigenous children from their families. There are indications of even more serious irregularities in the processes where the children are taken, which have been monitored since 2010 b...

Midnight Meme Of The Day! "IndyWatch Feed"

by Noah

Valerie Plame knows treachery and treason. She experienced it first hand at the grubby little paws of Scooter Libby and his boss Dick Cheney (and other Bush staff) when they deliberately betrayed her cover as one of our agents. Libby took the fall. Cheney still roams free, unpunished for this and other crimes. We will probably never know how many or Plame's pro-American contacts and informants died because of the betrayal. It's the stuff of spy novels, except that it happened in the real world.

To top it off, Fake President Trump pardoned Scooter Libby almost as soon as he could. Perhaps in his mind he thought he was setting a precedent of pardoning people for treason. Perhaps he thought putting the idea of pardons for treason out there would come in handy at some rapidly approaching future date. Maybe he wants to sell hats that say "Pardons For Treason" or the pardons themselves. He could open up a Trump Pardon Booth in the Rose Garden. Looks like there could be quite a line, a line that would, if we had a real justice system, extend at least all the way to the Capitol Building.

Valerie Plame has seen a lot. She knows Nixon and Reagan never faced trial for their treason, blatant screaming treason performed just in the service of getting elected in the first place. So, it's unlikely that Trump needed a treason pardon precedent for himself, although in his obviously demented brain, who knows what he was thinking, if thinking is even a concept in the mind of Trump at this point. As evidenced by his tweets and other public statements, it's more of a reptilian just react kind of thing with him.

Has the liberal media ever cried this hard for an American murderer who was arrested while driving with his pregnant wife?
Or is it only the illegals who count any more on the left?

FOX News has the rest of the story.

A California woman said Saturday that she had to drive herself to the hospital and give birth without her husband after he was detained by immigration agents.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials said the man was detained because he was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant in a homicide case in Mexico.

Maria del Carmen Venegas said she and her husband, Joel Arrona Lara, were driving to the hospital Wednesday when they stopped for gas in San Bernardino, just east of Los Angeles.

Surveillance footage shows two vehicles immediately flank the couples van after they pulled into the gas station. Agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement questioned the couple and asked for identification, Venegas said.

Venegas, 32, said she provided hers but that Arrona had left his at home in their rush to the hospital. The surveillance footage shows the agents handcuffing the 35-year-old Arrona and taking him away, leaving a sobbing Venegas alone at the gas station.

Its supposed to be a month for dachas, vacations, and slow news cycles. But its also been a month of coups, invasions, disasters, and financial meltdowns.

So much so, that its become something of an annual ritual and annual cliche to talk about Russias August Curse.

Every year, almost as if on cue, we tend to recall all the tumultuous events of Augusts past events such as the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968, the financial meltdown of 1998, the Kursk submarine disaster of 2000, and many others and brace for what might be coming.

But at a deeper level, August isnt just a month of dramatic, tumultuous, and often tragic events. It has also often been a month of political watersheds a month when old eras die and new ones are born.

Every August, Russians wait for history, and they are rarely disappointed, journalist and commentator Julia Ioffe wrote in The New Yorker back in 2011.

Twenty-six Augusts ago in 1991, of course, the Soviet era ended when a failed hard-line coup against Mikhail Gorbachev ended more than seven decades of communist rule and led to the breakup of the Soviet Union.

And just seven years after that milestone, in August 1998, the backlash began in earnest.

On August 17, 1998, the Russian government defaulted on its debt, devalued the ruble and set off a massive financial crisis.

In addition to wiping out the savings of ordinary Russians, the financial meltdown also sparked a political crisis, crippled Boris Yeltsins presidency, and spelled the beginning of the end of Russias clumsy, fleeting, halting, and tentative post-Soviet experiment with Western-style liberal democracy.

The Advent Of Putin

And it was one August later, when the age of Vladimir Putin would begin born out of the death agony of the Yeltsin era.

In fact, August 1999 may have been Russias most dramatic and consequential August of all.

Russia still was reeling from an economic crisis. Prosecutors were investigating Yeltsins cronies and even members of his immediate family for graft.

The air was thick with intrigue. Kremlin clans were at each others throats. Regional leade...

ROBERT MUELLER Was Too Busy To Answer Whitey Bulger Case Questions But DEMANDS President Trump Testify in Deep State Witch Hunt "IndyWatch Feed"

Guest post by Joe Hoft

Corrupt Bad Cop Robert Mueller never had time to answer questions related to the Whitey Bulger case a case where Muellers team in the 1980s befriended Boston gangster Whitey Bulger and framed four innocent men of murder.

Judge Jeanine tonight noted that Special Counsel Robert Mueller never had time to answer questions related to his work with gangster Whitey Bulger but he expects the President to find time to talk to him about the fake Russia collusion story

Mueller aligned himself and the his FBI in the 1980s with notorious Boston gangster Whitey Bulger, later portrayed by actor Johnny Depp in the movie Black Mass, (see trailor below)

Sara Carter discussed Mueller and his compatriot Andrew Weissmann, whom Mueller invited to be on his fraudulent Trump-Russia conspiracy team. Carter notes the following about Mueller and Weissman and their shady pasts with mob related cases

Weissmanns involvement in the Colombo case in the 1990s was the first of many cases that would draw criticism from his peers but this case, in particular, would be one of the FBIs biggest blunders. As I outlined last month, Judge Charles P. Sifton reprimanded Weissmann for withholding evidence from the defense, as previously reported. Weissmann allowed a corrupt FBI agent to testify against the defendants in the case despite having knowledge that the agent was under investigation. The agent had a nefarious relationship with a reputed underboss of the Colombo crime family, who was accused later of numerous murders, court records reveal.

Mueller had similar troubles during the 1980s in Boston when he was Acting U.S. Attorney from 1986 through 1987. Under Muellers watch in Boston, another one of the FBIs most scandalous cases occurred. At the time, an FBI agent by the name of John Connolly, who is now in prison for murder-related charges, had been the handler for James ...

Franklin And Eleanor Roosevelt Wing vs The Joe Lieberman And Blanche Lincoln Wing "IndyWatch Feed"

No, not just another pretty face

Democrats from the Democratic wing of the party-- people in the tradition of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt rather than Joe Lieberman and Blanche Lincoln-- had some nice strong wins Tuesday. It was very healthy for the Democratic Party in general that Chamber of Commerce Democrat Mary Glassman was defeated by Teacher of the Year Jahana Hayes in Connecticut, that progressives with powerful personal brands like Randy Bryce WI-01) and Ilhan Omar (MN-05) were nominated for congressional races they should win and that Vermont Democratic voters overwhelmingly picked Christine Hallquist, a transgender women, as their nominee for governor. In fact, not only did Hallquist outpoll popular Republican incumbent Phil Scott Democratic turnout was 57,102 compared to Republican turnout of just 35,840, despite a barn-burner primary on the GOP side. Actually significantly more Democrats voted than Republicans-- both statewide and in every contested congressional race-- in all 4 states that had primaries. Even in midwestern districts that Trump won in 2016, Democrats showed up in greater numbers than did Republicans. All good.

Yesterday, Reid Wison, a tepid status quo pundit type, writing for The Hill sounded almost like yours truly did a year ago-- throwing at the possibility that the GOP could be facing a 70-seat wipeout. You rarely-- really rarely-- hear that kind of talk inside the Beltway. He points to "Democratic enthusiasm and a GOP malaise surrounding" Seor Trumpanzee and the table being set for "a potentially devastating midterm election for the House Republican majority." Rudy Giuliani joined Judge Jeanine Pirro on Saturday night to discuss the latest developments in the Mueller witch hunt.

Judge Jeanine: Who would plant a story or a suggestion or create an effort to legitimize a claim that McGahns trying to take the fall. What does it tell you? Does it tell you that the New York Times is making stuff up and is fake news? Does it tell you that Mueller is starting to panic and is starting to get McGahn to work with him?

Rudy Giuliani: (Laughing)

Judge Jeanine: Who is this? Whats going on?

Rudy Giuliani: I think the best analysis would be that the Mueller team is panicking. They know they dont have a case. There is no collusion. There is no obstruction. They cant prove it and they are trying to get the president to testify.

Soviet Invasion of Czechoslovakia, 1968

On August 20, 1968, the Soviet Union led Warsaw Pact troops in an invasion of Czechoslovakia to crack down on reformist trends in Prague. Although the Soviet Unions action successfully halted the pace of reform in Czechoslovakia, it had unintended consequences for the unity of the communist bloc.

Before the Second World War, the nation of Czechoslovakia had been a strong democracy in Central Europe, but beginning in the mid 1930s it faced challenges from both the West and the East.

In 1938, the leadership in Great Britain and France conceded the German right to takeover the Sudetenland in the Munich Agreement, but the Czechoslovak government condemned this German occupation of its western-most territory as a betrayal.

ANOTHER TRUMP MIRACLE: President Brings Hope and Investment Back to Gary, Indiana A Democrat Dead Zone "IndyWatch Feed"

What have you got to lose?

President Trump often posed this question to black voters living in failed and violent Democrat zones in our US cities.

Already President Trumps approval ratings have nearly doubled with black Americans.
The black unemployment rate reached a new low under President Trump.
Americas businesses and manufacturers have reached new levels of optimism.

And now this

President Trump is bringing hope and investment back to Gary, Indiana, a community devastated by decades of Democrat policies.

The Chicago Tribune reported:

U.S. Steel announced Thursday that it is investing $750 million to revitalize its flagship Gary plant to gear up for increased demand in the wake of President Donald Trumps tariffs on imported steel.

The company said the investment will make significant upgrades to increase efficiencies at the 110-year-old Northwest Indiana plant, which is U.S. Steels largest, employing 3,800 workers.

The investment in the Gary plant is part of a $2 billion asset revitalization program at Pittsburgh-based U.S. Steel. The five-year Gary project will include building expansion and the installation of new production equipment and technology.

No new hires were announced as part of the plant improvements.

There are no committed new jobs at this point, but the project will retain the more than 3,800 jobs in Gary, Abby Gras, a spokeswoman for the Indiana Economic Development Corp., said Thursday.

U.S. Steel Corp. President and CEO David Burritt credited favorable trade policies on steel imports as instrumental to the companys facility modernization program.

We are pleased to be making this significant investment at Gary Works, which will improve the facilitys environmental performance, bolster our competitiveness and benefit the local community for years to come, Burritt said in a news release.

The Trump-Media Logrolling "IndyWatch Feed"

-by Sam Husseini

A couple of days ago, hundreds of newspapers, at the initiative of the Boston Globe, are purporting to stand up for a free press against Trump's rhetoric.

Today also marks exactly one month since I was dragged out of the July 16 Trump-Putin news conference in Helsinki and locked up until the middle of the night.

As laid in my cell, I chuckled at the notion that the city was full of billboards proclaiming Finland was the "land of free press."

So, I've grown an especially high sensitivity to both goonish behavior toward journalists trying to ask tough questions-- and to those professing they are defending a free press when they are actually engaging in a marketing exercise.

As some have noted, the editorials today will likely help Trump whip up support among his base against a monolithic media. But, just as clearly, the establishment media can draw attention away from their own failures, corruptions and falsehoods simply by focusing on Trump's.

Big media outlets need not actually report news that affect...

So I guess this guy got stuck with the job of trying to prepare the ground for a Donald Trump N-word tape, unless he volunteered:

A Georgia state lawmaker said he would not have an issue if President Donald Trump used the n-word in the past and argued that holding a president accountable for mistakes made before entering office would "set a bad precedent."

"I will always say using the n-word is wrong, and it's bad, and should never be accepted in our society. But just because (Trump) might have done it years ago, not as our president, doesn't mean we need to continue to berate him because he used it," GOP state Sen. Michael Williams, who is white, told CNN's Victor Blackwell on "New Day Saturday."

Williams said it is "always wrong to use that word," but that Trump, as President, has not used that word.

He added, "To hold somebody accountable for something he did years ago as our president today, I think it sets a bad precedent."
I assume Williams was invited on just so he could make this point. There's no other reason he should be of interest to a national audience -- yes, he just ran for governor of Georgia, but he got only 4% of the Republican primary vote. He attracted a fair amount of national attention because he campaigned in an anti-immigrant "deportation bus," but the primary winner, Brian Kemp, also suggested that he'd personally round up "criminal illegals" (in a pickup truck), so Williams never broke through.

I assume that the national party wants somebody out there trying to minimize the impact of a potential Trump N-word tape, and that no Republican with a national profile wants the job. Me, I don't understand why Republicans are afraid of the tape at all, or why there's a perceived need to explain it away preemptively -- it'll go over just fine with the base.

In other words, I hope Brian Beutler is right, but I don't believe he is:
As revealing and embarrassing as Trumps enduring popularity with Republican voters isas easy as it is to imagine them as a kind of unbreakable damI trust Trump to know where hes vulnerable better than I trust my own cynicism about self-identified Republican voters. Those voters have cheered or tolerated all of Trumps racism. But that is racism as it should be defined. As I noted last week, millions of Americans believe racism only describes people who use forbidden slurs in casual conversation. Hearing Trump do that would, as a matter of almost mathematical certainty, be a turning point for so...

Secretary-initiated complaint alleges platform allows advertisers to discriminate

WASHINGTON The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced today a formal complaint against Facebook for violating the Fair Housing Act by allowing landlords and home sellers to use its advertising platform to engage in housing discrimination.

HUD claims Facebook enables advertisers to control which users receive housing-related ads based upon the recipients race, color, religion, sex, familial status, national origin, disability, and/or zip code. Facebook then invites advertisers to express unlawful preferences by offering discriminatory options, allowing them to effectively limit housing options for these protected classes under the guise of targeted advertising. Read HUDs complaint against Facebook.

The Fair Housing Act prohibits housing discrimination including those who might limit or deny housing options with a click of a mouse, said Anna Mara Faras, HUDs Assistant Secretary for Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity. When Facebook uses the vast amount of personal data it collects to help advertisers to discriminate, its the same as slamming the door in someones face.

The Fair Housing Act prohibits discrimination in housing transactions including print and online advertisement on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, or familial status. HUDs Secretary-initiated complaint follows the Departments investigation into Facebooks advertising platform which includes targeting tools that enable advertisers to filter prospective tenants or homebuyers based on these protected classes.

For example, HUDs complaint alleges Facebooks platform violates the Fair Housing Act. It enables advertisers to, among other things:

Netflix Cancels Gutter Comedian Michelle Wolfs Show After Less Than Three Months Due to Lack of Viewership "IndyWatch Feed"

Netflix cancelled gutter comedian Michelle Wolfs talk show, The Break With Michelle Wolf, after the first season, Deadline reported on Friday.

According to sources who spoke to Deadline, the show was cancelled because of the lack of viewership to secure a renewal after only three months.

Nearly everyone was appalled over the nasty, vile insults comedienne Michelle Wolf hurled at Sarah Huckabee Sanders during the annual White House Correspondents Dinner in April.

The gutter comedian even cracked a joke about abortion as the audience of liberal snakes laughed.

Michelle Wolf also mocked Sarah Sanders as Aunt Lydia in the Handmaidens Tale, a bull-dyke gym teacher and attacked Sanders over her smoky eye look. Wolf concluded with the racist, sexist attack in which she called Sanders a traitor to white women.

On one of the episodes of The Break With Michelle Wolf, the foul-mouth bride of Satan celebrated with a salute to abortion.

Wolf joined a marching band in a Salute to Abortion in an episode that aired in early July.

The far-left media praised Michelle Wolf, but it turns out real Americans rejected Wolfs wickedness and didnt tune into her pathetic show.

It turns out that the majority of people find Michelle Wolf to be abhorrent for celebrating the murder of unborn babies and rejected her foul-mouthed comedic routines which is why her s...

When the Pennsylvania Supreme Court oversaw the redrawing of the state's gerrymandered congressional districts, Charlie Dent's 15th district got somewhat friendlier for Democrats. Dent had already decided he couldn't stand working in a Trumpified Washington and had announced his premature retirement. The new 7th district is 71.6% from Dent's 15th CD, 24.8% from Matt Cartwright's old 17th district and a tiny bit from Tom Marino's old 10th district. The 15th was an R+2 district. The new 7th is a D+1. In this Trumped-up political environment, it's nearly unimaginable that a Republican could win it this year. Under the new boundaries, Hillary beat Trump 48.7% to 47.6%.

Top Senate Investigator: After 19 Months, Still No Evidence of Trump-Russia Collusion "IndyWatch Feed"

Senator Richard Burr (R-NC), the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee investigating allegations of collusion between President Donald Trump and Russia to fix the 2016 presidential election, told the Associated Press in an interview published Saturday that after nineteen months of investigation, there is no factual evidence today that weve received on collusion or conspiracy between Russia and President Donald Trumps campaign.

Sen. Richard Burr, official photo.

That should have been the headline and lede of the AP report about the interview, instead that was buried in the fourth paragraph. The AP headline is the anodyne, AP Interview: Top Republican says Russia probe difficult.

The lede:

For much of the last two years, Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Richard Burr has been the Russia investigator who is seen but rarely heard on Capitol Hill.

In an exclusive interview with The Associated Press, the North Carolina Republican opened up about the investigation that has now consumed 19 months of his life. He says it has been frustrating as hell and much more difficult than he originally envisioned. But he says the integrity of the investigation and its importance to the institution of the Senate is something he has labored to protect.

The buried lede:

Burr said there is no factual evidence today that weve received on collusion or conspiracy between Russia and President Donald Trumps campaign. But he said hes still open on the issue and hasnt personally come to any final conclusions, since the investigation isnt finished.

Burr is careful to tell the AP that because the investigation is ongoing, he has not drawn a final conclusion and is open to the idea of Trump-Russia collusion. However, Burr and a fellow Republican on the Intel committee, James Lankford (OK), warn that when the committee issues its report it will likely provoke vehement disagreement about its conclusions. OUTRAGEOUS: Louisiana Deputy FIRED for Being a Proud Boy After Being Targeted by Anti-Cop Facebook Page "IndyWatch Feed"

The Plaquemines Parish Sheriffs Office has thrown one of their deputies under the bus and fired him after an Antifa Facebook page began a harassment campaign against him over his ties to the Proud Boys.

The Sheriffs Office claimed that deputy Brian Greens termination was because of how his involvement with the pro-America group would impact public perception when the anti-cop California Antifa page Eat the Rich went after him.

If it was a bunch of local housewives picketing outside the station they MIGHT have a point, but this is just some random Antifa on his computer in California. Someone who wants to murder all cops, Proud Boys founder Gavin McInnes told the Gateway Pundit. We are the most pro-cop club in the country.

Internal Affairs had began an investigation into Green on August 8, after being sent screenshots of pro-Proud Boys posts on his social media accounts. The Eat the Rich page had been telling followers from all over the country to flood the Sheriffs Office Facebook page and tag local media outlets.

The Internal Affairs investigation determined that the Proud Boys are not a hate group, but the Plaquemines Parish Sheriffs Office capitulated to Antifa anyways likely worried about the Sheriffs re-election.

Speaking to the Gateway Pundit, Green said that the Sheriffs Office had offered to allow him to resign over violation of their social media policy that says deputies are not allowed to post anything that would discredit the office. He declined and was fired by the end of the day.

My personal opinion is that they are caving to pressure from people who dont even live in Louisiana, or my perish specifically, Green told the Gateway Pundit. I would like it put out there that in five years of working for the Sheriffs Office I have never had a negative complaint against me. Ive never had any disciplinary action taken against me. There has been a good size outreach from the deputies that work within the Sheriffs Office who are in support of me and the public of Plaquemines Parish has reached out in support of me.

The Eat the Rich Facebook page has vowed to continue going after Green and hound any business that hires him.
